Frequently Asked Questions
If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.
If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.
If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Copy everything from here:
into here:
Why do you have 2 separate faces folders? Why do you have such a complicated folder path? The bit in blue is complicating matters and can contain multiple places where you can put the files.
Copy the bit in red (i.e. the sortitoutsi > faces folder and the sortitoutsi > iconfaces folder) and put them directly in the folder in black. Delete everything else.

I'm all up to date with the megapack but is there a way to have SI's default pics override the pack? I'm a Brighton & Hove Albion fan and for this year the faces are in the gam by default from SI and I'd like to use those rather than the pack, is that possible / easily done?
mons
These are the steps you have to go through to get the SI default cut-outs.

Thank you for the help - that is a lot of effort just to get a little glimpse of the payer in a Brighton kit when the megapack is a better quality image anyway! I'll stick with the MP for all images

The steps mons linked to are for extracting the default player cutout files from the game - it's possible (and would be easier) to edit the megapack config.xml file so that it doesn't use the megapack images for Brighton players instead. If you have a program like Notepad++, you can open the config.xml file, and search for the Brighton players' UIDs (e.g. “14157184” for Alexis Mac Allister).
To “comment out” a line so that it will be ignored by the game, you can add “<!--” in front of it and “-->" afterwards. So this line:
<record from="14157184" to="graphics/pictures/person/14157184/portrait"/>would become:
<!-- <record from="14157184" to="graphics/pictures/person/14157184/portrait"/> -->Joshua14069856934856938
Thank you, it's all working now.
I did everything right like last years but can't see the faces.

You somewhere have a folder containing a config file but without Vlahovic's image. Maybe you downloaded an update pack instead of the complete file.
Can I have screenshots of your megapack folder, showing clearly the full path it’s located in as well as how many images are in that folder?
No, i can't see any image, Vlahovic was an example. Kits, logos, stadium pictures works perfectly but got a problem with the faces. 381k faces and in ‘faces and iconfaces’ folders.
mons
Why is there a config file in the graphics folder? Where did you get that from?
Do you have a config file within the faces folder?
I don't know where this config file came from but just deleted it and problem solved. Thanks.

Hello, when the megapack (9.61 Gib) download is complete. I have the message (Fail-Forbidden). It's my connection or something.
Thanks !
mons
No idea what's happening there 😢

Hi!
I just tried downloading the complete pack, but when I try to open the .rar file to extract it, I get a “It does not appear to be a valid archive”. I downloaded it multiple times and it looks like the download finished correctly…
mons
How large is the file you downloaded? What program are you using to open it? Try WinRar.
TottiR
I downloaded the 9,6Gb file, and I use PowerArchiver, a program I have been using for a long time and never failed me.
I just tried with winrar and it worked, thanks 🙂

I'm having an issue where no image is appearing for some players. Not even the black silhouette. I have all updated packs, and I didn't have this issue with fm22.
mons
If no image is appearing, it means you have a config file in a folder containing code related to a player whose image is not there. It might mean you have installed an update pack in a standalone folder, and anything not in the update pack does not appear.
If that doesn't help, can I have screenshots of your faces folder and of your graphics folder showing clearly the full paths they're located in, as well as how many images are in that folders?
Sandro Tullo
I'm bad technically. I literally just moved the two folders from fm22 to fm23, and then deleted fm22.
mons
What 2 folders are you talking about? I can't really help you without actually seeing what you did, which is why I ask for screenshots.
Sandro Tullo
mons
That helps a bit. You have around 20,000 missing images, which I have no way of knowing how that happened. Which images aren't showing in your save then?
Sandro Tullo
It should show the black silhouette if I am missing the file, or if the player doesn't have a file. Instead, I have a number of players with just this blank space in stead of a silhouette, or a cut out face.
mons
As explained already, if no image is appearing, it means you have a config file in a folder containing code related to a player whose image is not there. It might mean you have installed an update pack in a standalone folder, and anything not in the update pack does not appear.
Can you make a search in the graphics folder of the following UID: 2000032231 ?
Before you take a screenshot, can you post the results in the manner outlined below?
This can be achieved by posting the UID in the red circle, choosing the view tab via the blue circle, the details option in the black circle and making sure the folder column in the green circle is long enough to display the full path.
This will help me see if there is one or more other folders in your user data folder which contains one or more other facepacks…

How many images are in this folder? Try deleting it or moving it temporarily elsewhere (e.g. your Desktop) and see if that works.

Just downlFoaded and installed the facepack. Followed all the usual steps (I do this every year) but now i have no faces at all. Any ideas?
Can you post screenshots of your faces folder and of your graphics folder, showing clearly the full paths they're located in, as well as how many images are in there?
