I've looked on the editor and at the player online, its the same player, for some reason called Santiago.

That's probably cause Santiago and Federico are twins (that's what I managed to understand from the infos I gathered online, so I can't be 100% sure). But Santiago is playing for the Platense reserve squad, while Federico played for Argentinos Juniors U20 and then, currently, for FC Stockholm. We have to wait for SI to create a dedicated entry for Federico (maybe with the new FM?). 😉
