Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Ok, I've downloaded WinZip and it seems to be working better now. The last 10% or so seems to be going in a loop? Could be me seeing it wrong and the final bits just taking forever?

I think I've made it somehow work ish. Issues with update pack (Pack 4, do I have to download all 4?) however. I downloaded it, pasted it to the folders and now some players don't have a picture at all. Not even the silhouette. What did I do wrong?

You should have all the faces in one folder, and not separate folders per update pack.

I do have them all in one folder. I have the “faces” and “ironfaces” folder. I pasted the update pack 4 into the two folders.

I tried using WinZip but I had a feeling the torrent file wasn't extracting correctly. Like it just kinda stopped extracting towards the last bit. Last 10-20% ish. It was stuck on the same bar progress for 30 mins or so. Gonna try and do it over with 7zip instead. I can see that there's probably not enough files.

Can I see the whole properties, for both the faces and iconfaces folder?

That folder has less than the full amount of megapack images, and I have no way of knowing which you installed and which you didn't.

Well, I just deleted them to do over with 7zip. Will consider Winrar if 7Zip doesn't do it for me.

All of them, in chronological order.

Winrar did it for me. And then extracting and pasting the updates in chronological order. Thanks a lot buddy! I shall no longer disturb this thread.

Hey all,

Been using the the megapack for years now, never had the issue I've encountered currently.

So installed the updates to the megapack from last year in chronological order - things seemed to be working fine. I noticed a couple of guys pictures were missing, I sourced them and add them myself, all okay so far. I then notice other guys pictures are missing, I google search their name only for the top results to be the SortitoutSI cutout face link….That's strange…so I go to my folder and search their ID and low and behold their picture is in there. I begin to troubleshoot, I refresh my skin, I change to default skin, I speak to some people in Discord…trying the ‘r-’ prefix (despite the player not being a newgen, someone had said that this can cause issues sometimes this year and it was a last resort). None of those things seem to make a difference. Here's a screenshot example of a player who's profile picture has not generated and his picture is clearly in my folder -

I've seen above that responses had asked for properties of the directories for the picture so I'll put those here to save time

EDIT - I've just noticed that the entry for the pictured player is NOT included in the config file - so this is likely the issue with him - is this an error on my part from installation? Is there a way for me to verify if all images present have a corresponding entry in the xml config without creating a script or something of my own?

Cheers!

@tomkmb, you like fine in terms of amount of images. But it's strange how that person's UID is not in the config file. Did you not replace the old config with the one in the most recent update pack?

My suggestion would be to download just the 2024.04 update pack, and replace your config file with the config file from that pack.

Thanks for the response - Yeah when I bring in the update pack I copy all of it in, including the config - so I've got no idea what happened there.

I've now updated it with the .04 pack from my downloads folder and that particular one is working now. I'm assuming the Xml is autopopulated based on the contents of the picture folder so for an item to be in the pics folder but not in the config is very unlikely right?

I generate the config file myself and upload it with each update pack. Can't understand how the one you had didn't have that particular image 😕

Hmm - yeah that is very strange - I'm gonna run a script that cross checks the images folder and then the config to see if there are any others missing. I definitely downloaded all update packs and installed chronologically before - so I'll share that as a .txt file here if that would be of any interest? If there are any results of course.

Sure, but I suspect it's something you might not have done correctly at your end since it doesn't seem to be a common issue at all.

It's possible, though as I said - I had the megapack installed from launch of FM24 (a clean install as I changed PC) and then last week I installed all updates in chronological order. I presume that each update's config file contains the entirety of the previous updates config information plus it's new information? Obviously the picture packs are just the updates otherwise the file would be huge each time. So I'm not sure how else I could have missed them but if anything is obvious to you in my process please let me know. Seems like there were a few that are not in the config file (I replaced mine with the 0.4 last night as you said) - if these highlight anything to you let me know and I'll be sure to do it differently next time!

Those are all essentially UIDs of players who were either input incorrectly at some stage, assigned wrongly or otherwise not included correctly. Once an image is included in an update pack, and downloaded on someone's PC, we have no way of removing it, so what we do is just remove it from the config file, so the game doesn't read it at all.

Going by your download history, I suggest you delete everything you have and download just the 2024.04 complete pack. You should have everything you need then.

That's got nothing to do with this megapack because they are added people to the game, which cannot be included as part of this pack.

I'm trying to add pics (for a mod).

I noticed that in faces folder some pics are 250x250 and some 180x180.

Which size is “correct” or suggested?

Thanks.

It's 250x250, but if the source isn't large or good enough, then 180x is fine.
