Thanks for giving it a go but I've made it available for cutting again as it's quite a good source.

To start off cutting, can I suggest trying with a much simpler source in terms of hair (ideally bald or close-cut) and a white or plain background? What program and what technique are you using?

I am using Gimp 2 and using the Scissor Select Tool and thanks for the advice

I'm afraid that's a very rudimentary program and tool, which isn't really very practical for use in fiddly tasks such as cutting, because the edges will inevitably end up being very jagged. Could you try using Photoshop?

Are there any free versions of it as i don't really want to be paying that amount of money

You may be able to download a trial version which would expire after a month's use, I believe.
