07.09.2022 - Slovenian Cup 2nd Round - Dob (H) - 2-1
We entered the cup in the 2nd round and got a fairly tricky tie against Dob. We came through it just about after playing an alright game. Noting special, nothing disastorous.
Tilen Nagode scored the opener on the 26th minute when he tapped in a low cross from the left wing. Tilen Nagode got his 2nd of the game in the 2nd half with a powerful header to make it 2-0. Things got harder for us when Tjaz Polajazer got himself sent off with a horror tackle that earned him a straight red. Dob got their consolation goal in the 82nd minute but we held on to claim the win. A tough draw against Maribor awaits us.
10.09.2022 - Slovenian First League - Domzale (H) - 2-1
We continued our good form in the league with a solid 2-1 victory. Blaz Poljanec scored a well worked team goal and he cooly finished at the back post from a delicious cross. Domzale made it 1-1 in the 32nd minute to make it equal at half time. We left it late in the second half and after piling on the pressure Matija Bozic scored a great free-kick to make it 2-1 and to give us the 3 points.
18.09.2022 - Slovenian First League - Olimpija (A) - [1-1/i]
[i]Playing a team in form isn't easy and we coped with their attacking threat well. We just couldn't score many of our chances and ultimately a draw is a good result. They went ahead just after the break through some poor defending but in the 73rd minute, we won a corner which was headed home by Goran Tzerziev to gain a point for us.
21.09.2022 - Slovenian First League - Dob (H) - 2-0
The second time we played Dob this month and the 2nd time we've won. A better performance this time around and a better defensive one. Bede Amarachi Osuji got a poachers goal when he tapped in from a goalmouth scramble. Newboy Franko Kovacevic got his first for the club when he converted a last minute penalty.
24.09.2022 - Slovenian First League - Celje (H) - 2-0
We made it 2 wins in a row when we beat fellow title challengers Celje. Jan Humar scored from 25 yards with a placed shot into the corner to give us the lead. We dominated the game and when Tilen Nagode raced through and scored his first the game was secured. 2-0 final score.
Back on top where we belong. Happy days. We had a good month and it seems better now we're out of Europe. We've bought in some new additions and let a few go and this seems to have worked out well for us. Let's hope this continues. I'm aiming for the double this year.

01.10.2022 - Slovenian First League - Triglav (A) - 3-2
What. A. Game. I never wanted this to end. It was end to end, and I'm delighted I've come out of it with the right result. Both teams were a delight to watch. They took the lead first with a free flowing move finished off nicely. Right on the stroke of half time Tilen Nagode got the equaliser from a corner. We took the lead in the 65th minute when Matija Bozic placed his shot into the right hand corner to make it 2-1. They equalised when Matej Poplatnik got his second of the game. 2-2. Andrej Kotnik got the eventual winner in the 80th minute when he rounded the keeper and passed it into the net. A great game and a great win.
15.10.2022 - Slovenian First League - Maribor (A) - 2-0
Of all teams to lose to, I didn't want to lose to Maribor. They battered us truth be told. We weren't at the races and I'm disappointed. Maribor took their chances and we didn't simple as that. Moving on quickly...
22.10.2022 - Slovenian First League - Koper (H) - 5-1
We returned to form, and we returned to goalscoring form with it. Bede Amarachi Osuje got us off to a flyer with his goal in the 6th minute. Tilen Nagode scored a wonderful hattrick that included 2 penalties. He ultimately earned himself the man of the match with the wonderful display. Phil Ofosu-Ayeh got himself on the scoresheet with a wonder strike. He's just joined from my old team FCSB!
26.10.2022 - Slovenian Cup Qtr Final 1st Leg - Maribor (H) - 1-0
What a great win. Against a team that just battered me in the league as well. We were much improved from that game and when Tilen Nagode curled a shot round the keeper to score things were looking good. They piled on the pressure but we held firm and got the win. Let's see what happens in the 2nd leg.
29.10.2022 - Slovenian First League - Radomlje (H) - 1-0
An absolute shocker of a performance against the bottom club. We were so so poor and I don't understand why. Both teams had a man sent off with two bad tackles. They grabbed the goal on a breakaway and we couldn't break them down. points lost.
We still sit top of the league but Maribor have 2 games in hand to draw level and probably go above us on goal difference. We've also got a key game in the cup coming up so my season is still on track.

05.11.2022 - Slovenian First League - Krkso (H) - 2-1
Back to winning ways in the league and that's the most important thing. It wasn't the most pretty of performances but we got the 3 points. Tilen Nagode got the first goal of the game with a powerful header from a great ball in from the right full back. Marko Jakolic got sent off for a two footed lunge, this is starting to happen more and more recently so I'll be looking into that. They equalised in the 62nd minute before Bede Amarachi Osuje got the winner in the 83rd minute with another header. A good win with 10 men.
09.11.2022 - Slovenian Cup Qtr Final 2nd Leg - Maribor (A) - 3-2
Even though we lost the game, we progressed into the semi final on away goals. Things didn't start well when we gave away a penalty which they converted to make it 1-0. Bede Amarachi Osuje scored a good goal to make it 1-1 before they once again took the lead in the 36th minute. It was 3-1 in the 61st minute before we got the important away winning goal in the 81st minute through Jan Humar. What a strike it was. An away goals win always tense.
19.11.2022 - Slovenian First League - Domzale (A) - 4-3
This game was so annoying. We were controlling it and leading it before both my full backs got themselves sent off for two yellow cards and they capitalised on the extra men and came back to win. Bede Amarachi Osuje got the first goal for us with another header and Tilen Nagode got a brace with a placed shot round the keeper and a tap in from a few yards out. I'm so annoyed with this one as we deserved to win and they didn't. Simple as.
27.11.2022 - Slovenian First League - Olimpija (H) - 2-1
Marko Jakolic grabbed the first goal of the game. He's standing in for the suspended right back and he's pushing for a start next time round to. Tilen Nagode made it 2-0 and things were looking good. We then conceded in the 64th minute to make it 2-1 and we just about managed to hold on for a much needed 3 points.
30.11.2022 - Slovenian First League - Triglav (H) - 3-2
Back to back wins and I'm a happy manager. Another sending off didn't help that though. Jan Humar the man this time. Bede Amarachi Osuje got the first on 5 minutes when he tapped home from 5 yards out. Marko Jakolic made it 2 from 2 with a penalty which he smashed into the top right corner. They dragged it back to 2-2 at half time. Anze Pisek scored the winner in the 51st minute and the 3 points were ours.
Top of the league and 7 points clear! That lead could be cut to 4 if Maribor win the game in hand but we're in a good position. We got a tough draw in the cup semi final against Olimpija so I hope for two good performances and to make the final.

