I have a player in my Leeds team I bought from Brazil some time ago. He's in his 6th season at my club and recently gained citizenship. I am also the England manager and would love him to play for England. He has never been called up of capped by Brazil at any level. I'm wondering why he's not eligable for England?

He's not 'declared for nation'. He is a home grown player as has trained at my club for '3 years between 15-21'

How old is he? He will only become elgible after spending 5 years in England after the age of 18 iirc, so if he's not already 23 i'd wait until he is over the age of 23 to see if it changes, though if you think he's good enough for England theres a good possibility he may be called up for Brazil before then.

If a player has no blood ties to any of the home nations they can only call him up if he received 5 years of schooling in that country before the age of 18, that's what all the fuss about Januzaj has been about, they'd have to tear up that agreement for him to play for England.

Your guy's in the same boat, he may be a citizen but your never going to see him called up for England - if the game's accurate that is...
