They've been in the third tier for around seven/eight seasons KEZ and it's time for that to end, or so I hope. Ha, unfortunately it's a different Max Meyer (obviously!) and I'd love for him to remain at the club long term but can't see it happening.

Yep, they've had a fall from grace bmg033, it's up to me (unless I get chopped) to bring them back to the Bundesliga.

Wolfsburg - End of season update 2052/53

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ouA36X3BufJYGkZ1TUGTG9pAk58aBMgdau71gx3V.png

It's time to wish everyone a "Happy New Year" to all my followers, we are now in the year twenty fifty three and we're still in the hunt for promotion to the second tier of German football unless we have a monumental collapse in the second part of the season. We have around seventeen league games remaining to try and secure Second Division football next season.

League - Third Division:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Dt5FVOzRP8KJdMwL7dIxTaUC1lD3sdUN9zt64Vl0.jpg

It was an enjoyable second part of the campaign as we only dropped points in six games but the most frustrating one was the three all draw away to Hoffenheim - we led three nil - the best result saw us come from two one down at half time to beat Munster seven goals to two at home. It turned out to be an enjoyable second stint in German football but did we secure the minimum of promotion?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/VinZtLGhos3Y5AadlS7TIP8eyRHD5UWshUw8rFHN.jpg

Champions! And for the first time in around eight seasons, Wolfsburg are out of the third tier of German football and hopefully never to return, at least while I'm manager. We finished twelve points ahead of runners-up Cottbus who have also been promoted while Stuttgarter K. will be in the play-off's.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Q84i564tRVVWMVt8uSS4mDLrTBajWsYnBKkiLqtJ.jpg

And the final piece of news has seen us agree a one year contract extension at the club that'll now see me deal finish at the end of June twenty fifty five, but I'd love to remain at the club until Germany is conquered but if a 'big' team job becomes available then I'd be stupid not to apply, right? Right?

This summer has seen me turn down a few job interviews from fellow German clubs, the most notable being Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, it was tough to decline the interview but I need to be committed at Wolfsburg . . . at least for now.

Cheers Dan.

Like I have said before Fola, Wolfsburg had been in the third tier of German football for around eight seasons before I took charge and sealed promotion to the Second Division and I'm under no illusions that it's going to be difficult but I just hope the board don't put too much pressure on me.

Wolfsburg - pre season round-up

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/GqkKQpgLVtGOb0WPxjpNrpaTKJ1z0rh7TQne2Hlj.png

Following our league success last season it meant the club had finally been promoted to the second tier of German football for the first time in around nine or so years and I knew it was going to be tough next season, especially if the board didn't give us 'realistic' expectations. We'll also be in the German Cup for the first time under my reign.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/4BKY6iZc2zJ65UVYqfu1nPwZCvearuxT0LXOLyNa.jpg

So yeah, the pressure is going to be on me from the beginning as the clubs board expect a minimum of a top half finish and that's a little unrealistic in my opinion but I'll sure try my best to achieve it nonetheless. We have been given a transfer budget of seventy five thousand but I don't know whether I'd use it or not.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/6RJUsaubIYz1DanmYK6cWdGSeA3wr1dv0xGqEbZ3.jpg

Just two players arrived and left the club this summer. The two players who joined the club was left back Eric Dao and central midfielder Mohammed Hosain Amiri who had agreed pre-contracts with Freiburg and Bremen respectively while leaving was Eric Toppmoller who left when his contract wasn't renewed and left back Murphy Mutombo who went to Dusseldorf after refusing to sign a new deal.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hbzH8zDuG09QfwCOz8WzNjWqekhkZmqC42TmvKIZ.jpg

A perfect pre season!! Although the results don't matter in pre season as it's all about fitness, the four wins from four games should help for confidence purposes . . . or so I hope but it's going to be a tough league campaign.

We are predicted to finish the season in ninth place, it's going to be tough.