DECEMBER 2022 UPDATE - GORICA
Only a short month as we now have the dreaded winter break. It takes so long to get through it and without any competitive football it's a bit of a bore. I may bring some players in and I'm sure some will leave me to go onto bigger clubs.
03.12.2022 - Slovenian First League - Dob (A) - 4-3
What a game of football. Goals galore and of course our usual sending off. It was 3-3 at at 90 minutes courtesy of goals from Matija Bozic, and two from Franko Kovacevic who netted from the spot for one of them. They equalised in the 90th minute themselves and I thought it was going to be points shared but Phil Ofosu-Ayeh had other thoughts as he pounced on a misplaced pass and raced up the pitch to slot the ball home. 4-3 the final score.
10.12.2022 - Slovenian First League - Celje (A) - 1-1
I don't know what it is about games before the winter break but I can never seem to win them. It was no different this time around as we stumbled to a draw. We gave away a penalty in the 47th minute which they scored from and we then piled on the pressure. Franko Kovacevic grabbed the equaliser later in the half when he volleyed home a corner. A 1-1 draw isn't too disastorous though.
We have a 10 point lead at the top and I'm hoping Maribor can't win their two games in hand that could bring it down to a 4 point lead. We're doing really well and long may it continue.

26.02.2023 - Slovenian First League - Maribor (H) - 1-0
A big win in what could be the biggest game of the season. It was a well matched game and I think we just about edged it out there. The deadlock was broken when Bede Amarachi Osuje raced through on goal and slotted it past the goalkeeper to the crowds delight. We held on for the remainder of the match to gain the 3 points. Huge win in a huge match.
05.03.2023 - Slovenian First League - Radomjle (A) - 4-0
We've really hit good form and we're scoring freely. The confidence within the squad can only bring about good performances and it certainly did today. Lan Struna got us off to a great start by scoring in the 8th minute. Franko Kovacevic grabbed a good goal in the 55th minute before Jani Curk steered one past the keeper to make it 3-0. Lan Struna rounded things off and got his second of the game with a good free-kick which curled past the goalkeeper. 4-0.
08.03.2023 - Slovenian First League - Koper (A) - 3-1
Frank Kovacevic had one of those days where he couldn't do anything wrong. Everything he touched turned into a goal. He was magnificent. His first goal was in the 17th minute when he tapped in from a delicious cross. In the 40th minute he volleyed home from the edge of the area in what could be goal of the season. His hattrick was complete when he rounded the keeper and passed the ball into the back of the net. Koper got a goal back in the 85th minute and it was just a consolation for them.
11.03.2023 - Slovenian First League - Domzale (H) - 1-1
Our win streak has come to an end. A lucky performance from Domzale but we can't win every game. It was an own goal in the 71st minute that rescued a draw for the visitors after we had gone ahead through Matija Bozic. We had our typical sending off when Blaz Poljanec lunged in and didn't get the ball. I don't think we will be winning the fair play award somehow...
19.03.2023 - Slovenian First League - Krkso (A) - 4-2
Back to winning ways and another 4 goal haul for my lads. We conceded 2 goals which is unusual for us but the win is the important thing as we come towards the end fo the season. Matija Bozic continued his good form as he grabbed a brace in the 8th and the 46th minute. Bede Amarachi Osuje also grabbed himself a brace when he scored in both the 11th and 21st minute. A good win to end the month.
We are sailing through this season and are 11 points clear of 2nd place. Could it be too early to celebrate? There is bound to be a twist somewhere in the season!

02.04.2023 - Slovenian First League - Olimpija (A) - 1-0
We kicked off the month with a great win over title rivals Olimpija. We played a good possession based game and we controlled it from the get go. Bede Amarachi Osuje grabbed the goal eventually after 86 minute. We just couldn't take a chance before then but we got there eventually.
05.04.2023 - Slovenian Cup Semi Final Leg 1 - Olimpija (A) - 5-2
Another game we dominated against the same team. We took more of our chances this time and the scoreline shows our dominance. Great away performance. Anze Pisek grabbed a brace in the 29th and 40th minutes. Andjelo Svalina got a rare goal in the 62nd minute. Franko Kovacevic got a brace as well when he scored in the 81st and 86th minute. A strong performance that sets us up nicely for the 2nd leg at home.
09.04.2023 - Slovenian First League - Dob (H) - 1-0
A rare loss in the league and I'm not happy with how we played. We didn't create our normal amount of chances and we didn't take one of the few we did create which is unusual. Dob went on the counter attack and score their only chance so it's annoying to see we lost. We've got a comfortable lead in the league which is the only positive about todays game.
12.04.2023 - Slovenian Cup Semi Final Leg 2 - Olimpija (H) - 1-0
Already having a huge lead on aggregate meant that we could go into this game without much to lose. We controlled the game and got the only goal of the game when Franko Kovacevic went through 1 and 1 and scored past the keeper to his right. It was a solid performance and we did what we had to do. We're in the final!
15.04.2023 - Slovenian First League - Triglav (A) - 2-2
It's not been the greatest of 2 games in the league. 1 loss and 1 draw isn't good enough for us. We went ahead through Matija Bozic as he scored a fantastic powerful header from a great ball in. They equalised before then taking the lead in the 2nd half. We left it late to get the equaliser but Bede Amarachi Osuje did just that and curled a shot round the keeper to make it 2-2. A point is better than none.
22.04.2023 - Slovenian First League - Celje (H) - 3-0
Much better performance from the lads. We play better against the better teams and we did just that today. Celje are battling for that European spot but they didn't show much against us. We outplayed them all game. Anze Pisek got the opening goal with a tap in from a goalmouth scramble. Bede Amarachi Osuje continued his good form of scoring when he scored in the 81st minute. Andjelo Svalina finished the job off and scored in the 83rd minute.
28.04.2023 - Slovenian First League - Koper (H) - 1-0
It's been a long time since we lost 2 in the same month but that's what happened and another at home. Koper were the better team on the day and they deserved the win. We didn't create many chances and they did. They also scored a goal of real quality. An all round team goal which deserved the finish it got. A shame to end on a loss but we will move on.
We're still at the top of the league and with only 4 games left we only need 4 points to guarentee the league. It's surely ours. I'd like to get it done early as possible so we can rest players for the cup final.

