Ideally, the face in a source is 180 pixels high. Anything smaller, as in the case your source, and the cut then comes out a bit blurry. By way of example, see this.
Besides, the two sources provided by Baja were much easier to cut as they had a single-colour background. The simpler the background, the easier to cut an image
