The charge, which the player admitted and requested a paper hearing, was that he acted in a way which was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute in that the comment was posted on his Twitter account and included a reference to a person/s sexual orientation and/or disability."

Nothing about the swearing, I'm fairly sure the FA wouldn't be able to fine someone for a swear on twitter

How would giving away free tickets funnel money into the club/or give City more financial clout. And if they are going to meet FFP easily, then what is the point? This would mean City's owners would be spending a lot of money to lie in their accounts, which I'd imagine could get them a punishment from UEFA.

EDIT - I don't think Chelsea did anything to 'spin a profit', when Abramovich turned debt into equity he made them 'debt free' (they're not - He still has loans to Fordsham Ltd who own Chelsea and can demand it back) Even so if Abramovich did make Chelsea debt free he wouldn't be spinning anything, just writing off huge chunks of his personal wealth.

How much difference is there between sales and attendance at Manchester clubs?

I doubt City would need any creative accounting to fit into FFP. I don't really see how by having a bigger stadium they can just pretend they have more revenue anyway.

I think building the costs of increasing the stadium would probably be exempt from FFP anyway so it would give City a chance to boost revenues and the stadium increases are arguably inevitable, if the owners are dedicated and keep putting the money in.

EDIT - Means when they do have the increased revenue potential, which can then lead to increased expenditure. iirc FFP is goint to benefit Manchester United most due to their amazing revenue streams, the Manchester City directors probably need to attempt to build their own streams to compete - An increased stadium is probably required.

Booing never starts at HT though, it happens when a player misplaces a pass or something and the fans start moaning, which gradually builds up, and playing with a home crowd on your back will make everything harder.

And booing at FT even can turn one bad result into a crisis, it definately happened at Newcastle one bad performance against West Ham saw the crowd turn against the team, and we lost our next three games, with the team looking completely out of confidence. Thankfully the last two home games have been improvements.

KM, but what if your team plays great, you cheer, and the other teams fans boo, because they're team was outplayed?

The fans got behind the team in the 4-4. And it definately does make teams play worse, the negative attitude certainly brings down performances. Blackburn would have booed their way to a Champiobship last season if booing made a difference.

Rubbish. If a little bit of booing affects a team then they're obviously not mentally strong enough to be on the pitch in the first place.

Fans pay the money and have a right to voice their displeasure especially if, like Poe said, the players aren't giving their all.

Can you honestly think of one time, when a team has been booed and then went on to a great victory/comeback/performance?

And the owners will put in a lot more money than the fans.

Anyway I still can't see Ashley panic buying, If he does bring them in I reckon it will be because he thinks they're good deals rather than because we are currently struggling.

Any news on whether anyone got into trouble for the smoke cannister? Presumably it could do some damage if it hit someone? It landed near me, and everyone was LIVID.

Also is it just me who thinks talking about how loud fans are is the worst thing about football? OUR FANS ARE MENTAL AND ALWAYS SINGING.

Shawcross got what he deserved, he's a thug who grapples and kicks people week in week out, It's about time someone stood up to him, He was dragging Fellaini everywhere just before it happened.

With that being said he'll more than likely get a three game ban, ffs.

Fellaini is just as bad.

Is it not the other way around, with Kolarov alleged to have said something racist?

A fan made the complaint, but it isn't clear whether it was aimed at Kolarov or another fan.

A lot of that depends on the CB's and how a team is organised in general though.

Cech was a spectator the other day when Carlton Cole got in ahead if Ivanovic to score a header from about six yards out on a floated cross.

Out of Saha, Campbell, Wickham and Ji, would you have any of them now? Campbell just isn't right at the moment and Saha has been less than impressive.

I'm not saying they are great, but sometimes a manager has to make do and find a short term fix until January. FWIW Saha can still probably score goals if they get the ball in the box enough. And I suppose Ji, Wickham and Campbell need to have a real crack at fulfilling their potential and it might as well be now.

O'Neils biggest problem was the summer.

Sunderland didn't have a brilliant squad to start with so spending 26m on 2 players was ridiculous.

