Hows it his fault?
Contracts work both ways, Inter are contractually obliged to pay him what they said they would for the duration of the contract. As far as I'm aware, Sneijder is willing to play so Inter have two choices sell him or pay him.
I think clubs not wanting him is because no one really needs him, and his form has been awful before and then he hasn't played a lot of football, rather than anything financial.
Jamieandhisego
Bollocks, any club would take Sneijder if he was on modest wages and available on a free.
Ninja
Well obviously, but there's plenty of players on big wages at all clubs around the world, if he was as good as he was 3 years ago clubs would be paying him that.
VP.
I very much doubt it, unless it was at one the Russian clubs or PSG.
Jamieandhisego
Yeah, but I'd say that if he's not good enough to play for Inter Milan anymore, then although he is contractually obliged to be paid by his employers, for the sake of his career, he ought to be looking elsewhere. If he's still holding onto his massive wage packet, then he's not going to get his move. I would hate to see Sneijder waste his formative years at Anzhi or in the Chinese league.

Or the fact we've now got Rooney, Cleverley and Kagawa that can play that creative role.
He has a deal until 2015 and I wouldn't blame him if he just stayed put until then picking up his nice fat pay cheque every week. It's extremely poor how Inter have treated him, stating he's out of the team due to footballing reasons when it's quite obvious it's because they want to get rid of him and his high wages.
You can't enter into contract negotiations with a top player expecting him to take a wage cut and when he refuses throw your toys out of the pram, it's extremely unprofessional and at the end of the day they still have to pay his wages. The funny thing is if he doesn't move this month and doesn't play 10% of their games he can leave for free during the summer, so Inter better hope he doesn't get injured after January or they'll be the losers having to pay him and losing him for free.

Pretty sure his formative years have been and gone.
Jamieandhisego
Yeah, that's the real shame. Given that his game is hardly about pace and power, you'd think he could easily play at the highest level until he's at least 34.

His form can be fixed.

Eredivisie, La Liga, Serie A and Champions League winner, World Cup finalist, one of the best players of the past 5 years and you're worried about him not reaching his peak because he might end up going to China or Russia?!?!
Jamieandhisego
It's a complete waste of a player to go and play in a shit league.

How on earth is Sneijder in his formative years? He's 28, not 18.
Well Inter aren't playing him because he's refusing to take a wage cut, not because he's not good enough. I suspect his poor form prior to it didn't/doesn't help his bargaining position but that's not why he isn't playing.
But my point is if he was playing like a world beater money would be no object nor would the fact that clubs don't need him. We broke the bank for RVP, who is by all accounts on a wage very similar to Rooney, at 29 because he was that good. We'd do it again for Sneijder, and I expect thats true for most clubs, but he's not that good anymore.

Sam
So it'd seem he's holding out waiting for a better offer. Time will tell I guess.
Carroll.
The pieces I've read was that you was in for him this time as well seeing he's on the cheap but the wage demands put you off it.

Great signing, especially for 8m.

Doubt he'd pass a medical if so though, so we'll wait and see.
