Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Can´t seem to get fixed it, reloaded skin several times, changed folder + subfolders name in Documents paths… Still didn´t work.

Would apreciate the help

Point 12 of the FAQ in the first post addresses this:

12. I’m using a previous version of FM and some of the images aren’t displaying properly after I downloaded the 2022.0 torrent file

The 22.0 torrent file was compressed in a way which has this effect on some images. It is suggested that you download an older torrent file which should not have this issue. Download links for older torrent versions is being made available below. It is recommended that you download the torrent file for the version after the one you’re playing since this will include all the update packs released for that iteration 😉

sortitoutsi_megapack_4.00 - uploaded before the release of FM12
sortitoutsi_megapack_5.00 - uploaded before the release of FM13
sortitoutsi_cutout_megapack_6.00 - uploaded before the release of FM14
sortitoutsi_cutout_megapack_7.00 - uploaded before the release of FM15
sortitoutsi_cutout_megapack_8.00 - uploaded before the release of FM16
sortitoutsi_cutout_megapack_9.00 - uploaded before the release of FM17
sortitoutsi_cutout_megapack_10.00 - uploaded before the release of FM18
sortitoutsi_cutout_megapack_11.00 - uploaded before the release of FM19
sortitoutsi_cutout_megapack_12.00 - uploaded before the release of FM20
sortitoutsi_cutout_megapack_13.00 - uploaded before the release of FM21
The older the torrent version you’ll download, the less likely it’ll be there’ll be any seeds for it, naturally.

Cheers for the response. It created a sub-folder in graphics, called sortitoutsi. Inside this was the faces and icon faces folder, but it wouldn’t allow me to move these folders from there. Gave up and deleted everything, and the games original faces returned instead of the empty spaces.

Decided to follow the guide video above. Downloaded the files againand tried to extract them to the graphics folder. Now I’m getting ‘An unexpected error is preventing the archive from being extracted’ I give up now, and my little lad is very disappointed in me🙈

Trying again to do this from scratch. Do you have to wait for the folders to sync before extracting? Anyway I can’t download them all now as my one drive is running out of space. Never had this issue with previous versions, nor did I in my first two attempts with this face-pack Why are the files not stored in the computer internally rather than the one drive?

Delete everything you have downloaded/installed with regards to the cut-out megapack, and start again from scratch.

The reason I asked you to provide screenshots of your megapack folder, showing clearly the full path it’s located in as well as how many images are in that folder, is that I need to see what you've done and where before having any idea what's happened to make the pack not work. Please do so from now on, so that I can help.

For example, you now mention you've placed the files on your OneDrive folder - that is not part of the installation instructions 😕

The Sports Interactive Folder appears here

I'm not sure it should be. It should be in the Documents folder, not on your OneDrive folder.

Secondly, I'd like to see your megapack folder, i.e. the one where the images are included.

That is the only documents folder. The megapack folder automatically goes into the downloads folder on the C drive. Where should the Sports Interactive folder be created?

I’m just downloading them again. Won’t be able to show how many images are there because it can’t extract to there due to one drive storage

Don't have them sync to onedrive then. If they aren't in the Documents folder, the game can't read them…

Stopped them from going to one-drive, must have defaulted to that when I was uninstalling/re-installing stuff

Anyway, now I can't extract the files

You haven't installed it correctly. See the video above on how to do it properly.

If you think you did the right thing, then post screenshots of your megapack folder, showing clearly the full path it’s located in as well as how many images are in that folder

So the reason for the no silhouettes was an extra config file that somehow got in there but some faces still aren't showing up in game. Did a quick check with the player numbers and heres an example of what I mean. I have reloaded the skin multiple times with no luck

Does the config file that you have in your faces folder contain a line with that UID?

Again, how many images do you have in your faces folder?

Open it with Notepad (or equivalent) and use that program's search function to look for that UID.

Going by your download history, I see what's happened. You've downloaded the base pack, then the most recent update pack only.

You should now download update packs 2024.01 - 2024.05, and apply them all chronologically. You should overwrite files when prompted.

It's such a new file that sometimes antiviruses mark it as a false positive.

That means you've either messed up the installation process somehow or not downloaded the full megapack.

You should have one folder which contains all the faces and another which includes all the iconfaces. If you have sub-folders somewhere, what you're experiencing is what will happen. Here's a video on how to install update packs:

I have actually followed this very tutorial as I have scrolled thru to see someone had the same issue, but it didn't work. What's interesting I noticed, this bug only occurs on players who've previously only had a black silhouette anyway, as the players who all had a face beforehand all work, I've even redownloaded the entire pack to test it, and still the very same players have the face missing even without the update and just as the entire pack

A blank space means there is a config file pointing to an image which isn't that folder. This usually happens when someone installs an update pack in a separate folder to the megapack base folder, or the megapack isn't fully installed. Can I have screenshots of your megapack folder, showing clearly the full path it’s located in, as well as of how many files and folders are inside it?