END OF SEASON 2022/23 - GORICA
07.05.2023 - Slovenian First League - Maribor (A) - 2-2
Another strong performance against last years champions led to a draw against them. We were evenly matched and this was probably the fair result. Matija Bozic gave us the best possible start as he scored in the opening 2 minutes to put us ahead. They equalised midway through the first half and we went into the break at 1-1. Franko Kovacevic put us back in front with a superb strike from 18 yards out. Unfortunately we had a momentary lapse in defence and they scored an equaliser in the 75th minute.
No-one could find the breakthrough and it ended 2-2.
10.05.2023 - Slovenian First League - Radomlje (H) - 1-1
Another draw makes it 2 from 2 this month. A game we should have won quite easily but we switched off for key parts of the game and we didn't make the most of our dominance. Anze Pisek made it 1-0 when he tapped in from a few yards out. We couldn't hold on though and they equalised in the very last minute of the game to make it a draw. BUT...
WE WON THE LEAGUE DUE TO OLIMPIJA DROPPING POINTS IN THEIR GAME. A BRILLIANT SEASON AND IT WAS WON WITH 2 GAMES LEFT TO SPARE!
13.05.2023 - Slovenian First League - Domzale (A) - 3-0
We went into the game on a high after winning the league! What a performance and a great way for us to repay our travelling support. Franko Kovacevic put us a head and continued his fine season of scoring since he joined us. Andrej Kotnic scored two goals in a superb man of the match performance and that was that. A win!
20.05.2023 - Slovenian First League - Krkso (H) - 3-0
We got to thank our away support last game out with a 3-0 win, so this time it was time to show our home support the same gratitude. Another 3-0 win and we went finished the season on a win. Matija Bozic scored the first with a superb run and finish. Franko Kovacevic continued his scoring form with the second goal and an own goal made it 3-0. A great way to end the league campaign.
SLOVENIAN LEAGUE CUP FINAL
The Slovenian League Cup is ours after a dramatic final. The first half was full of chances for both teams who were obviously both going for it. It was 0-0 at half time due to some great saves from both keepers. We pressed on in the 2nd half but couldn't find a way through and I thought it wasn't going to be our day when we missed an open net from a couple of yards out. Full time came and it was still 0-0. In the 92nd minute they went ahead through a breakaway goal from Davor Buric. Our heads didn't drop and we piled on the pressure and it finally told when Lan Struna scored just after the extra time restart in the 106th minute. We couldn't find the 2nd goal needed so it was to be penalties.

WE HAD WON!! 2 Trophies from 2 in my 2nd season in charge.

We had won the League title and the Slovenian Cup and all that was left for us to win was the Super Cup. We had been drawn against Radomlje so I was quietly confident that we could get the job done.
We had completed the treble and we had won it comfortably. Alijaz Sinkovec on his professional debut for the club scored the opener with a wonderful run past the defence and slotted it home past the keeper. What a start for the young lad. Franko Kovacevic made it 2-0 before the half time whistle with a sweet strike from 25 yards out. Goran Tzeriev completed the job on 51 minute with a powerful header from a corner. A simple win and one we did with style. Another cup success.
I had won everything I could with Gorica, so you know what happened next...
Where will I end up next, I think I know where I want to go, but time will soon tell...

I've travelled round 3 countries in Eastern Europe, so why not make it a 4th. After resigning as the manager of Gorica in Slovenia it hasn't taken me long to decide my next move. In fact I had already lined the country and job up before I left. The country is home to some of the most beautiful architecture in Europe, and also is home to Pilsner Urquell the worlds first pilsner beer. The country is...
CZECH REPUBLIC
Once again, I've never managed in the country before so why not give it a go. It seems to have worked for me previously. I've chosen to sign for a team in the lower tier of the nations football pyramid this time and build up to winning the top division hopefully. Similar to Novigrad, my first club. Let's hope that I can be as successful as I was there.

I've taken charge of SK Sigma Olomouc who were founded in 1919 and currently play in the Czech Second Division. They've only won the Czech Second Division once in their history and their only other successes were in the Czech FA Cup and the Czech Super Cup; both just the once. They have no fierce rivals but have a friendly rivalry with; Brno, Banik Ostrava, and Zin.
They play at the Andruv Stadion which houses a total of 12,541 people which is a fair size for the league. The club possesses Good training facilities, Good youth facilities, and Average junior coaching. Building up these facilities will probably be key if I want to take them up to the top of Czech football.

Current Squad:
Of all the player I have at my disposal the standout player seems to be Richard Kovacs who I will tell you more about after. Michal Prochazka at the young age of 17 is a huge talent to have and I'll be looking at him to boss the midfield. I have a fairly good size squad to choose from as well which is good for rotation. I never like having a huge squad at my disposal as I feel bad when I don't use some of them so I demote them to the reserve squad.
TRANSFERS
Richard Kovacs has come in from Videoton on a free transfer and goes in as my number one striker. He's only 19 and is ridiculously talented for the squad. He's instantly my best player so to get him for free is a real bargain. I can't wait to see how many goals he can score for me this season.
Jean Claude Billong comes in from Radomlje for a small fee of £32.5k and comes in to strengthen the centre of defence. He's a big lad and brings experience to the young squad I've got.
Vinnie Vemeer is my last actual signing and comes in from NAC for £32k. He will be used in a rotation for the centre of midfield and is a very good talent to have in the squad. He's a player that will look to play a 'Michael Carrick' kind of role.
PRE SEASON 2023
We had a very good preseason where the players learnt my new tactic that I'd brought with me. The same I've used all through my career and the one that's brought me great success. No wingers but possession through the middle of the park. We played 5 games, winning 4 of them and drawing the other. We scored an impressive 14 goals and conceded just 6 so that's a good ratio to have. I'm impressed with the squad and instantly it looks like Michal Prochazka is going to chip in with a number of goals

