First preview of the newgen faces in the new Unity engine for FM25
Bielsa is a Legend
looks highly uninspiring
if a “Highlight” is the new name of 25, not 2025 then that says a lot
the newgen of young Amario looks nothing like him, apart from the obvious

New “Channel Forward” Role
Footygamer
Well obviously, they're not going to magically generate an accurate face of a real player they don't have a face for.
I assume the fact that he has a face at all is a bug of some sort.

Bielsa is a Legend
They could make a better job than that, SI don’t seem to have taken onboard any of the communities work on Newgens faces
Footygamer
I'm not really sure what you expect.
What exactly do you expect them to take onboard from the communities efforts?
Azrael
I will certainly not pre-order the game. I don't buy things with my eyes half open, especially at this stage of my life. I will wait to see the "final" product, although, in reality, things are always corrected on the fly and later too... It's still too early to make a decision, though.
kingrobbo
looks woeful lol
kingrobbo
lets see what the changes are
and what can still be be edited data/graphics
interesting they still are saying it will be save game compatible..so your save from 24 can be used in 25
what happens if you are have an international save?
Azrael
That's a good point indeed…

There are issues with anything outside of ‘personal use’ with AI. SI will likely need an expensive licence. It's staggeringly obvious, or should be, that SI can't just rinse an AI for 500000 faces, nor can it use an AI freely within game to generate on the fly without either a licence or their own model.
Bielsa is a Legend
i havent suggested the use of AI
i simply expect that they could provide a more realistic generic image of a young bloke with african heritage
just looks like a cartoon
CplCurmudgeon
You referred to
Which has almost entirely been done using AI. So, were SI to ‘take onboard’ any of the ‘communities work’ it would involve use of an AI image generator.
Perhaps you didn't realise the community was using AI image gen?
The SI model does look cartoony, I agree. Sadly for the reasons I previously stated, they are unlikely to provide realism akin to the communities work without an AI, and that will involve licensing in one way or another.
CplCurmudgeon
Looks like something out of Word 98. Almost as if SI paid no attention to current logo design trends.
Dynamic Minimalism, Glassmorphism, Symbolic Logos & Metaphoric Storytelling, Playing with Typography, Geometric Shapes, Gradient and Bioluminescent Color Spaces all ignored in favour of something that looks like it was created alongside Clippy.

Statement from Miles Jacobson in regards the purpose and future of the roadmap
Not worded that well, but it seems to suggest new features post release rather than just patches post release. Which has already been alluded to elsewhere.
I'm hoping the TBC on the marketing push isn't because they actually don't know when they'll do that and more to just get used to only knowing the next date and not knowing any other dates until that first date has past.
CplCurmudgeon
So this leaves me wondering whether a Ryzen AI 9 365 with 880M iGPU is going to be sufficient. I've been lining up laptop replacements and putting it off to see what FM25 specs are like (ignoring the fact the game might be a minimum viable product like CM03/04)
I don't want to have to sit at the desk to play FM, but I recall FM23/24 looking a tad rough on a 780M or Intel Iris Xe and lagging like hell at 60FPS in games.

Is there anything to suggest this has been addressed as it has been broken for a couple of years
coffee cup
Hope they sort goal line technology not seen one given in FM 24 even though there as been loads I’ve seen.
CplCurmudgeon
Nothing to suggest it has. The game has some questionable finances. I've seen huge clubs relegated and lose absolutely no sponsorship despite languishing in the 2nd tier for years - that's broken as all hell.
kingrobbo
yes there are a few major issues with the game
its why you need an in game editor you can remove sponsorship/impose sanctions like point deductions and transfer bans that the game should be doing but isnt

Is this the truth about adding the Arabic language?
If it is real and not a mistake, it is amazing🔥
CplCurmudgeon
Yeah, but I've a feeling people are saying the sanctions don't occur even when added with Editor?
I confess to adding a salary cap or max wage to all the major leagues in the past, which doesn't work either, you just end up with loads of free transfers because AI clubs can't manage squads or finance effectively.

Either way, they've got too much on their plate to improve that now. I don't understand the point of complaining about one of so many shoddy features when the community does a better job anyway. It's a non issue.