Wolfsburg - Mid season update 2053/54

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/RVMsxQ5g8K1pgbNHU6DlNqEdtY0nwbSwuLvMxOta.png

We have reached the winter break here in my second full season in German football and to say it's been a mixed season to date is an understatement. As I've said in the previous update (or at least I hope I did) we are predicted to finish the season in ninth place and I'd be delighted if we can achieve that this season.

German Cup:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/wZncw9Xtffhb4yYRY52yDg0zRu7JfG8AKyg7x7fg.jpg

Our run in this seasons German Cup came to an end in the third round after a seven one defeat away to Bundesliga side Dortmund who currently lead the top tier, Max Meyer scored our consolation goal that night - we beat RBL and Jena in the previous two rounds before our third round exit to the current German Cup holders.

League - Second Division:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zevkMaEJpubMLnpIIZ6G8wHJqSOqah7Mh9sx62ys.jpg

It's been a mixed first half of the season as we've really struggled to find consistency bar those back to back wins before the winter break, which I hope will be the turning point of our season while before that we had only won twice in the previous ten league games, beating Dusseldorf and Hamburg St. Pauli, it was a dreadful run of form.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/JAvJa16ZuqAoYhE8prho7IYmohiQPHbt2AtDcyEe.jpg

And that's why after nineteen league games we find ourselves down in fourteenth position and only two points ahead of Dusseldorf who occupy the relegation/promotion play-off position as they've also had a dreadful campaign following their relegation from the Bundesliga. My team are only three points behind our predicted ninth place finish and it's definitely achievable but we need to get consistency.

I'd love to turn the season around but it's going to be difficult, especially with how inconsistent we can be, it's frustrating to say the least Dan. The league is VERY tight at the moment.

Wolfsburg - End of season update 2053/54

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/LvftXJLPV5nesTqDJXWquDz4JfXE80Q1q4wrfeXd.png

It has been a frustrating first half of the league season as due to our inconsistent form, we find ourselves down in fourteenth place and only two points above the relegation/promotion play-off spot, but we are currently nine points above RW Essen who are second bottom, we need to try and climb away from danger.

League - Second Division:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/jnObxHvwiwxv6afT74zcuq0MMFE4PU3acQHsmgD5.jpg

So my second full season at Wolfsburg has come to an end and it's been a frustrating campaign for the club as yet again the inconsistency returned but at least we managed to avoid relegation and that's the important thing. Once again Max Meyer had a fantastic season for the club and it's a shame he's leaving after 'refusing' to sign a new deal, he'll be missed dearly.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fm0WJlyIqdU6VbtRyZSAYxtne72Iw9E6Jlhu2P9j.jpg

We have ended the season in tenth place below our pre season predicted ninth place finish and that's a shame but it was a promising enough campaign and something I'm confident we can build upon next season and maybe finish higher. The most annoying part is that we scored EIGHTY goals but still conceded more . . . something that needs to be addressed.

Wolfsburg - Pre season round-up

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/483mhvyEwHQNigLhQTnThzEX20NMC7eHdqFMzGGH.png

Last season we had some serious inconsistency as the club finished the campaign in tenth place, one lower than our predicted finish, this upcoming campaign is going to be just as difficult, if not more difficult especially considering we have ended up losing our star striker.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/6x3HCLUCXXJxABL1ofHLTFYYi4Cfwyyjcu1omQQp.jpg

Once again the clubs board expect a minimum of a mid-table finish and in the process, we're predicted fourteenth out of eighteen and it's going to be another tough campaign for the club as we must remain in at least the Second Division, we've been given a transfer budget of six hundred and fifty thousand pounds.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/uxOlGKqtry5xEUa0yUMI85QJB7FQeNGJAFKk8Ysb.jpg

I've ended up bringing in eight new faces this summer but once again it's unknown how many will be first team regulars. Trio Lucas Schmidt, Klaus Hirsch and Joachim Ammann agreed pre contracts from Berlin-Kopenick Dammfeld, Schalke and Bayern Munich respectively while Danus Ionescu, Daniel Bottcher, Sven Claes, Jordan Neill and Choi Sang-Hoon joined the club on free transfers.