05.08.2023 - Czech FA Cup 1st Round - Trutnov (A) - 9-0
What a ridiculous way to start my time as manager. I didn't quite realise that they were in the lower leagues of Czech football so I put out a team that I thought would win and they duly did. Vaclac Jurecka got us going on the 5th minute with a well placed shot round the keeper. Richard Kovacs joined the scoring on 11 minutes before Michal Prochazka put us 3-0 up in the 14th minute. Erik Pipiska got the first of his 3 with a cheeky chip in the 20th minute. Kovacs got his 2nd of the game with a well hit strike right on the stroke of half time. Pipiska then got his 2nd of the game in the 59th minute when he went through 1 on 1. He completed his hattrick with a well taken penalty in the corner in the 62nd minute. Vladimir Aytov joined the fun with a good team goal when he tapped in from 3 yards. Misoslav Prochazka rounded things off to make it 9-0. What a way to start.
12.08.2023 - Czech Second Division - Sokolov (H) - 2-1
We kicked things off in the league with a good 2-1 win. The deadly duo as I'm going to call them now: Kovacs and Pipiska scored the two goals. Kovacs tapped in from a few yards out after a well worked move and a wonderful low cross. Pipiska made it 2-0 with a powerful header and that was it for the first half. Sokolov got one back in the 48th minute to make a nervy ending but we held out in the end. A good way to start the league.
16.08.2023 - Czech FA Cup 2nd Round - Kratonohy (A) - 5-0
Another FA Cup game and another dominant performance. Not quite the same score as last time but we scored 5 goals this time. Michal Prochazka got the first with a simple tap in in the 16th minute. Vaclav Jurecka got the first of his brace in the 38th minute to make it 2-0 at half time. Richard Kovacs got his first goal in the 54th minute with a header from a corner. Jurecka got his 2nd of the game in the 59th minute and that was 4-0. Kovacs wasn't done yet and rounded the keeper to make it 5-0 in the 91st minute.
20.08.2023 - Czech Second Division - Brno (A) - 2-0
We kept our good form going with a good 2-0 win over a good team. The deadly duo didn't score this time but Vladimir Aytov did the damage with a wonderful brace.
His first came when he raced through on goal and rounded the keeper in the 52nd minute. He got his second in the 63rd with a well struck effort from the edge of the area. A well controlled game and a good result to take home with us.
23.08.2023 - Ccezh Second Division - Ceske Budejovice (H) - 2-1
We lost for the first time under my control. We played fairly well but they got more of the luck. We went behind early on in the 13th minute with a well worked goal and then went 2-0 behind in the 69th minute. At this point we were still in the game and we controlling it without having got on the scoresheet. We got our consolation goal through Richard Kovacs in the 87th minute and had the chance to score an equaliser in the 89th but fluffed our lines. A shame really but no points this time round.
After 3 games, we sit 3rd in the league which is where we are predicted to finish by the media. The board want the title this time round so that's what I'm aiming for. We're only a point behind the leaders Taborsko so it's not disastorous at this stage and of course plenty of football yet to play.

03.09.2023 - Czech Second Division - Viktoria Zizkov (A) - 2-1
We kick this busy month of 6 games off with an impressive hard fought victory. We went behind early on in the 15th minute but we fought back immediately and on the 18th minute that man Richard Kovacs scored a fine goal after a good team move. It remained 1-1 at half time. In the 56th minute defensive midfielder Vladimir Aytov produced a moment of pure class when he hit a strike from 30 yards out right into the top corner. A goal that deserved to win any game and it did!
13.09.2023 - Czech Second Division - Vlasim (A) - 1-1
We were involved in a tough battle against Vlasim which ended in a share of the points. They went ahead in the 28th minute when they hit a shot towards the near post and Milan Heca our goalkeeper fumbled it and spilt it in off the post into the net. So annoying when that happens. New wonderboy John O'Sullivan on his debut for the club gained us a point in the 2nd half though when he let rip from 20 yards into the bottom corner. 1-1 the final score.
16.09.2023 - Czech Second Division - Opava (H) - 1-0
Back to winning ways in the league and it was courtesy of our big centre half Jean Claude Billong who scored a fine header in the 27th minute from a great corner into the box. We controlled the game from that point and should have scored again but didn't take any of our chances. A fine display and 3 points on the board.
24.09.2023 - Czech Second Division - Most (A) - 1-0
Another 3 points in the bag and another good display of football. Possession seems to be the key for me and a nice passing game works wonders. On the stroke of half time it was one of those passing moves that got us the opening goal through Richard Kovacs who continued his good goalscoring form. Another 1-0 win and we continue the run.
27.09.2023 - Czech FA Cup 3rd Round - Znojmo (H) - 2-0
We progressed into the next round of the FA Cup with a fantastic win over First Division side Znojmo who sit mid table in their division. I didn't know what to expect but the lads put on a show for the home fans. It was the main man Richard Kovacs who got the goals, the first when he raced through on goal in the 23rd minute and slotted it home. He got his 2nd in the 2nd half when we hit them on the counter ruthlessly. We held on to the lead and knocked out a higher division team. Huge performance.
30.09.2023 - Czech Second Division - Trinec (H) - 3-0
Our final game of the month and we ended the month unbeaten. A fine display and we never looked troubled this time out. Vladimir Matrinka the 6ft3 centre half scored a header from a sumptuous ball in from the full back Jaromir Borovicka. It ws Richard Kovacs who made it 2-0 in the 2nd half when he fired home from a few yards out. Akrim Afif got the 3rd and final goal when he hit one from the edge of the area in the 92nd minute. A good display and some fine football on show.
An unbeaten month and progression in the FA Cup. This form has lifted us up into 1st place I'm guessing on goals scored as everything is evenly matched in the table. We're expected to win the league so here's hoping this is now our home for the season.

