So, after reports from Spain that Suarez had to apologise before Barcelona were willing to sign him he has today said this:

Safe to say he's going, or another coincidence?

At least he's actually had the decency to admit to something for a change rather than trying to be the victim all the time. But as its probably for completely the wrong reasons he may as well have said fuck all

Why?

It's blatant that Barca want him, he clearly has no love for England and he wasn't exactly on his best behaviour when he wanted a move last year.

He's as good as gone imo, if you can get Sanchez and anything north of about £30m thats excellent business.

Just dont see why Barca would be so intrested in a player banned for 4 months and with his reputation. Also we finally have CL football so I suspect hell do at least a season of it

Something i've just noticed...

PSG paid £50m for Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva who are 2 of the worlds best in their positions.
Southampton are selling Shaw and Lallana for around £55m-£60m (reportedly) based on potential and 1 top quality season each.

I know Shaw and Lallana are much younger, but I still struggle to get much head round that.

Always going to be a massive price difference when a team is in the situation Southampton are in (not needing the money) also team in the same league adds to the price tag, still abit of a markup obviously but its hardly a surprise.

Just me who thinks Steven Davis is Southampton's best player?

Always seems to completely run the show whenever I see Southampton.

Portuguese media are apparently running hard with William Carvalho to United rumours.

If we do that one I reckon our midfield will be basically sorted. Would be a shame not to add a 'name' especially if Kroos and Vidal do move, but nevertheless I think he'll provide great balance.

He is good and underrated to a degree. Jack Cork also plays well, and they certainly underuse Gaston Ramirez. Maybe he'll get a chance now Lallana is leaning in Liverpool.

In regards to William Carvalho, I don't know much about him. The rumoured fees are quite high.

Meanwhile:

Michael Laudrup has been appointed as the new coach of Lekhwiya, the Qatari club have announced.

The Dane has been out of a job since leaving Swansea in February, just a year after winning the Capital One Cup. The Doha-based outfit Lekhwiya are the champions of Qatar and were previously coached by the Belgian, Eric Gerets.

The club said on their official website that details of his contract would be announced at a later date. The former Barcelona and Real Madrid midfielder admitted he may look for a challenge beyond football management when his deal with Lekhwiya expires.

He told the Danish newspaper Politiken: “I’m now entering my final phase as a coach. Although whether Lekhwiya will be my final or penultimate club I can’t say. And I don’t know either whether this phase while last two, three of four years. The answer is blowing in the wind.”

A Portuguese journo described him as comparable defensively to Matic, with a similar range of passing but not as progressive going forward, the fee would be similar to Matic too.

Either way, I have a suspicion/wilddreamthatsnevergoingtocometrue that our primary interest is Vidal. Tuttosport have been constantly linking us to him and apparently he would be willing to join with Juventus not minding selling to improve other areas/keep Pogba. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/manchester-united-in-juve-talks-for-vidal-email-bid-acceptable-it

I'm sure someone would blow us out of the water for him, but its hard to see what other clubs truly need him in perhaps the way we do.

So it turns out Adam Lallana told Southampton he would never play for them again if they rejected Liverpool's bids.

He really has changed since he played for England

25m for Lallana is a joke. He's 26 years old and I haven't really been that impressed with him. I guess he slots in straight away when Suarez leaves.

It's not a comparable situation. Milan were trying to shed costs, and in the case of Ibrahimovic his ~€15m yearly salary made the list of clubs capable of buying him very short.

Jeremy Wilson of The Telegraph has said that we've tabled a £22m bid for Alexis Sanchez and have made him our top target this summer. I would fucking love it if we signed him and Barcelona bought Suarez but I am far from confident that we'll get him.

According to most people that have talked about it he doesn't really want to go to Liverpool, no one reliable has linked him to us, either, although since LVG joined its been very clear we're not leaking things anymore, but I'd say you're favourites from what appears to be being said.

I bloody hope so but I have next to no confidence with regards to us and the transfer market nowadays. If he wants to come to us then we should just pay the £30m Barcelona want and give him a fat contract, but I just fear we'll fuck about and let him go to Liverpool.

We signed Mesut Ozil last Summer, we don't have to fuck about anymore because we can afford to pay the same as near enough any team in the Premier. If he wants to join us then we will sign him.

I agree that the Ozil signing was superb but it doesn't mean we're now going to be super efficient in the transfer market. We're going to face competition for Sanchez.