Five players ended up departing the club this transfer window and the biggest departure saw star striker Max Meyer join Stuttgart on a free transfer - Michael Fleischer, Amanullah Zia and Jorg Artmann departed when I didn't renew their contracts while Reiner Riedle went to Hoffenheim.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WRFtmTXVHZLxB4lcmAPsSgxlAAO5D3gHT1VQ68o6.jpg

Can't complain with how the preperations for the season has went as we ended up playing seven friendlies, winning five of them - beating Lupo-Martini, CSKA Moscow, Goslar, Lok Leipzig and Fallersleben, we drew at home to Lens and lost at home to Watford.

Wolfsburg - Mid season update 2054/55

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/1GXHYR3cHefoRMAznFgwo2myJgkL6yG8mlRM0cNc.png

I've now entered my third season here at Wolfsburg and once again it's time for a mid season update and I expect a much better campaign this time around but once again it's going to be difficult, especially considering we don't have star man Max Meyer on our books anymore as he moved to Stuttgart on a free.

German Cup:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Je4bVzXohU7Qga5JRBTRCixm3EH8Nkyg16uBmNaf.jpg

We remain in the German Cup and we'll face Bundesliga side Paderborn at home in the third round of the competition and I'd like another Bundesliga scalp after we beat Schalke three goals to two after extra time in the second round while we beat Hoffenheim in the first round.

League - Second Division:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/446YDVj1J2VOQMQgym8hvf4dbHIx9uweVPVHcwGX.jpg

Even though we have only won once in the previous seven games which is frustrating, I can't complain how the first part of the league season has gone as it's been an improvement on last season. Our best result to date this season has to be the single goal win away to league favourites Stuttgart.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SdPq5p3ZRdXAc3hTvsDY1Yi7EP8E6ha9S4kIQiep.jpg

After nineteen league games we find ourselves lying in eight place and that's a major improvement [b]as after nineteen games last season we were down near the bottom[b] but the one win in seven league games is alarming and we need to win games as soon as possible or we'll end up in a relegation dogfight.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BjlCxAFNxcD9H2kF7ivw0Bylnl6IktrOZzb7kGqb.jpg

I'm also pleased to announce that I've agreed a two year contract extension at the club and that'll see the deal now expire at the end of June in the year twenty fifty seven, I had seven months remaining on my existing deal, rather I remain at the club next season remains to be seen.

Wolfsburg - End of season update 2054/55

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ZryPymfOXp3zMvLlr0Kscw11qwy5rcrA31ZfSSMF.png

Once again it's time to wish everyone a belatent Happy New Year as we have now entered the year twenty fifty five, I am officially a 'coffin dodger' in the world (on the game, obv.) but I'm still mentally strong to take on this challenge to try and collect every trophy possible around the world, this is the end of season update at Wolfsburg and the question remains, will it be my last season at Die Wolfe?

German Cup:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2rTc4hJVYEuoGKDwWb2rgkoxAm0JwQYXx3RLFvmm.jpg

The run in this seasons German Cup ended in the third round following a defeat at home to Bundesliga side Paderborn, which we unfortunately lost on penalties after a three all draw after extra time. Thought we could have beat them, especially after beating Schalke in the previous round and we also beat Hoffenheim in the first round.

League - Second Division:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/8USq3esrB7fvkuD2nreDwA7teReCpWNac7j9llNj.jpg

I HATE our inconsistent form, after the winter break the form was excellent as we went seven games without a defeat (five wins and two draws) but then the form went dramatically downhill and the campaign ended with just one win and a draw from the previous eight games. Frustrating, we'll never achieve anything with inconsistency.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/3Ye53rdMthYPlZo7U22wcSv3n1LnqzUQw7YV4bdc.jpg

Despite the atrocious end to the campaign we defied our media expectations and secured an eighth place finish, the side were predicted to finish fourteenth and the pleasing thing was we conceded less goals than last season but also scored less goals as we definitely missed Max Meyer who ended up making zero league appearances for Stuttgart, great signing for them.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/CV4i7QPW3uxyaANhHKme3tkyxDVBVTsqPNNDgYMY.jpg

It was a tough decision to make as I was enjoying my time at the club but I have decided to 'part company' with Wolfsburg and tender my resignation with immediate effect and despite all the 'hard work' I put in, we could only lift the Third Division title in twenty fifty three and that's a shame...