04.10.2023 - Czech Second Division - Frydek-Mistek (A) - 4-2
This is not how I wanted to start this month. A shocking performance and we never looked like winning the game. They counter attacked us constantly and I couldn't change the tactics well enough to ensure this stopped happening. We went 2-0 down within the first 21 minutes and we never recovered. Vinnie Vemeer scored his first for the club when he netted a free-kick on the 30th minute. Unfortunately they went 4-1 up on the 51st minute after more shoddy defending. We got a consolation goal from Richard Kovacs who bundled the ball home after a free for all in the penalty area. 4-2 the final score and I'm not happy with it. By the way, they sat bottom at the time.
11.10.2023 - Czech Second Division - Bohemians Praha (H) - 3-0
The rollocking at the end of the last match obviously did the trick. Richard Kovacs made it 2 from 2 when he netted in the 5th minute. An own goal from Sascha Wenniger meant it was 2-0 before half time. We controlled the game throughout the 2nd half and they hardly had a sniff. In the 84th minute Erik Pipiska made it 3-0 and wrapped the result up. 3 points in the bag.
22.10.2023 - Czech Second Division - Kladno (A) - 5-3
An absolute spectacle of a match. 8 goals and all were fairly decent strikes. Vaclav Jurecka put us ahead in the 1st minute with a wonderfully taken free-kick into the top right hand corner. It was soon 2-0 in the 3rd minute when Robert Kovacs rounded the keeper and slotted it home. They pulled one back in the 27th minute to make it 2-1 at half time. In the second half we made it 3-1 when Michal Prochazka hit a curling effort from 20 yards round the keeper and into the net. They got a 2nd goal in the 70th minute before a minute late we got our 4th through Erik Pipiska. It was 4-3 not long after when they pulled another back. Luckily for us we were on scoring form and
Dan Ozvolda hit one from the edge of the area into the bottom corner to make the final result 5-3. A great game.
28.10.2023 - Czech Second Division - Taborsko (H) - 1-0
It took a Richard Kovacs thunderbolt on the stroke of half time to settle this game. A battle of promotion challengers and what a battle it was. The ball was fought for in the middle of the park most of the game and we took our chance when it came. A massive 3 points for us and 3 that could be vital in the run in.
We drop a position down to 2nd due to goal difference which because of that loss means we are now 3 behind. We sit level on points with Sokolov who we beat earlier in the season so hopefully they will drop off eventually. Only 18 games left this season.

01.11.2023 - Czech FA Cup 4th Round - Frydek-Mistek (H) - 2-0
What could have turned out to be a tricky 4th round tie against a team that completely outplayed me last time actually turned out to be a comfortable win. We progress into the 5th round where I'm sure harder games will lie. Vaclav Jurecka got the opening goal of the game in first half injury time so that we went into the break 1-0 up. We started quickly in the 2nd half and Michal Prochazka got the 2nd on the 50th minute with a fine curling effort.
04.11.2023 - Czech Second Division - Pardubice (H) - 1-0
Another loss in the league and another bad performance. We didn't get going and they punished us. We were lucky that the game only ended 1-0 so we hhave to move on quickly to the next game. A 63rd minute strike gave them the win and the 3 points.
08.11.2023 - Czech Second Division - Karvina (A) - 2-0
Back to winning ways and a much better performance. The deadly duo did the damage with Erik Pipiska grabbing the first with a well timed header from a corner. Richard Kovacs got the 2nd with a powerful strike from just inside the area in the 71st minute. A great victory and 3 big points.
15.11.2023 - Czech Second Division - Loko Vlatvin (A) - 5-1
This is much more like it. Back to our high scoring ways and a number of players shone. Erik Pipiska got us started with a placed shot round the keeper into the corner.
Richard Kovacs got his first of the game with a simple tap in from a low cross form the wing. Vaclav Jurecka made it 3-0 just before the half time whistle and we were looking comfortable. Richard Kovacs then doubled his tally with another tap in and finally rounded off his hattrick with a wonderful strike from the edge of the box.
What a performance from the young striker. They got a consolation late on but that didn't bother me too much.
25.11.2023 - Czech Second Division - Brno (H) - 5-2
Another impressive 5 goal haul for the team against a decent outfit. We went behind really early in the 1st minute as they caught us off guard. Richard Kovacs got things started in the 13th minute with a placed shot into the corner. In the 19th minute Vladimir Aytov got his first of the game. We went 3-1 up when Aytov grabbed his 2nd of the game with a awesome curling shot from outside the area. It was 3-2 shortly after as they pulled one back but we kicked on after that, Kovacs grabbed his 2nd making it 5 in 2 for the lad. Aytov completed his hattrick in the 85th minute with a tap in from a few yards out. 2 hattricks in 2 games for my team.
So as we going into the winter break, we sit a comfortable 5 points clear of Sokolov in 2nd place and the league is looking pretty. We're into the Quarter Final of the cup which is way past what I thought we'd do in the competition. Any win in that is a bonus now.

We've returned from the winter break all fresh and having played a number of friendlies to keep everyone fit we're raring to go in the league again. A few of the fringe players left the club on permanent transfers and I brought in two players for rotation purposes. I'll be looking to bed them in fairly quickly.
09.03.2024 - Czech Second Division - Sokolov (A) - 0-0
A game against the team in 2nd place and who are my title rivals. To be honest nothing really happened apart from a horror tackle from John O'Sullivan which earned him a straight red card. Other than that, a few missed chances and a few poor tackles and not a lot else to offer. A boring 0-0 draw.
13.03.2024 - Czech Second Division - Ceske Budejovice (A) - 4-0
What a difference to the previous game. No boring 0-0 draw here, but a fantastic attacking performance. We started off well when Erik Pipiska got his first goal in the 14th minute with a simple tap in. Vaclav Jurecka got the 2nd of the game when he hit an effort from the edge of the area and it deflected in. Pipiska got his 2nd of the game to make it 3-0 before in the 80th minute Michal Prochazka made it 4-0. A great performance and a clean sheet to go with it.
23.03.2024 - Czech Second Division - Vlasim (H) - 3-0
A narrow 2-1 win to gain the 3 points and to keep the unbeaten run going. We took the lead when Erik Pipiska scored a thunderbolt of a strike in the 29th minute. It was 2-0 in the second half when new boy Nemanja Vejnovic got up at a corner to head the ball past the keeper who had no chance. Vlasim got one back in the 77th minute when we fouled them in the box to give them a penalty. We held on to take the 3 points.
We're flying at the top of the league going 4 points clear with a game in hand so hopefully it will increase to 7 points very soon. Not long to go in the league!

