Rodriguez is out until December anyway so him moving isn't as big a problem for a while, but yes, a new manager and playing squad will be very unsettling for the first few months.

Wonder who Spurs will get in to replace Poche

I think Pochettino will do well at Spurs (worryingly), he actually has both an ability to win over the players and be tactically sound, which neither of AVB or Sherwood really had.

Has to be good news for Erik Lamela, surely?

I'm not a fan of Pochettino so this move hasn't exactly made me happy. He is just another 'yes man' that will get sacked sometime over the next 18-24 months. I will give him my full 100% support though, as he is now the manager of the team I support.

I'm getting tired of Levy constantly demanding a top 4 finish, when in reality we've got the 6th/7th best squad in the league. Yes, another run in the CL would be nice, but I want to see us actually win something and we aren't going to win the CL, probably not even in my lifetime and im in my 20's. Im not saying I never want to get top 4, because I do. But right now we simply can't compete with the very top teams over the course of a full season, so we should be aiming for something like an FA Cup win or even a Europa League final.

What you mean is you want Tottenham to finish 6th/7th but take FA Cup and the League Cup more seriously and any higher placed finish in the league is a welcome bonus.

I agree though.

Pretty much. I'm not saying we should be happy with finishing 5th-7th every year, because every team should be looking to improve. But at the moment its difficult to see how we'd get top 4 consistently, especially next season. City & Chelsea will be up there, you'd imagine Liverpool will be competing again, Arsenal are always around 4th and Man Utd will most likely challenge for 4th with Van Gaal in charge. To me, it seemed obvious that we should try and get someone like Rafa Benitez who is a proven winner and could potentially get us a cup win of some kind. Don't forget that the Europa League now gives a CL place to the winner, so winning that could give us glory and a chance to improve and attract better players.

For me this is the last chance for Levy to get it right. He must give Pochettino time and back him 100%. If he sacks him for failing to get 4th next season, then I think its time for Levy to go.

United apparently struck a deal to sign Miranda off Atletico for €30m. Bit pricey for a 30 year old but they do desperately need an experienced head at the back

Gutted if that's true. The best defender in Spain over the last couple of years.

£24m isn't far from the going rate for top players these days, nowt really wrong with the price imo.

£24m's a bargain to be honest. Doubt the wages would be massive either, Atleti won't have been paying him a massive amount.

Can £24m spent on a 30-year-old centre-back ever be described as a bargain, though?

If United have the money (and it looks like they do) then I guess it's not an issue if he plays three seasons or so at the top level. They desperately need some sort of organisation at the back now that Vidic has jumped ship.

You've basically answered your own question there to be honest.

The media just produce more and more bullshit every day. Do they seriously think that Lallana would choose Spurs instead of Liverpool? I'd love it to happen, but there is 0% chance of it.

Depends if you threw a ton of money at him, that would be the only reason he'd choose Spurs over us i think.

Fabianski to Swansea.

Vela rumours picking up again which i'm happy about, not so happy about the £12m offer for David Marshall ffs.

We're being quite heavily linked to Alberto Moreno atm. Not seen too much of him but glad to see that we've recognised left back is a problem area.

I'd heard PSG had lost interest, but Monaco and Inter Milan were interested.

On the Lallana front, he's a Liverpool fan and wants to go there but then the lure of Poch plus £££ may sway him?

As far as I knew though he was pretty dead set on Liverpool.

Liverpool reportedly close to signing Rickie Lambert for £7million.

I thought it said he was an Everton fan. Then again Gerrard and Carragher were Toffees too so like it matters.

Word that Liverpool will pay over the odds for Lambert then get Lallana on the cheap as Bournemouth are due a good chunk of any fee for Lallana

But also the Lambert rumor was started by a bullshit Twitter account

I'd hate it if such a likeable player went to that lot.
