What are the main tasks when you play FM? For me, who play FMC, the only thing I do is pick players for games and make transfers. But when you play FM, what do you do apart from that? Do you, for instance, need to talk to you players every week to keep the morale up? Or do you constantly need to see over your training? And in games, do you need to fill in every tactical aspect (like man-marking, individual player instructions) to win them?

Hi mate,

Training: 1st thing I do is bring in coaches to get at least 4* on each training category and ensure that the intensity of each category is not "heavy". I just monitor this once every few months incase a member of staff's attributes have decreased (very rarely happens), in which case I'll replace them. Generally only give staff a year's contract unless I know they are quality.

Player interaction: You can't hold team meetings every week, but it's always good to praise a player if they get MoTM, doing well in training, monthly awards, etc. Also chin players if their performances or training levels drop.

Tactics: Only bother man marking in big games or if I'm up against world class players. Usually set up two tactics (home and away, or offensive and counter), and assign player roles for each instead of chopping and changing every game to suit the opposition.

Hope this helps!

I only ever talk to the players when they come to me to bitch, never do team talks or press conferences, that's what the Ast Man is for. Tactics wise I always play the same tactic in every game, a trusty 433. Training is as easy as Fitness and Attacking Set Pieces.

The only thing I ever get nit picky with in FM is scouting and buying players, with everything else I just find something I like and leave it at that until I win the regional Champions League or get sacked.