03.04.2024 - Czech Second Division - Viktoria Zizkov (H) - 1-0
Things didn't get off to a good start this month as we lost our first game since November (Winter break in there). Things got harder for us when Vinnie Vemeer got himself a straight red card after lunging into a tackle and not getting the ball on the 12th minute. They made the extra man count in the 57th minute and got the opening goal,
Things were levelled up when they received a straight red for a similar tackle. We couldn't get back on terms though and the game petered out. A loss and not looking good.
06.04.2024 - Czech Second Division - Most (H) - 2-0
This is much more like it. Back to scoring and back to winning ways. We left it fairly late in this one though and just about came out on top. We controlled the game but couldn't take one of our early chances but in the 76th minute we got a free-kick which Vaclav Jurecka expertly smashed into the top corner. We made sure of the 3 points in the 87th minute when Erik Pipiska tapped in a low cross to make it 2-0.
10.04.2024 - Czech FA Cup Quarter Final - Jihlava (H) - 3-2
We were the lowest ranked team left in the FA Cup at this stage so I didn't expect a win. We put on a good fight and a good show for the fans and we were unlucky not to come away with a draw or even a win. They went ahead in the 14th minute but we levelled things up in the 23rd minute through a well placed strike from Vaclav Jurecka
. We took the lead early in the 2nd half through Erik Pipiska but couldn't hold on long enough. In the 53rd minute they equalised and in the 56th an own goal from Lukas Landovsky put the ball into his own net to make it 3-2 to them. Heartbreak for the young lad. Time to focus on the league now after a good run in the FA Cup
13.04.2024 - Czech Second Division - Opava (A) - 2-1
We're making a habbit of this losing malarkey and I don't like it one bit. They went ahead early in the game only for us to be reduced to 10 me once again in the 2nd half when John O'Sullivan got himself 2 yellow cards. We levelled up the game though when Devante Cole was sent through 1 on 1 and slotted it home. We looked to have rescued a draw in the 87th minute but in the 90th minute they grabbed a late winner to my disbelief. Annoying but that's football.
20.04.2024 - Czech Second Division - Trinec (A) - 2-0
We turned things around and got the win at a crucial time. With only a few games to go we needed to start picking up points again and we did that brilliantly. Devante Cole got his first goal of the game in the 66th minute with a tap in after a pinball esque moment in the box. He doubled his tally in the 90th minute to make sure of the result. Much more like it from my boys.
24.04.2024 - Czech Second Division - Frydek-Mistek (H) - 2-1
Our new striker Dem Pljava who has come in to replace Richard Kovacs (who is sitting out because he wants to leave the club and I won't let him) got us off to a flyer when he opened the scoring in the 39th minute when he hit a shot that trickled over the line. Devante Cole carried on his good run of scoring form and got the eventual winner in the 55th minute before they got one back in the 71st minute. 2 wins on the trot and that's much more like it.
Due to our bad form in the league this month the lead has been cut from 7 to 1 which is slightly annoying. I still back my lads to do well but it's not going to be easy. Let's see how it goes in the final month...

04.05.2024 - Czech Second Division - Kladno (H) - 2-0
We've hit a good run of form and we look fantastic at the moment. We're playing some really good attacking football and I couldn't be happier. Vladimir Martinka got the first goal of the game with a big powerful header from a corner to make it 1-0. Vaclav Jurecka got the 2nd goal with a good curling effort which went into the top right corner. A good performance and 3 massive points.
11.05.2024 - Czech Second Division - Bohemians Praha (A) - 3-2
A narrow win against the side that sits bottom of the league. We went 2-0 up through goals from Vaclav Jurecka and Richard Kovacs in the first half. We switched off slightly in the and they came back into the game by scoring goals either side of the half time whistle. We eventually found the winner in the 87th minute when Richard Kovacs tapped in from close range to spark big celebrations.
15.05.2024 - Czech Second Division - Taborsko (A) - 2-0
With the news coming after the last game that we had already sealed promotion to the top division by coming in the top 2 in the league we wanted to kick on and secure the title. John O'Sullivan back from his suspension showed his class by walking through the defence and slotting the ball home in the 62nd minute. Devante Cole showed his importance to the team when he rounded the keeper and put the ball in the back of the net to make sure of the result.
WE WON THE LEAGUE!
With 3 games to go we have won the Czech Second Division without having to play another game. Pardubice played their game before us and lost it which meant that the gap was now to big for them to come back. A great season for the lads and although we were touted to win it by the board and that was my expectation we still needed to execute. Another trophy to add to my personal collection.

With the league already wrapped up we only had 3 games to complete the season. I've rotated the squad for these games to test out some other players for next season as I still plan to be in charge unless a huge team comes in for me. Anyway the rest of the league fixtures went like this:

Vaclav Jurecka took the Player of the Season award and achieved an average rating of 7.36. He set up 16 goals which is a new record in the division and also chipped in with 6 goals. Not too shabby for an attacking midfield player.
Vladimir Aytov came 2nd in this award and in any other team he would have won it. He had an awesome season.
We took a 1,2,3 in the Young Player of the Season award with Erik Pipiska taking the top award. He had an average rating of 7.26 and scored 9 goals in the league. A great performance from the youngster.
Richard Kovacs took second place and Jaromir Borovicka took 3rd.
The top goalscorer award had one name written on it all season. Richard Kovacs who scored a ridiculous 17 goals in the league and more overall. He could have got a lot more if he hadn't thrown a tantrum that meant I left him out of the team.

