I bought the 5 pound update earlier today and have spent the last two hours trying to add the files in game and still to no avail.

I previously downloaded another update from another site and they are the only files that appear when I start a new game.

I have deleted said files from my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled the game again,  deleted all editor files, deleted the editor folder and started the game again to create a new editor folder, added the Sortitout SI enhanced data yet still the other sites files are appearing. It's driving me crazy and I have no idea how to fix it. Can someone please help? I've attached screenshots.

I'm not a user of MacOS day-to-day, but know my way around enough to hopefully help/support.

From what you've described, it sounds to me that you've not correctly located the folder to drop the SortitoutSI data update files into. The main reason I think this is the case is that you state you've deleted the other update's files, yet it still appears. My instincts tell me you had them in (at least) two locations and deleted them from one, but the one being read by the game.

Are you able to confirm the full path of the ‘editor data’ folder in your last screenshot?

Alongside that, in terms of the approach I'd take - try and locate the ‘old’ update files, first. They will be somewhere. They should be in the following location, given they are being recognised by the game:

/Users/YOURNAME/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024/editor data/

If you can find that location, you should see a list of files matching those that you can enable on starting a new game. If you can find that location and there are no files in there, or you cannot find that location because it does not exist, then I'd be interested to know which games platform you own FM 24 through? Because I wonder if one of Epic Games, or similar, install to a different default location.

If for any reason you cannot locate that ‘editor data’ folder path, then I'd advise using whatever the built-in files search function is on MacOS to look for one of the files you have installed that is showing up (for example the ‘FM 24 Wonderkids’ file). That may lead you to the location they are on your system and, at the same time, lead you to the location where you need to copy the SortitoutSI data update files in one fell swoop.

Sorry for the non-specific advice - hopefullly something of the above can help.

Thanks for your response. I found the folder by typing sports interactive into the search bar, then clicking on football manager 2024, then editor data, and then I copied the .fmf files into the folder. The files are 100% not on my computer anymore. I've deleted the all folders from the other site and typed in all the .fmf files that appeared on the screenshot above in the search bar and there's no longer any record of them on my mac.

I'm using steam. I clicked on the downloads option after clicking more on the FM 24 main screen and the files from the other site appear in the steam section but it doesn't show any possibility of deleting them. So I guess they must be somehow saved on a steamcloud but there's no option for me to delete the files anywhere on the screenshot I attached. Even if I right click on the files nothing happens. I'm completely stumped to be honest! I'll attach a screenshot. The Notoriouspro files are the ones I want to get rid of.

Ah, OK - so those other data update files are actually ones you've effectively ‘subscribed to' via Steam then, I suspect. I hadn't even considered that possibility, TBH, as I never really use community content for Football Manager from Steam.

One way you can try and remove the other mod content is to look for those items in your ‘Subscribed Items’ in Steam. From the main Steam application (and this is, admittedly, in Windows), you can go via SteamUsername -→ Content -→ Workshop Items -→ Subscribed Items. This'll show you a list of every workshop item you're subscribed to. I bet they will be on that list and you can unsubscribe from them, there.

That, in itself, won't solve the problem of installing the SortitoutSI update, but it'll be a start for getting you a clean install that doesn't have other modded content kicking around.

I tried that too and the files still don't appear. I honestly have no idea of what else it could be.

Just to double-check - in your screenshot, it's showing you the view of ‘Your Items’ (in this context, that's things you've created and shared in the Steam Workshop). A little further down, on the right, you'll see ‘Subscribed Items’. Click that and see what shows up.

If you see them listed, there, from that list you can unsubscribe to each one (and there may be an ‘unsubscribe all’ button somewhere, too).

Sorry, I think I’ve reached my limit of knowing what else to suggest…not familiar with FM 24 installation on MacOS enough to know where to suggest to look next. Hopefully someone with more direct knowledge can come along and help soon!

No worries at all. Thanks for your help anyway! Will post again if I somehow manage to fix it.

Just in case it helps, the (default) location for Workshop items on MacOS is:

/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/

Within the ‘content’ folder, you'll have a list of folders with names that are strings of numbers - each of those is a game. It'd be interesting to browse to that location and see if there is anything there.

Thanks again for your help and sorry for the late reply! For some reason I can't access that folder via application support as steam doesn't even appear in it! Totally at a loss as to what to do.