Everyone deserves a second chance

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/iGNG0GDjsFRjqjedpmvKvUOoUVtSlXZkq7KkMCCU.png

The resignation was accepted by the board of directors at Wolfsburg as I looked towards another adventure in football manager as my motivation continues in this 'epic' career to date. Because I only have three leagues loaded (that haven't been completed) then the job was going to be either in Switzerland, Scotland or remaining in Germany.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/k6Y3jaTwEUc3oswtCkzhUEgEza7YHUabUCqO6Ujm.jpg

I am returning to Broadwood Stadium for the first time in almost forty years as I 'wowed' them in the job interview, even though I got a question from the chairman - "why should I give you a second chance", my response was "because I f**king said so". The club were relegated from the Championship last season and are predicted to finish in third place, I have been given a transfer budget of one point four million pound but I might push some of that into the wage budget, I haven't decided yet.

Clyde - pre season round-up

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/gbtKXoLqNNMqX8RxL1dDVyiRw9GIBuXaXV2Vytfe.png

It may have taken almost forty years but I have finally returned to Clyde Football Club determined to get the club promoted back to the Championship at the first time of asking and in return meaning I've chalked off Scotland once and for all but it isn't going to be difference that's for sure. The club are predicted to finish the campaign in third place.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/u6wjfQ0Y1fnHpEwI1SmuhmDbAkeoQeeo27cutE5l.jpg

Before my arrival, Clyde had already brought in several new faces but due to the lack of central midfielder's I decided to bring in Matt Marshall and Jack Barrowman on free transfers while I also captured centre back Marco Ricci on a free too, I'm sure they'll all be key players for the club this season on our potential promotion push.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/6W9LdAMJ0vTMyHYCnltwV10eNbbkyvsAzT7uP0Dv.jpg

I can't complain with how the pre season programme went as we didn't lose a single game from our five friendlies played. We managed to beat Cove Rangers, BSC Glasgow away from home and Cambuslang Rangers at home while we drew at home to Wrexham and home to Partick in Coll's testimonial game.

Clyde - Mid season update 2055/56

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ukCwoUCXpdedMCxDeW1JlyX8QV0DDthWHt9WiILb.png

On my return to Clyde Football Club, I have reached the end of the calendar year in twenty fifty five and it hasn't been a bad season to date . . . in the league anyway but the board are currently monitoring the harmony amongst the squad so don't be surprised if I end up getting the sack again for the second time from the same chairman if I remember correctly but I hope I don't.

Challenge Cup:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/j00ZyzlWwSpIU1vcHAb8OThrryKlF9hr7w3xyyuX.jpg

This competition has been previously won so when we lost the final to my former employers Inverness Caledonian Thistle (the team who I won the trophy with) I wasn't too 'disheartened'. We had a 'home run' to the final as we seen off Dumbarton, Stranraer, Kilmarnock and Forfar in the previous four rounds before losing the final to Caley Thistle.

League Cup:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/EAOAP1lsONEtPmMpmBH987xs9AcN32zBDFcLj8Wq.jpg

Another competition in Scotland that wasn't important but I was a little disappointed to have crashed out in the second round but we did face a tough trip to Dunfermline Athletic who play in the Championship iirc, Matt Marshall scored our goal and we had previously beat Motherwell in the first round before the exit at East End Park.

Scottish Cup:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/AYw3fB6g2m6vY186gP4vxkpsZGrIzoXmiO5HlUYH.jpg

The less said about the Scottish Cup the better! Yes we have already won the competition but it doesn't hide the fact that I was highly annoyed with our third round exit (first hurdle for the club) at the hands of fellow League 1 side East Fife.

