I agree but at the same time we could feasibly win neither and still be top of the league. I hope we can step it up, and am confident that we can, but at the same time if we keep on beating the 'smaller' sides then beating the big ones might not be as important.
We can win the title and are title contenders, but I'd still have City as favourites. I'd probably have us and Chelsea around the same odds right now.

Performances like tonight are the norm.
I don't want Moyes to go either, but that is only because of loyalty and a willingness to support him because he's our manager.
By any objective scale he's been an absolute disaster so far. I think there have been two positives so far in his entire reign (qualifying from the Champions League, beating Arsenal) and everything else has been somewhere in the region of disappointing to outright shambolic.
Gives off the impression, despite working with these players week in week out for months, that he has absolutely no idea who they are, what they are about and what they can do for him.

See i hate it when people say that, yes those games are big but you get far more points from beating the other 15 or so lesser teams in the league. The same was said before the game against you lot and look whats happened to both teams since, we actually got better! The important difference for us so far this season is that we're winning when we play bad, we really haven't been that great in a fair few of our matches but have still got the goals and more importantly not given anything stupid away. I do believe we can win the league, but don't honestly feel that those two mentioned games will be the turning point in our season win or lose.

It doesn't even matter anymore. They're irrelevant.

Oh definitely, but I think it will seriously highlight your title credentials if you don't lose either game, and confidence will go sky high.

True. If we beat Chelsea then we can go to the Etihad with no pressure on our backs.

Krul needs to fucking sort himself out as well, he seems to be totally unable to cut the mistakes out of his game.
bluemoon.
The smaller teams aren't even the issue for us, it's the away form and lack of concentration.
Sadly, despite our win, both of those problems were evident at West Brom tonight. Hopefully Kompany can stay fit for a while this time.

Yes, he is. He's a dirty bastard too.

Nah, he was shite for both teams imo, so evened itself out.

We definitely didn't deserve to win, we were so bad it was laughable. If you don't laugh you cry.
Fellaini hasn't shown any sign of improvement since joining, he's stayed incredibly average.
As for Moyes, again he still has my support, it'd be pathetic not to stand by him. However, last night everything went completely wrong. And there are no excuses.
Flash.
This.
Valencia's been awful for 2 seasons yet but somehow he's always in or around the first team. They need to put Nani in and give him a run of 6/7 games. Generally whenever Nani has been given a consistent starting place he's performed, his problem is that when he's in and out of the squad he's rubbish.

Eh? We weren't even that bad. Rooney's deflected shot could have gone in but hit the post, Welbeck hit the bar. On another day we could have been 2/3-0 up before Everton scored.
Fellaini played well too. Probably his best game, which isn't saying much mind.

The way we're playing is worrying. It needs sorting, we've had moments when it looked like it was sorted i.e. not sitting back on a 1-0 lead at Leverkusen like we did at Cardiff, and beating Arsenal, but we've been too average.
Now I'm still supporting Moyes, but he needs to improve things. We can't really say 'he needs time like Fergie did' because Moyes inherited a league winning side, and plenty of other new managers haven't needed 'time'.
Of course it didn't help that Moyes was pretty much unsupported in the transfer market, then again he turned down Ozil and spent £27M on Fellaini so he has to take some of the blame.

We weren't great, but played better than you're suggesting. We were the better team in the first half, and there was a period in the second in which Everton couldn't get out of their own half. They defended deep at times which we struggle with, and they did it well.
If we'd have scored from the right-hand side, Moyes would be praised for moving a more attacking player to right-back - it at least showed he was going to win the game, which he's been criticised for not doing before. Although I found it odd 'cos Rafael is a pretty attacking full-back himself. Maybe wasn't fully fit or something.
We were poor in the final third 'cos Valencia was shit and Welbeck isn't fit, and Kagawa obviously playing on the left. Don't know why Januzaj didn't start.
Need Carrick back asap, and to play with Jones in the middle until we buy someone else.

Yeah, he didn't affect the result he's just an appalling referee who just doesn't have a clue.
It was just sheer luck that in a string of utterly bizarre decisions last night he didn't make one that ruined the game.

What a fucking idiot.
