Only saw the first half of the Rangers game as the missus came home and demanded we watch something else

Looks like they got a penalty late on to make it a bit more comfortable. Thought they were rather fortunate with their first! Goalkeeper should have saved it. Glad to see they got a win for Gerrard, though I don't see them battling too hard for the title on that performance. Still, very early days yet!

Dundalk grabbed a one goal win away, which could prove vital. Cliftonville finished with a one nil loss and it will be difficult to turn around away from home, but at least it is only one! Derry City lost by two at home, so their task is twice as hard! Shamrock Rovers will also have to overcome a one nil deficit if they have any hope of reaching the group stage again. The Welsh side Connah's Quay did not fair any better, going down 3-1 - but at least they gave the home crowd something to cheer about.

Hibernian were the pick of the night! Crushing their opponents 6-1 with Kamberi carrying on some nice form to bag a hat trick. True, they were against ten men for an hour, but they seemed to be in control before that anyway.

The World Cup may not have finished quite yet, but European qualification is underway.

No English teams yet but plenty of Scottish, Irish and Welsh teams in the early rounds.

Thankfully BT Sport is showing games so I can continue to watch football for most of the week!

Rangers are currently playing a Macedonian team called Shkupi and Hibs are already up and scoring against Runavik. Didn't go so well earlier for Derry City or Connahs Quay.

Just shows even with VAR, decisions will still be incorrect. At least the discussion point is still there, but sad that an injustice can still be made.

If you want a team promoting then Neil Warnock is your man.

Favourites to go straight back down though?

Ox now confirmed as out for the rest of the season, so potentially a Chapions League final!

Also out of the World Cup. Not a great night for him.

I agree the interaction with players and the team seems to be limited as to the player approaching you to talk about something after/during the event happening,

It would be nice to be able to pre-empt this or even initiate a conversation with a player other than "suggest future staff role"!

(You may have noticed I've moved your topic to the correct forum now, @brian48 )

Are the shorts and top different shades of red? Doesn't look like it on Van Dijk but does on Mané...

Joey Barton to become new Fleetwood manager

Will be interesting to see how this turns out, despite being a bit of a knob he's clearly a decent player on his day.

Fleetwood seem to be eating through managers at the moment.

In other news, congratulations to Accrington Stanley on being promoted! First time in their history that that'll play in the third tier.

I hope there is enough of the chin here! I imagine bits of the hair might be a bit tricky too.

As always, much appreciated if someone could do this please!

Arsenal get Atletico Madrid in the next round...If they win that then surely they will be favorites?

If Marseille win against Red Bull though, the final is in France (I think) and that could see them power on to win it.

So Liverpool get Roma and Bayern face Real Madrid in the semis.

Both games should be crackers.

I think it's just about borderline cuttable although the resulting quality may not be the best if/when somebody takes it on...

I don't know anything about cutting really, but could they include a bit of the collar or shoulders so it doesn't look so tiny?

Wow, two big wins in a row. 5-0 thrashing of Bradford at the weekend (thanks Larry, don't think you'll be long there!) and then 3-0 against Northampton tonight. Feel we're safe now. So fair play to Bowyer because managing at this club is not easy - even moreso with all the off the field issues! Hopefully they will be resolved to coincide with the end of the season and we can see how good a manager he really can be.

In other news, just seen that Mick McCarthy has ragequit Ipswich four games early!

Are you sure about that? I've managed in the lower leagues every FM and I swear you can always offer part time contracts for more than one year. I think the year options do change depending on the squad status of the player now, though.

Please be at least 4/5-0 for City.

It should have been from the first half alone. Fair play to United, SAF would have been proud of that turn around.

Klavan v Walcott is the biggest mismatch, surely. I understand Moreno doesn't really defend but I would still have picked him to start. I really don't rate Solanke, even as a supposed up-and-coming. I'd rather Brewster! I do hope Ings can get 90 minutes under his belt and at least have a couple of shots!

Wijnaldum should bully Rooney in the centre

Not as true to the book as some will hope for, but I still found it an enjoyable watch.

Shape of Water - 7/10
I didn't know what to expect from this film, but others had seen it and said it was good. I wasn't disappointed, it is a good watch and well worth your time.