League - League 1:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ThDe15TdJvYbBjoEYwCZ9zG0sLJHJtruw5fMY2pA.jpg

With just five league defeats and two draws from our opening nineteen league games, we have had an outstanding first half of the campaign and I really hope that remains the same when we resume league action on New Years Day for the final batch of league fixtures as we look to secure League 1 and in return chalking of Scotland once and for all. I was angry after losing 4-0 at home to second bottom Motherwell, I couldn't find any excuses for that defeat.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SqPFjPBMzrnR5jJMmQfjzXOnafNVPaqCsJX4Bvlj.jpg

Sitting top of the table and six points clear of second placed Stranraer, I can't get carried away as their is still seventeen league games remaining and I'd love to get over the finishing line and avoid the 'circus' of the play-off's. In the league we have scored forty seven goals but conceded thirty five and that's far too many in my opinion and needs to be addressed.

Once again it's time to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I have reached the second half of the league season here at Clyde and things haven't been going too bad bar early exits in both the League Cup and Scottish Cup but in hindsight that's a good thing as now it's straight league games until the end of the season, no distractions, no excuses.

League - League 1:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/lOUrpCXbsWfh9slbYuPkogoCdyyVqMvlJ8atoQFW.jpg

Wow! Now that's what you call a remarkable run of form in the second half of the league season as we only lost three games, two at the end of the season and four draws, three of them being a row against Airdrie, Arbroath and Motherwell. Only three clean sheets were kept in the remaining seventeen league games but c'est le vie.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SULVLjkw8yJJAwoNAJaH9EWPEaEH0HN5meqZfaNw.jpg

That excellent second part of the 2055/56 campaign was enough to see us crowned as champions and in return meaning I can chalk Scotland off once and for all, we ended the campaign seven points ahead of Airdrie who along with St. Johnstone and East Fife must contest in the play-off's.

Trying to win the league with Wolfsburg was going to be near on impossible and that's a shame itchycoo and then they ended up getting relegated back to 3. Welcome back to Susie Benniewijs, I hope you're more regular now again. Dan and I were chatting (mostly rubbish) on PM about doing this challenge - not in aplhabetical order - and trying to make this our one and only career on Football Manager 2015, around six months done the line I think we've kept our promise . . . to date.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ig2RHfsq4meNrDixikm7Lyr2F8QQPwR9v9Y7djiN.png

After handing in my resignation at Clyde at the end of April following the League 1 success, I had to wait around six/seven months to get my next break in football manager - after being unsuccessful (without even getting an interview) at Hannover, Diusburg and then the giants of Dortmund, I didn't know when my next managers job was coming, and then a job that I wanted the last time, finally came.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/sRdYx8nl1i25scWTMgMoK3CdYN7veN62JFzVZ2pn.jpg

I 'watched' their 2-0 Bundesliga defeat against Hertha Berlin not knowing what would have happened, but a single goal extra time defeat in the German Cup singled the end of Tita at Stuttgart and now I was ready to make my next move.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/NBQlOVGIF5mKMsmrr0ajeCejcDlWuHidzTWjjBKp.jpg

I applied for the job as I'm sure many expected when it became available, then I attended the interview and done enough to impress them to be offered the post at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena. They're expected to win promotion and even though they're mid-table, they're not adrift and it's doable but providing I get off to a good start.

Just five league games are remaining before the winter break and they're all winnable . . .

Stuttgart - The first 5 league games

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/gpaOpMBFpn7uK8ECmE1kfQ4WMpnf25TFLMFovBcg.png

Just five league games were remaining before the winter break here in Germany and with the club being dumped out of the German Cup which led to the previous manager being sacked, it means it's nothing but straight league games on the quest for promotion back to the Bundesliga at the first time of asking - something they achieved the last time they were relegated, something like two seasons ago.

