The Arse 4141 Meta Tactic, seen on Zealand's (
and TomFM's channels
The idea behind the tactic was to get as many players swarming into the opposition box when you gain possession as possible.
There is a single DM, but you keep the field so compressed that everyone is just really close together.
In possession the DM forms 3-man midfield with the two IWBs. The five defenders pass the ball around and then release one of the attackers. As that attacker sprints forward, the other 4 attackers swarm the box, which is often too much for the opposition to deal with.
Out of possession the tactic is very high intensity, and a lot of goals come from one of the attackers tackling back, and the team quickly moving up the field.
I set the roles for the attackers so that I could make use of different players. It is entirely possible to SSs instead of an AM and an SS could work for you.
Tested with Arsenal, Schalke 04, St. Pauli, Weldstone, AS Roma. HIghlights include multiple unbeaten seasons with Arsenal smashing the goals scored per season record multiple times, and winning the Bundesliga with St. Pauli 3 years after promotion, back-to-back-to-back promotions with Wealdstone (although) with a tweaked version.
Important note: If you are a team whose players don't really fit the system (like Roma in the screenshots), or you're an underdog in a game, I would set the team to balanced instead of Attacking.
And of course, I adjust instructions to the players. So I untick “Dribble More” if my defenders absolutely can't dribble.
I've noticed that a big strong striker who “Likes to Play with Back to Goal” or “Likes to Come Deep” really enhances the whole team, but can lower the striker positions individual output a lot.
