Given the money Pulis has spent he's done an awful job at Stoke since getting them promoted.

The last couple of years they should have done better than just float around 13th/14th still playing the same 'style' of football despite spending loads on Crouch and Jones etc, agreed with that, but I really wouldn't call it an awful job.

An awful job is something like Kean did at Rovers, not getting a team up and then avoiding any serious relegation trouble for the next five seasons. FA Cup final as well. But yeah, they should have done better last couple of years and they're not really improving, especially when clubs who've spent a lot less have finished top 10 in that time.

I think Stoke's spending is a bit over-stated, last year's wage budget was £53m, which was considerably lower than Fulham and Sunderland, who were over £60m. Stoke's wage bill was quite close to Bolton, Blackburn and WBA. He has spent a lot on expensive transfers though, on older players as well. I think it is the right time for him to go though, they've stagnated this year imo.

Stoke were far too close to the relegation zone this season given their spending over the past few years. Factor that in with abysmal football and I can fully understand why Stoke fans would want to see the back of him.

Around £90m around half didn't even get a look in. Awful amount of money for mediocrity, that kind of net spend should see them competing near the other end of the table.

West Ham and Liverpool agree a fee of £15M for Carroll, who has not yet decided if he wants to join.

There's another "Pardew has been sacked" rumour circulating around the internet.

Don't know what probability it is of being accurate but who knows - didn't see Pulis going, for instance.

Remember that £90m has completely built a side that has lasted 5 season in the PL. And £90m is only 18 months wages for very mediocre sides. Pulis has done Stoke's main ambition, to get promoted and established in the Premier League, obviously he has done it in quite an expensive way, but I'm sure Stoke are better off than if didn't spend and were relegated.

Also remember that £90m hasn't completely disappeared, a decent chunk of it is still in the squad.

Pulis has paid over the odds for some players, but in a way, I think he has been forced to, because no one decent is willing to go to Stoke if there is an alternative. Obviously a lot of that is his fault, because of the style of football.

Martinez making a decision on his future tomorrow.

Also, I wish more clubs had presidents like Napoli's. Saying stuff like "Our new manager's name begins with an 'M'" is just awesome. More clubs should tease like that

Graham Hunter's saying we could get Thiago for as little as £15m.

Would be a fantastic deal.

How good is he?

I've only really seen him when we played Barca in a friendly a couple of years ago. He was a cheating little shit but scored a brilliant goal.

I'd pay £15M for that alone.

But yeah his release fee is something ridiculous but if he doesn't play enough games this season it automatically goes down to £15M, which he hasn't. Still some games left though isn't there?

Hope so, I've got a cheeky couple of quid on Pellegrini to City from weeks ago, Phil Neville to Everton, Stuart McCall to Sheffield United and I have a feeling about Benitez being the next Real manager if PSG hold firm on Ancelotti.

Very bold, would be a huge gamble and could see it ending in tears......it's a crucial appointment for Everton, I'd avoid just promoting people from within.

He's good.

Easily in the same bracket of talent as the likes of Wilshere and Gündogen, although those two have obviously got higher profiles right now.

Don't really see him wanting to leave Barca though even if they would let him go that cheep.

Mundo Deportivo have us down as Thiago's likely destination.

Can't say I particularly believe them or Graham Hunter.
