Installation Instructions
1. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Steam on Windows?
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. Although it is for an older version of FM, the steps are still the same. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.
This is what the MP folder should look like for the respective version of FM you're using:
Anything beyond the blue line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.
The preferences should look like in the below screenshot:
To get them to look like this, navigate to your preferences on the welcome screen or by using the drop-down menu near the top right of the menu within your save game.
Choose the advanced tab (the blue square within the screenshot above) and select all from the drop-down menu on the right (the red square within the screenshot above).
Scroll down to the interface section near the middle of the list, where you are to make sure that:
• the “Use caching to decrease page loading times” box is unticked
• the “Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences” box is ticked
After clicking confirm, it may take a few seconds or minutes for all the graphics to be loaded and you should now see all the graphics you have downloaded appear in your save game.
Once your skin is reloaded, you can re-tick the "Use Caching to Decrease Page Loading Time" button so that the splash screen at the start takes a lot less longer to load. However, the above process needs to be undertaken every time you add graphics to your game to ensure that the game "reads" them.
2. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using a Mac OS?
From FM20 onwards, there's been a substantial change to how Mac FM documents are stored. Previously the files would automatically go in the Documents folder here:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
Now the files will instead appear in the following location:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
By default this folder is hidden, so to access you need to do as follows:
Open Finder
Click ‘Go’ from the menubar
Press and hold down the ‘Option’ (Alt) key
This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter then go to ‘Application Support’ -> ‘Sports Interactive’ -> ‘Football Manager 202x -> graphics’ (create the last folder if necessary
Anything beyond this path line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.
The preferences should look like in the below screenshot:

3. I don’t want to have the megapack in the default user data folder – can I place it elsewhere and how would I do so?
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.
The above step does not apply if you’re playing on Gamepass, in which case the user data location has to be the default one (i.e. Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 202x)
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
4. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Gamepass?
If you're using Gamepass, then you have to use the default user data folder - point 4 above does not and can not apply to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.
If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.
If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, starting with the oldest.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The likelihood is that you've put the iconfaces in the faces folder, or used the wrong config file for each folder. As a result, the smaller images (in 25x18) are being upscaled to be displayed in the person's profile, hence the blurring. Re-install the update pack again, making sure you put the contents of each folder in the right place.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download the cut-out faces that you want from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

That's confirmed everything is in the right place. Last thing, are the preferences as displayed in the installation instructions and the second FAQ?
Florian94
yes that's all correct :/
mons
Can I see a screenshot of it?
Florian94

That too looks fine. It must be something to related to how you installed the update pack but I can't think of any more to see what's wrong 😢

Hi Mons,
i have the very same problem as mentioned by Florian94. After updating with the latest pack, a lot of faces that had been shown no longer display. I'm also playing with german language… hm… but the language can't be the problem ? When i come home later, i will try switching to english…

Hello again,
well, problem solved… i really don't know what was the reason for the faces not showing up after the last update pack. But after downloading the full pack and all update packs again, generating a new xml., the faces show up again…. I hope that's not the only solution having to download all packs again… but it solved the problem for me.
Bye Bye,
Mirko

if you have problems with certain faces not showing up, you can try to generate a new xml using fmxml program.

Please can someone help me fix this issue. In the Fifa Ballon D'or award winners interface, player pictures like Iniesta and Ronaldinho are not shown, Kaka's picture is wrong even though the pictures are saved with the correct id in my graphics/faces folder.
McG84
Hans Krankel has changed a lot 🤣
AHmed CHerchei
You should check Franz Beckenbauer 🤣
Bielsa is a Legend
Was just going to put same 😂😂

@AHmed CHerchei @R Charlston @McG84, the people in question were no longer in the default database when FM21 was released. This means that, unlike other people who are still visible, it is not their actual UID which is assigned to the placeholders visible in the awards section for that profile. These placeholders' UID is not fixed like it is for players in the database, and the UID used in the default database for FM21 might change from what UID is used when the winter transfer updates are released.
In instances like this where the wrong image is displayed, it is usually the case that the UID for this placeholder is one which has changed and so a cut-out added to a later version of the megapack is mistakenly used. While 99.9% of the megapack is compatible with previous versions of FM, this is the one possibility I'm aware of where it doesn't, for the very simple reason that we're dealing with variable UIDs.
To test this, use the pre-game editor to find the UID for Beckenbauer/Kaka/Krankl in 21.0 and that in 21.3. cba to check myself, but I suspect they'll be different, albeit both UIDs starting with 2000…