League - Second Division:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/6hVUaVHYPeJpkK47P0nzH2FRnX0owvlQD3sgC8ZH.jpg

Don't think I could have asked for a more perfect start to life at the club although we were lucky to secure a home victory over Duisburg - despite winning 1-0, we were battered for the majority of the game - we should have beat basement side Grobaspach easier but I can't overly complain.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/eMrCnpYx2zdrNDRJgfNrQweiXOJ5hmoVRnXYIpTR.jpg

After nineteen league games (five in charge for me), I have lifted Stuttgart up to fourth place in the standings and seven points behind the leaders but we're also only twelve points ahead of RW Essen who are currently down in sixteenth place so consistency is very important in our aim for promotion, one way or another.

My time at Stuttgart ended in one hundred and sixty days and they were limited from my very beginning due to the clubs board being idiotic, complaining about I should be preforming better as manager after only five games (four wins in those five), they also began moaning about squad harmony and that affected the performances on the field and it led to just one decision from the board . . .

. . . I've been sacked. The reason "failure to improve squad harmony" was given and I don't agree with it one bit as I sure tried to change it but it was quite impossible and the previous manager, who supported me at times (along with the fans) should be blamed for not selling the players who were unhappy. One hundred and sixty days in charge, really thought I could have made it until the end of the season.

You can see for yourself that the form after the winter break was inconsistent to say the very least. I ended up being in charge for ten games after the break, winning just four of them and losing the other six, they could have used the excuse 'poor league position' for my departure but no, they went with the lame "squad harmony".

I leave the club lying in tenth place and only ten points behind the leaders with them having five league games remaining a chance for a real push to finish in at least in a play-off spot but it wasn't to be and c'est le vie. I feel I was never really wanted at the club, hence why I was under pressure quite early on for no (proper) valid reason.

Well well well, of all that success we've had in the years on our current saves, now neither of us are in much luck!

We aren't, are we Dan? You get sacked for doing poorly while I get sacked for always breaking promises. Our luck HAS to change.

Staying put

Around three months ago I was chopped as manager of second division side Stuttgart after only one hundred and sixty days in charge and that sacking last me frustrated as I felt 'defenceless' but I've found a job that I had previously applied for one year ago only to be unsuccessful, could I have more luck this time around?

Oh yes, I've got the job I applied for last summer! After finishing second last season they sacked their manager so the pressure is indeed on me from the very beginning but that's fine because I relish the pressure. The club have only given me a one year deal and a transfer budget of just over two million pound but that could easily be 'modified' by reducing the wage budget slightly.

It's a good chance to chalk three domestic trophies off here if I'm lucky, or I'll be sacked again.

I guess the Dortmund board saw what the Stuttgart one couldn't. A great opportunity this!

One year ago they laughed me off bmg033, glad they didn't this time around.

The previous manager got sacked after finishing second and a trophy-less season if I remember correctly Dan, the pressure is on!

Yep and it's Stuttgart's loss itchycoo, they can remain in the second division while I (hopefully) wrap up the domestic treble with Dortmund this season although it won't be easy.

Dortmund - pre season round-up

Whenever I got chopped as manager of Stuttgart for 'broken promises', I didn't think I would have landed on my feet (so to speak) but when the Dortmund job became available and I passed the interview and got offered the job, well, I couldn't exactly say no to a German club who have been dominating recent seasons although Koln won the league last season.

I've brought three new players, the signing of Andreas Beckmann on a free transfer from Bayern Munich was agreed before I arrived but I have spent almost five million on defender Jean-Marc Renson who will be first choice while the other trio of Andreas Beckmann, Yuzo Shigeta and Ole Hansen will be back-up.

Despite being rated at five stars, I let Adigun Onwuekulu join Real Madrid for ten million pounds and that's pretty good money for a thirty five year old. Moritz Sauer, Moussa Kodio and Kevin Kuhn left the club on frees after agreeing pre contracts elsewhere while I also let Robin Blaszak and Samet Ozdas depart the club this summer.

A draw away to Auxerre stopped it being a perfect pre season friendly campaign but I can't complain too much as we scored goals in every game but also only kept three clean sheets from the eight games but that's fine as the players needed to get used to my formation and I hope they are now as our season begins with a German Super Cup game against Koln.