PRE SEASON 2024/25 UPDATE: SIGMA OLOMOUC
TRANSFERS
IN:
We needed to bring in some players to add some strength for the upcoming season in the First Division so I set about finding these players.
First of all I brought in Florin Ciochina from my old team FCSB on a free transfer. He was my number on during my time at FCSB and I'm glad he wanted to join back up with me and will go straight into the starting line up.
Kristijan Karadzole-Glasovic is a 17 year old superstar who plays as a deep lying playmaker. He also goes straight into the starting line up as he has the quality already to make a difference in there. We got him relatively cheap for around £275k.
Ales Novak is another youngster at the age of 20 and slots in straight at right back. He's an attacking right back who loves to get forward so hopefully he can do this regularly.
Matija Boben is the last player that i brought in myself, the rest were done by the DOF. Boben is another of my former players from my Gorica days and comes in to provide rotation at CB. He's got the experience and hopefully he can tutor some of my youngsters so the future remains bright.
OUT:
I sent a number of youngster and fringe players out on loan to gain match experience and hopefully to improve so they can come back to challenge for the first team. The most notable is Andrei Domsa who has 4* potential. I'll be keeping an eye on him whilst he's out on loan.
FRIENDLIES
We played 4 friendlies in total so that the lads could get some game time in their legs. It's all about gaining fitness and for the new players to learn our style of play. We did exceptionally winning all 4 games. We scored a total of 9 goals and only conceded 2 in the process. A good start to the season and hopefully we can continue this into the season.

03.08.2024 - Czech First Division - Viktoria Plzen (A) - 2-0
We couldn't get a harder game ot start the new season with. Previous champions Viktoria Plzen were the hosts and I didn't expect anything from th game and that's what I got. 0 points but a fairly decent performance. I'll take the positives from that. They took the lead in the 15th minute and went 2-0 up in the 27th. It didn't help when my left back Lukas Landovksy got himself a red card and we were forced to play the rest of the game with 10 men. A good performance but a bad result.
10.08.2024 -Czech First Division - Pribram (H) - 2-1
Our first home game in the First Division and it was another defeat. Things are going to be harder in this league. They took the lead in the 11th minute but we didn't quit. We fought back and got our goal in the 51st minute through Devante Cole when he raced through 1 on 1. He finished the job off and put the ball in the back of the net. Unfortunately 4 minutes later a poor back pass got intercepted and they scored to make it 2-1. We couldn't force our way back into the game this time and we lost 2-1.
14.08.2024 - Czech FA Cup 2nd Round - Vitkovice (A) - 2-0
We got our first win of the season albeit it not in the league. A good performance from the lads and hopefully we can take this momentum into the league. John O'Sullivan scored the opener in the 30th minute with a stunning strike from the edge of the area. Richard Kovacs double our lead in the 37th and things were looking good. We controlled the rest of the game and saw the result out. A good win and into the next round of the cup.
17.08.2024 - Czech First Division - Slovan Liberec (A) - 3-0
Finally we got our first league win! What a time to be alive. A fantastic performance and a fantastic result to go with it. Things started to go our way when Devante Cole
was put through and finished with aplomb on the 19th minute. Richard Kovacs then doubled our lead on the 26th minute when he volleyed home from a poor clearance.
It stayed 2-0 up until the half time whistle. Midway throught he 2nd half John O'Sullivan tapped in from a few yards out from a great cross from the right hand side. We finished the game at 3-0 and I'm delighted to get 3 points on the board.
24.08.2024 - Czech First Division - Znojmo (H) - 2-0
Another win and another set of 3 points. We finally gave our home fans something to cheer about. What a performance and 2 great goals from Vladimir Aytov and Nemanja Vejnovic who both scored from a few yards out from corners. Set pieces for us are proving to be a good source of goals. We managed to make it 2 clean sheets in a row as well which is very impressive. New keeper Floren Ciochina is already paying dividends.
31.08.2024 - Czech First Division - Teplice (A) - 1-0
We were sent crashing back to earth with a bump. After the previous 2 games, we nearly made it 3 wins in a row but a sending off ruined our chances. Lucas Landovsky got himself a straight red card when he lunged into a tackle and missed the ball. Stupid as that's 2 sendings off already this season. They nicked a winner in the 80th minute when they intercepted a ball and ran through on goal and finished nicely to the right hand side of the keeper. A poor result really.
So after 6 games in charge, 5 in league we sit in 11th place with 6 points. An alright start for the boys in a higher division than last season. I'm happy that we've got 3 wins that could have so easily been 3 wins but 6 points is better than none. I'll be looking at consolodating ourselves in the league this season and mounting a challenge next time round. Who knows? We may win the cup this season as a bonus.

13.09.2024 - Czech First Division - Slavia Praha (H) - 1-0
We travelled to the Czech capital to Prague to face Slavia Praha who were doing well in the league to date. A close game on all accounts with an equal amount of possession and an equal amount of shots, but the thing that mattered wasn't equal: the score. They took the lead early in the game in the 7th minute with a fine curling effort from the edge of the area. We couldn't managed to find a goal after many chances and the game ended 1-0. Not the greatest start to the month.
21.09.2024 - Czech First Division - Slovacko (A) - 5-2
Our 2nd away game in a round, but this time round we had a positive result. We got our goalscoring flair back and I'm delighted with how the lads played. Vinnie Vemeer got us off to a flyer in the 2nd minute with a well placed shot. Richard Kovacs got the 2nd goal and his 1st in the 9th minute with a tap in. Sloavako managed to pull one back to make it 2-1 before 6 minutes later Devante Cole (son of Andy I've just found out) restored the 2 goal lead. It was soon to be 3-2 when they scored a powerful header from a corner. In the 2nd half, Richard Kovacs doubled his tally and made it 4-2 with a classy run into the area and clipped one into the corner. He completed his hattrick a few minutes later to round off a 5-2 victory.
25.09.2024 - Czech FA Cup 3rd Round - Most (A) - 4-0
Another fantastic goalscoring performance against a lower league side this time round. We controlled the game and could've scored more. Vladimir Aytov got the opener with a simple finish from 8 yards out. Devante Cole then scored 3 minutes later to curl one round the keeper and into the net. Richard Kovacs made it 3-0 before the half time whistle with another tap in. John O'Sullivan scored the 4th in second half injury time and that was that. Through to the 4th round of the cup.
28.09.2024 - Czech First Division - Pardubice (H) - 1-0
We hosted fellow newcomers to the league Pardubice to our home, and sent them away empty handed. A big performance against the league strugglers. Richard Kovcas continued his fine goalscoring form of late when he rounded the keeper in the 54th minute. 1-0 was enough to gain the 3 points and round of an impressive month.
After the good performances this month we have risen slightly and now sit in 9th position on 12 points with 4 wins. I'm proud of how we're playing this season and who knows how high we can go.

