You may have noticed that the careers section has changed a little bit, you now have the opportunity to create a Career Profile that looks a little something like this. All you need to do is go to the Career Manager and "Add a season". You can add each of the seasons in your career to get a complete overview of your career as well as uploading your career statistics directly from the game.

The stories side of the careers section will stay mostly the same except that each one has been converted to act like a normal topic, getting rid of all the article/status/image options when updating your career.

There are some more features in the works, soon you'll be able to compare your career stats against another persons, or against the entire site in a complete table, showing who's got the best and worst win percentages, money spent, days in charge etc.

I'm also working on a facebook/twitter style "what's happening in your game" section designed around people chatting about the game as they play and sharing screenshots etc without the detail of a longer story.

Just asking Rob, is it possible to upload pictures straight from the web?
I don't save my screenshots so it's slightly inconvenient to have to download the image then upload it.

Er yeah I guess, do you mean when it saves to Steam or something?

If you press Alt+F9 (I think) it goes into "My Docs/Football Manager 2013/screenshots" which I found easiest.

In the future I want to add a copy and paste so it would be Print Screen > Ctrl + V to upload but I haven't been able to get it working across all browsers yet.

Er no actually, I'm now using MyImgur, which uploads screenshots straight to Imgur.

No biggie though Rob, just asking

How do you get back onto a career you started on this website?

Made a few new changes:

1) A "My Careers" link now appears on the left next to your user details
2) A new career index page showing latest stories and latest seasons
3) If you go via the forums you will just wind up at the stories page not the seasons listing

Got a few more things in the pipeline, but I wanted a few people to add there stuff so I could check how people used it and make some amendments

1) [coming soon] When you upload your career stats you'll be able to click on say "Avg Goals per game" and see a graph of how that has changed over the seasons

2) [coming soon] On the careers page linked to at the top they'll be a table showing who is top for each stat, e.g. who's got the best goals per game record etc (we need some more people to upload there career stats for this)

3) [coming soon] Team and League pages so you can track activity of people managing Watford or managing in the Dutch Eredivisie for example

4) [coming soon] The ability to edit your seasons incase you make a mistake or want to add something

I realise it may not work great at the moment as people are already a long way into their careers, but I figure releasing it now and ironing out issues/getting people used to it will mean it's going to be an awesome feature for FM14

I've added the ability for you guys to edit your seasons, just to to "My Careers" on the left hand side of the page and each season will be listed on the bottom.

It would be really good to see some of you add your career stats so that I can get some sort of league table up and running (and then hopefully get more people interested in adding theres).

If the instructions aren't clear or are a bit confusing please do let me know

Delighted with this bit in particular. Looks much better.

Afternoon career readers, writers and those of you just trying to blag some time away from work! We know who you are!

As many of you may be aware myself and Shedender have been appointed staff members and our main role/priority is to get the career section back to its lively self, over the last few days I must say activity appears to be on the rise which is fantastic! But there are still a few things we aim to do over the next couple of weeks.

What to expect over the next few days/weeks:

- The return of the Hall of Fame.
- Career of the Week
- More time spent promoting careers on Social Media sites

Hall of fame:

Just as before on the old site any career that we feel may be worthwhile noting as a massive 'success' or 'motivational read through' will be added to the hall of fame here it can still be regularly updated. It will give you a little bit more pride in your story and hopefully help inspire others to make it to this group!

Career of the Week:

Every Saturday/Sunday me and Shedender will put our heads together and decide on what we feel has been the best updated career of the week and this will be 'pinned' to the top of the career section for everyone to view. We will get in contact with the writer on the sunday evening to ensure they are planning to regularly update throughout the next week. (we don't want to pick a story which then dies that week). I shall also edit the title of their career and write [C.O.T.W] to make it clear to everyone.

Social Media Sites:

Obviously we have our twitter and facebook pages yet very little is done on these to promote the fantastic careers we have on the site. So we plan to start promoting a couple daily on both our sites to try and encourage new users to the site and hopefully inspire a few more stories.

This is just a couple of early things that are going to happen so keep an eye out. If anyone has any further thoughts or ideas please feel free to contact myself or Shedender or even any member of staff to press your ideas through.

This needs to be done as soon as possible and needs to continue when Football Manager 2015 is released too, we can't let this die off or we'd be considered terrible staff members.

Not sure where to post this,

but when updating my career information, there's only two teams available to select from Republic of Ireland.

I'll have to look into it, the teams are a direct export from the game so they haven't all been individually checked.

I use Gyazo so basically I just decide what part of the screen to get and it automatically uploads it to the internet.

Hi Mark,

Using imgur is a good site to upload your image, open them up in paint and crop them down first. You can then copy image url there and this can then be pasted here by using the image on the comment box that looks like a tree

You'll probably have to wait for the full games release. Also this has nothing to do with the new careers section

Sorry I don't fully understand what you're referring to.

You can create a new career by going to Careers > My Careers there's then a button in the top right.

As for the story or the career updates, you just get a normal topic like anywhere else on the forum and can do whatever you like with it.
