We don't need to have this information, we'll take it as given that the image uploaded is recent. Let's leave the comment page for information which is more relevant please.
Also, for future reference, when you have a lot of images to upload, then you should upload them as a pack instead of individually and save the both of us some time.
You can also upload up to 50 images per pack instead of just a maximum of 5 when done individually.

on the one hand yes, but there are many instances where the most »recent« available picture is several years old - one such example would be the henri belle pic from 2021, therefore i view it as important in order to date the image uploads.
what do you consider »relevant info«? that would be helpful to know.
as to packs, in principle a viable option, yes - but this was the first time i uploaded five pending pics, so never had the need to upload sets so far. i'll look into it if i have a bigger number of images for upload. 👍🏿

Many instances is over-egging it a bit. In your post history, there was only one instance, and it's very very much a rarity that someone intentionally posts such an old source. Lord help us if every uploader included the date the photo was taken. By all means, mention it if it's much older, but there's no need to otherwise.
If you have more than a couple of images, use the upload multiple function. It's quicker for you to upload, and quicker for cutters to take them all on at one go 👍

not at all, »many instances« is correct, as it doesn't refer to my uploads exclusively, but also the ones i come across when i browse and i happen to either recognize them or look them up and then see around which time they were taken or published.
either way, i don't have an issue with leaving out said info, even better for me. i'm thorough by default, but it saves me time if it's not required.
again, what kind of info do you consider relevant for comments so that i have a general idea?
if i happen to have a larger set of pics, i'll do the multiupload.

In the overwhelming majority of instances, nothing at all. Only add a comment if there's an actual need for it; if it's just background information, then it's not really necessary.