05.10.2024 - Czech First Division - Bohemians 1905 (H) - 1-1
A match up against Bohemians 1905 to start the month off and a fairly good performance saw us gain a draw. We controlled the game but let them score after an error in defence saw them intercept the ball and race through clean on goal. We took the lead in the 54th minute when Nemanja Vejnovic scrambled the ball over the line after a free for all in the penalty area. Just 5 minute the lapse in defence occurred and it was 1-1. A point is better than 0 as I always say.
19.10.2024 - Czech First Division - Mlada Boleslav (A) - 3-0
An astounding result from the lads on their travels. We visited top of the league Mlada Boleslav and came away with all 3 points. They were never in the game and we dominated it from start to finish. Maybe we can hack it in this league. Devante Cole got us off to a good start with a simple tap in from a few yards out. He then doubled his tally late in the 2nd half to make it 2-0. A sublime finish from Dan Ozvolda in the 84th minute made sure of the 3 points and made it 3-0. What a day.
26.10.2024 - Czech First Division - Jablonec (A) - 3-0
Another 3 points and another 3-0 win. We carried on our good form and carried on our goalscoring form as well. Devante Cole also carried on his form and kicked the scoring off with a well timed finish from 12 yards. He doubled his tally with a tidy finish from just inside the box to make it 2-0. Not long after Richard Kovacs made it 3-0 and that was that. A good performance and 3 big points.
30.10.2024 - Czech FA Cup 4th Round - Zlin (H) - 2-1
The FA Cup dream is over after we went crashing out to Zlin at home. An early penalty conceded by Nemanja Vejnovic gave them the early lead before we equalised half way through the 2nd half when Richard Kovacs nip in behind the defence and put the ball in the net. Late in the second half they produced the move of the match to score what was to be the winner. A shame to go out, but I'd much rather concentrate on performing well in the league.
Another unbeaten month in the league and what a month it was. A huge win against the team on top of them all and we got 7 out of 9 points on offer. We rose in the rankings once again and now sit in 5th, just 4 points off top spot. Could this be a miraculous year for us?

02.11.2024 - Czech First Division - Jihlava (A) - 1-0
The second time in 2 months that we've played the team that's been setting the pace at the top of the league. Last time we got the 3 points, this time we did not. We played really well again and I'm proud of our performance. We couldn't take one of the chances we created with 2 being cleared off the line and 1 hitting the post. Talk about our luck not being in. We gave away a penalty in the 39th minute and they converted it to take the win.
09.11.2024 - Czech First Division - Zlin (A) - 2-1
Last time out against Zlin we took a narrow defeat. This time we got a narrow win. Another good performance from the lads with John O'Sullivan being the man of the match. He converted a penalty in the 38th minute to get draw level after they had taken an early lead in the game. A lucky deflected free-kick from O'Sullivan meant that we ran out 2-1 winners.
23.11.2024 - Czech First Division - Sparta Prague (H) - 4-2
When you think of Czech football, you immediately think of Sparta Prague. The giants of Czech football were turned over by my lads though and I didn't expect it. We went 4-0 up at one point which is incredible. Devante Cole got the 1st with a simple tap in. Nino Kovac got his first for the club with a simple side foot finish for the edge of the area. Nemanja Vejnovic headed in from a corner to make it 3-0 before half time. Richard Kovacs made it 4-0 just after the break. Prague pulled 2 goals back though in the 55th and 88th minutes to make it seem a bit closer but truth be told, we dominated.
30.11.2024 - Czech First Division - Dukla Prague (H) - 2-1
We were brought back to earth with a bump after our tremendous win against Sparta Prague. Their cross city rivals did the dirty on us and scored both of the 2 chances they created. Talk about clinical. We created so many chances but could only take 1. John O'Sullivan who has had a fine month scored our only goal.
So after those 4 games, 2 wins and 2 losses we sit in 5th place in the league. A very admirable 5th by the way and I'm overjoyed with how we are showing ourselves in our first season in the big league. 10 points behind the leaders now, and it doesn't look like we can pull them back so we shall see how high we can finish.

TRANSFERS
IN:
We brought in Jiri Adamec from fellow First Division side Mlada Boleslav for a fee of £300k. He's here to replace an outgoing star and has the potential to be a 4*
player. Hopefully he can grab a fair amount of goals.
Dawid Polkowski is again replacing an outgoing player who is getting on a bit. He's a younger version so hopefully will be key in challenging for the title next year. He's an attacking midfield player who scores and creates. We got him for £40.5k from Jagiellonia.
Samuel Rusnak comes in on loan to help bolster the center half options. He's only here till the end of the season but we may make a bid if he performs well.
OUT:
As mentioned above, we've replaced a few of the outgoing players. The main transfer out was Richard Kovacs who joined PAOK for £2.4m. I didn't really want to sell him but the board intervened. In hindsight it's a lot of money for a 20 year old in the Czech league. People can be replaced and we did that with Jiri Adamec
Michal Prochazka also departed us for bigger and better things. He joined Jihlava who sit at the top of the league for £800k. A lot of money coming into the club to reinvest in facilities and players.
FRIENDLIES
We played a number of friendlies, just like every winter break to keep the players fit and on the ball. It's also a good time to get the new players who come in up to scratch with the tactics and how we play. We did very well in these friendlies winning 4 out of the 5 we played. We scored a total of 14 goals and conceded 5. We didn't have a clean sheet which is disappointing but they are only friendlies.
