Data Update Poll!
Hello, there is currently an important debate going on regarding how to manage the FM24 Data Update going forward, particularly in the case of modifying the ages and contract dates by 1 year. Please can you vote in the poll and join in the discussion.

As many of you may remember last year we tried to launch a brand new version of sortitoutsi. This site was coded from scratch by me and although I thought it was pretty awesome, it was released in a bit of a rush and had a number of teething problems. At the time I couldn't dedicate the hours to fixing it all, so after a crazy 3 days we reverted back to the old version of the site and I took a much needed break to dedicate my time to more important things.
BUT NOW WE'RE BACK!
Yes, i'm going to try again this year, but hopefully it will go alot smoother. The main crux of the new site has been in action for a while over on the mainsite and we've been BETA testing various aspects, including the forums, behind the scenes for a little while now. However, now comes the scary part. I need to begin migrating over various sections of the site you're currently using to the new system. This will mean a number of changes for you the guys that i've tried to outline as simply as possible below:
2) This will happen slowly. Very soon the off topic sections will move over to the new system. Once the dust has settled and i'm sure there's no bugs the FM sections will move over as well (except careers). Finally the graphics will move over, once some more work has been done customising these areas. My personal deadline is October 1st, but we shall see.
3) "But what about my skins, my careers, my tactics!", well....
I will post more information on how you can move your files over to the new system soon.
The problem with this is that it's not going to be easy to move the old careers over to the new site. For that reason, the old careers will all be archived. You will be able to access and read them, but not create new ones on the old system. This will happen later than the rest of the site, as the new careers section won't be released until the FM2013 demo is released. From then on, both will continue running at the same time (this is the confusing part). FM2012 careers will stay on the old system and FM2013 careers (or any career created after the FM2013 demo is released) will be on the new system.
The biggest problem with this is that new users may ignore the old FM2012 section, even if there are great stories still going on (I know not everyone buys FM13 straight away). There's not much I can do about that i'm afraid. We're trying our best to make this has simple and hassle free as possible, while also respecting the hard work alot of you have put into your careers for the past year(s). But this is going to be a major change to the site and there's no way to do it without some teething periods

General
1) All of the old topics and forums will be closed. You will still be able to access and read them, but the forum will be starting fresh with an empty message board. However your user accounts will stay intact.2) This will happen slowly. Very soon the off topic sections will move over to the new system. Graphics Tactics and Utilities
If you've had popular topics about a graphic, tactic or mod you've created you'll probably want to move it over. We've now got dedicated sections of the site, with custom pages for each. These will act very similarly to the topics you're used to, but the first post will be specially designed to cater for the type of content it is. Showing things like download links, screenshots, installation instructions etcI will post more information on how you can move your files over to the new system soon.
Careers
The careers section is unfortunately going to be the most confusing and annoying part of the move. The new site will feature a whole new careers section, where you can write and follow careers more easily than on the previous site. It won't change too much, you can still keep your career within a simple topic, but you can also have custom careers that act like blogs, as well as import your game data from Steam, Twitter and You Tube. The problem with this is that it's not going to be easy to move the old careers over to the new site. For that reason, the old careers will all be archived. You will be able to access and read them, but not create new ones on the old system. What browser and OS are you using? I'll admit to being no graphic expert, but I find the sizing and padding on this version easier

Chrome on Mac, the padding on the main article seems to be a bit low. Also the font size appears to be a bit too tall (obviously a personal preference) but I suppose I'm just used to the old font. It seems to work ok in the comments
