looks highly uninspiring

if a “Highlight” is the new name of 25, not 2025 then that says a lot

the newgen of young Amario looks nothing like him, apart from the obvious

Well obviously, they're not going to magically generate an accurate face of a real player they don't have a face for.

I assume the fact that he has a face at all is a bug of some sort.

They could make a better job than that, SI don’t seem to have taken onboard any of the communities work on Newgens faces

I'm not really sure what you expect.

  • Building there own AI to generate faces would be a huge undertaking for a company with no expertise in that area.
  • Using a public offering that the community uses will come with a variety of licensing issues.
  • I can't fathom how they would get an AI generated photo to look the same as a player on the pitch, that would be absurdly complex and not something i've seen available anywhere. No doubt they want the skin tone, hair style and other features to match.

What exactly do you expect them to take onboard from the communities efforts?
