For the same reason the rest of the pack did: the current MP cut was sharper and better. If the megapack cut is recent and similar, there's no real need to cut a new one again.

But imo it kinda needs an update if it's from the last season, but i think i can improve it if i can get a higher quality source

We have 400,000+ images in the megapack. In an ideal world, they all get updated every season at least once. Realistically, it's not possible, and we don't just replace the previous cut with a newer one if it's not of at least a comparable quality. The Premier League website's 500x500 images aren't improvements. If you can get a higher quality source, go for it, but since it's not been updated, it might very well not be out there. 

My point is that, if you're having to search high and low for a better source, it's worth considering whether it's a good enough use of your time to potentially only eventually produce an imperceptibly different cut to what's in the megapack already.

@TheTongPro nice cuts of Premier League players. What is your source? Are you going to make more cuts?
