My name is Paul Jerone, and this is, my story!
Allow me to take you back to 1971. I was born on a rainy day, on a very gray sunday, in London. My father Bernard was a footballer. He played for 5 seasons with teams like Leeds, Rotherham, and Aston Villa, until he broke his leg and retired. His dream was cut short. He always wanted to win Premier League, and since he couldn't do it he got me into Football.
When i was 9 my parents moved to Manchester. That allowed me to join the Man United academy.
I didn't make it though. I was released at just 17. I felt like the world stopped moving that day. Like life wasn't worth living. But then, i got offered a contract at Mansfield. And that's how it all started.
I remember my debut. I was wearing number 32, i came in as a substitute that day, after the main striker had some muscle injury. I did amazingly good that day and i won the trust of the supporters and the club.
I played for 4 seasons there, scoring 51 goals. Everybody loved me, and i loved everybody, but i couldn't reject a team like Leeds. Things weren't working out in the beginning. I played 19 games on my first two seasons scoring just 3 goals. I was basically a disappointment. But things eventually got better. After 7 seasons at Leeds and 118 goals, After 29 apparences for England, and 10 goals i got my first international offer. Roma and Manchester United wanted me. I could go to Italy, and play alongside a player like Totti, or i could jump a division up at Manchester United, my childhood team, and try to win Premier League.
In the end i decided to move back to Manchester and make my dad proud. That season was so entertaining. We we're constantly going from 2 to 1 and 1 to 2 against Arsenal. And surprisingly the last game of the season was against the Gunners. We had 73 points each, and i was the only available striker for the day. The manager had made 3 substitutions already, and it was the 82 minute when one of the defenders made an horrible tackle, and basically knocked me out. That's where my career ended. The doctors said that i could never play football in my life, I could never run, or play any sport. What happened with the game? Arsenal scored in the 87th minute, leaving everybody at Old Trafford in tears. I was named the best goalscorer with 34 goals, and United retired my #32 shirt, but that was it. I was soulless. Until...
(The player story was inspired by my Fifa 2017 career)
A few years later i was offered a contract at Mansfield. They need a manager and they are willing to trust me the job. Supporters aren't happy, but the boss apparently knows what he's doing. As for me...i spended the next couple years working for Man United academy and now was my time, to start all over again. I felt like i was given a second chance. And it all starts...NOW
