Crosses, Killed by crosses.

Hi.

My frustration in this new game is getting to the level of me wanting my money back.

I've been playing this game for years and never have i seen a situation/bug like it, honestly. I've been playing with my tactics like a madman trying to counter this but yet nothing, it seems every single cross from the byline falls nicely into the feet of a opposition forward to tap into the back of the net, it's sickening, repetitive and hardly enjoyable.

Is anyone else finding this? Have you managed to counter it or am i having some sort of bad luck?

To explain the history of this i've played two clubs Velez (got fired for bad results) and bottom club Norwich (not sure how i got the job but i took it on) i'm playing a 4-2-3-1 much like Chelsea's formation with 3 attacking midfielders sitting behind a target man, i also play an away or vs big team formation 4-5-1 which is very deep with defensive wingers.

I've tried all types of setting from very rigid to very fluid, full backs set to defend. Defence both pushing up and sitting back, narrow and wide, offside trap, no offside trap... Yet still the same types of goals every game.

I'd moan less if it was a veration of goals but it's not it's just crosses and tap in's with my defenders being no where to be seen.

HELP!

Pretty sure the new patch sorted this out. I'm not really noticing that many goals from crosses at all

Thats right. Try starting a new game.

I've ended up with a new team going to test out the same tactics to see if it was just sheer bad luck or not.

If not ill start a new game although the update was already install before i started this save.

I've noticed a lot of the goals I concede are from crosses. I am still playing through from my first career on this version and it happens a lot.

I still get decent results, just dread a cross coming in because they almost always end up in the back of the net.

As I say, it doesn't seem to be a major problem, just slightly higher than normal.

Ive only just purchased the game on Friday, so it already had 13.1.3, so im not sure what it was like before, but iv played 14 league matches so far, and i think i only remember 2 goals in that period of games that was from crosses, it could be a few more, however if it was a problem i think i'd of noticed it more.

99% of the goals I conceded is from crosses, it's completely frustration... never have this in CM/FM match engine in 20yrs...
the fullbacks can't block the crosses, never, not even one time, the central back can't mark the strikers, or score own goals... opp. strikers score from far post with ZERO angle...

all the time, worst thing cause you know its going to happen you can see it. 85% of CPU goals are from near post or byline cross going to far post for a tap in

I've enjoyed the crosses "glitch." Just finished a season with Tottenham playing a 3-5-2. BTW I got Cavani at 25.5m and he is a BEAST! He got something like 56 goals in 53 appearances. Bale and Lennon got a combined assists tally of like 40+. The corner "glitch" has not been as effective this year but crossing has. Thank God I stopped my Barcelona tactic obsession.

I suggest defending deeper and giving your full backs, if you use any, less freedom and more defensive mentality with man marking. I have a rigid philosophy set with my full backs (auto) in my 4-2-3-1 and I never seem to have a problem with crosses. Just make sure your full backs have pace.

Remember 2008? I think I got over 40 goals with a striker with near post flick-on.

This kind of thing happens in every FM. Eventually it gets fixed. I still don't see it as a problem here, though (but I noticed a lot of goals from crosses.)
