I think in this case your cutout is of better image quality, the player's current cutout is a bit blurry/pixellated. @mons 

We want the original source images to be requested, not screenshots, because of any upscaling and reduction of quality that happens from screenshotting an image (for an extreme example, this is what happens when you screenshot and repost an image hundreds times - obviously doing it once won't have as much of an effect but it can still be noticeable!). 

I did some more digging, based on photos he posted on facebook back in 2010/11 where he looked at least 13 years old, I think his birth date is most likely 25 September 1997 (or could be 1996 because this facebook post from 2015, just a few days before his birthday, says he was 18 at the time) - he would've been 23 back when in his first full season with Hashtag in 2020/21 though. Hopefully one of the real Toms will be able to clarify the matter once and for all at some point! 😂

They're different people, the researchers used the wrong “Tom Anderson” profile. I don't know how exactly the mixup occured, but transfermarkt have made the same mistake. I'll see if I can try and uncover the truth of the matter because it does seem very confusing.

Hashtag's Tom Anderson (I'll call him Tom #1 for clarity): (sources for his previous clubs here) started at East Thurrock United, moved to Tilbury in 2016, then Basildon United in 2019, Hashtag in 2020, Aveley and  Great Wakering Rovers in 2021, before returning to Hashtag in 2022. Hashtag list 26 November 1999 as his birth date.

Confusingly there's another transfermarkt page for a Tom Anderson (who I'll call Tom #2) who used to play for East Thurrock United until 2015, and a matching playmakerstats profile (listing 13 first team appearances for East Thurrock until 2017) - both of which list a birth date of 2 July 1990. East Thurrock's Pitchero website lists 32 first team appearances from 2014-16, but Pitchero websites are often outdated so he might have played for them for longer. This is the picture of Tom #2, then aged 18, from East Thurrock's facebook page, and he does look quite similar to Tom #1…. He's currently 32 years old, quite a lot older than the 23 years old Hashtag claim Tom #1 to be.

And finally we have Tom Anderson who played for Birmingham City's academy (Tom #3). This is the player whose profile this originally was in-game before the researchers repurposed it to be for Tom #1. He moved to Billericay Town and Brentwood in 2019. Crucially, his birthdate is listed as 26 November 1999, i.e. the same as Tom #1. I can't find any more recent data on Tom #3 after 2020, so it might be that he was released and retired.

What I suspect is that Tom #1 is actually Tom #2 (so the Hashtag player would actually be 32 years old, not 23), but because research data is bad at lower levels, at some point someone saw Tom #3 was released from a big club's academy and without a club; Tom #2 had a club but no date of birth listed, and combined the two, creating a data profile of Tom #1.

Hopefully that wasn't too difficult to follow 😂

edit: it gets even more confusing - Hashtag's twitter says that Tom #1's birthday is actually on 25 September…

@Indietronic If you want to request multiple images, it's better to do so as a pack instead of requesting them all individually - it both saves time and allows you to request more than 6 images at once.

He's just signed for a top 6 club in England with a great deal of media attention around him, you can be sure that if a good source isn't available just yet, there will be one in the coming days or weeks. In fact, Chelsea are very good about uploading high quality source images for their players on their website and Enzo already has one that's quite good.

It's not a bad cutout per se, but you should crop the image closer to the chin like the current Megapack cutout. If you need to move the collar upwards for that, this video shows how to do it:

@GloomzoR The original source image should be large enough for a 250px cutout. (This source image might provide a better cutout too).

There's also a stray bit of his hand left in the cutout that should be erased (you can do it easily using Photopea), and the cutout should also be rotated slightly so that the player's face is upright rather than an angle, and cropped a little bit closer to the chin. These videos show how to do that:
 

I reported this bug to @Footygamer some time ago and I think only part of it was fixed. In the meantime you should be able to go to Forum Topic > First Unread that takes you to the most recent post (but only the most recent post and not the actual first unread message if there are multiple 😆)

@jazos Don't use an AI image enlarger if the source image is too small to produce an improvement over the current cutout.

@Emre Arsl You need to actually read the Cutout Submission requirements and the Tutorials and Guidelines Thread instead of repeating the same mistakes over and over without acknowledging the advice and instructions we have been giving you.

Cutouts should be:
1) Rotated so that the face is upright instead of leaning at an angle

2) Cropped so that there is only 2 or 3 pixels between the top of the canvas and the top of the hair, and 2 or 3 pixels between the bottom of the chin and the bottom of the canvas.

Unfortunately the images from the Bundesliga website aren't very large (or, rather, the size of the player's face in the images is small) so they would have to be upscaled to meet the 250px cutout requirements. Both Torsiello and Vilhelmsson already have good quality cutouts from this season (Vilhelmsson's in particular is fairly similar in terms of lighting and image quality to the Bundesliga player portraits), so upscaling smaller images wouldn't result in improved cutouts.

If you're just looking for Bundesliga/2. BuLi player portraits in general, Sorarebase has high quality/high resolution versions of most of the ones uploaded on the Bundesliga website. (You can use this trick to get the full size image)