@mons Thank you sir, I will try to fix it and post the result

This may well be covered in other threads but I can't seem to resolve the issue I have with FM2022 - Struggling to get the game to play with face-packs
I have downloaded the face-packs from the site in the smaller folders and followed instructions and added the 13 folders and the changes all individually - unzipped them and placed them in the graphics folder - some faces have worked in the past + all the trophies, logo packs and kit packs have worked. However with all the packs in the graphics folder the faces for love or money don't - NOW the game refuses to open.
Either it freezes on the load screen. Found that a solution is to to remove the face-packs onto desktop and then I can get to the start screen - then place the face-packs back into the graphics folder. The go to preferences - advances etc and clear cache and reset. Then the loading image data for the new skin appears but computer seems to be frozen again.
Any ideas to make this transition run smoothly .
mons
There isn't anything to ‘fix’, unfortunately…
mons
My suggestion would be to delete your cache folder and start again. Here's how to do so.
It's a very large file, you should be prepared for it to take a little while to load the game up first time round. We're not talking hours but if you have a low-spec computer, it might well take you a fair few minutes, so be patient.
Can I see the contents and folder structure of the faces folder you're trying to install?
Hackett01
Hopefully this works …
I have removed the Cache and Preferences folders and placed on the desktop as stated. Tried to load the game and still fails to open.
mons
I'm afraid you haven't installed it correctly. You should have one folder, and one folder only, which contains all the images in the megapack. The installation instructions are quite straight-forward, not sure how you've ended up with that folder structure tbh.
Firstly, move everything outside of faces/faces (no need to have that folder structure either, though it makes no difference).
It also appears like you've downloaded the megapack updates only and not the base megapack + updates.
My recommendation would be to
a) delete all the updates from the 13.00 series
b) download the 2022 torrent file and install it
c) apply the 2022 update packs.
I also have no idea what's inside the first faces folder, as that could impact matters too.
Hackett01
Not sure why I was Two Faced - I have now - sports Interactive - FM22 - Graphics - Faces
Now downloading the update packs x 17 - rather than the torrent
See if that helps any ???
mons
That's not what I said, and for a reason.
Download the 2022 torrent file, to which you would then add update packs 2022.01 - 2022.07 (which you have already apart from the most recent update pack, uploaded yesterday).
I have no idea which update packs x17 you are referring to, but you don't need them.
Can I have a screenshot of your new folder structure please? Just to be sure I've understood you correctly.
Bob1699
The current version of the cut out player faces would also work with the winter update of today right, I think this update does not influence the older versions of the face pack?
mons
There should be no issues whatsoever with using your present cut-out megapack files with 22.3 👍
Littlebird31
Hi
i have an issue with the cut-out player faces megapack. I've download the last megapack version (2022.00); But player's face isn't at the same time of my FM version.
I want messi's blond hair like in 2016-2017 (because i play on FM17), but it's definitly not.
I can see that every players are older on the face-picture.
How can i have players face from 2017 ?
Thanks you in advance.
mons
If you download the 2022 version of the megapack for FM22, it's natural to expect that a lot of person's images are more recent than the 2016/17 season.
If you want to have cut-outs from back then, my recommendation would be to download the 10.0 torrent file from here. It's from October 2017 and will include the base pack from FM17 plus all update packs released after it (9.01 - 9.12).
Littlebird31
Thanks for your answer.
I tried to extract the 10.00 torrent complete pack, but it doesn't work. And all the separate files (from 8.00 to 11.00) can't be download : the link is dead.
I can only download the 10.01…02…03 files “changes” (theses links works).
Do you have a mediafire link or something to get a megapack version between 2016 and 2018 ?
mons
What do you mean you can't extract it? Here's the torrent file attached, does it help?
These are 5 year old files; I'm afraid I don't have any inclination to upload the dozen or so huge files again just for you.
Littlebird31
I mean, the rar.torrent file on Utorrent or BitTorrent doesn't start. I don't understand why.
So i can't have my megapack.rar (the one i need to unzip).
I tried the megapack 9.00.rar.torrent , it's the same issue. Can't start it from Utorrent or BitTorrent…
mons
I misunderstood that you downloaded the file but winrar wasn't extracting it.
Well, it's a 4 and a half year old torrent, it's to be expected that there would be little or no seeds for it. Not sure what we can do tbh 😢
Littlebird31
Yeah i think so… I should keep the megapack.rar on an usb key… I was keeping the torrent file during theses all years for nothing 😢
Apparently, the "connecting to peers" isn't working (because no peers… too old file).
Maybe we can try with a second attachment… Can you give me the megapack 9.00 rar.torrent (from an attachment like you did with the 10.00) ?
If it doesn't work, well… fu** it.
