Bela Guttman was a former Hungarian player and coach who managed SL Benfica between 1959 and 1962.​ During that time he won 2 Champions League for the Eagles in 1961 and 1962.​ After the second hit, he left after a dispute with management and said the famous line: "Not in 100 years will Benfica ever be European champions".​ This sentence, 59 years later still haunts the fans, as since then Benfica have never again celebrated a European achievement, even losing 8 finals since then.​