If he spread that over 4/5 players they'd be in a much better position.

Bruce brought in 10 first team squad players the summer before, so you could argue that it was quality needed rather than depth.

I'm not keen on HBA being a AMC, he gives the ball away too much, and can be dangerous, where as on the wing it's normally harmless and often results in corners and throw ins. Where as Cisse and Ba seem totally incapable of forming a partnership, they seem to go for the same balls and just get in each others way. So a 4-3-1-2 would probably only work on paper unfortunately. I think as a plan B though Santon should definately be considered being shoved up the right flank.

I think in January top priority should be buying a back up for Cabaye, because we simply don't have a midfielder who can create at the moment, meaning most of our play in predicatable and slow and results in a Jonas/Santon/Simpson delivery. I sort of reckon Guthrie on loan might be a good option.

Sunderland have Saha, Campbell, Wickham and Ji so they should be able to make do until January imo. I really hope they don't get Guidetti though.

I think he's meant to be competent at both.

MON still seems to have the backing of the fans, but his tactics are the main problem imo. Fletcher seems to be isolated and the only man in the box, with Johnson and McClean playing as very wide wingers, and their main tactic seems to be 'get to the byline, hit a cross' but they have nothing to aim at, with Gardner and Cattermole very, very deep. I reckon Sunderland should drop Sessegnon and put on another striker and go with a 4-4-2. It would increase the chances of a cross actually finding a striker.

I wouldn't really say Marveaux is a winger, he's a very weird player, but he's not the sort of guy to give natural width, I reckon Pardew would worry about him and HBA in the same team. But I reckon Pardew has completely forgot how he got Newcastle to play well last season.

I get what you're saying but there was plenty of difference between the two. Cazorla went down under no contact at all, and Chamberlain was hacked down at full speed. One wasn't a penalty, one definitely was.

I know there is a difference, I'm just saying if Steven Reid's legs were in a slightly different position, the Cazorla penalty would be a stonewaller as well. I'm assuming Cazorla was hoping Reid would clip him as he cut inside.

Basically the problem is players looking to go down and attempting to draw contact to win a penalty, rather than looking to score/go past the player and being taken down.

It's such a hard issue to tackle though, I thought there was actually very little difference in the dive between Cazorla and Oxlade-Chamberlain other than Reid missed and Macauley (Popov/Olsson?) actually made contact.

If Cazorla cut inside and does the exact same dive and Reid is a bit slower and Cazorla goes over his foot it's a stonewaller and no one would say it is a dive.

Where as I think Oxlade-Chamberlain goes past the defender sees the challenge and goes down, where as if the defender pulled out before making contact I reckon Oxlade-Chamberlain would already be on the floor and that would be considered to be a dive.

Can you elaborate please?

Anyone watching Arrow? I really like it but I think it's going to really suffer from too many episodes in a season. I think it's my favourite new show this season. Watched a couple episodes of Last Resort, the pilot was excellent, but I thought the follow up episode was average.

I really dislike Platini, but I think is work on reforming the CL has been good at getting more 'Champions' into the actual competition and he seems to be trying on the Europa League, and he doesn't seem to be corrupt.

Not sure why people are so against this, considering most people will still be watching on TV anyway, but now may be able to go to a game or whatever.

Only been watching intermittently but Santon looked really good during the first half. First time I've had a chance to see him play since he left Italy.

Santon has been excellent this season for us this year, although he starts needing to turn possesion in dangerous areas into assists/chances. Today I think was his first chance. Should definately be considered for one of Italy's wing back slots. - He can play both which should be a bonus as a squad player I guess. Anita was tremendous tonight, my MOTM.

The expression the ref 'ruined the game' is so stupid.

On the subject of chanting, aren't 99.9% of chants completely awful?

Singing anything to the tune of Sloop John B should be met with a death penalty. At the very least 'Just can't get enough' seems to have be fairly non-existant this season.

I'm not an expert at all, but wouldn't bombing a football stadium potentially killing/injuring British/Italian/Russian etc citizens be about the worst thing Hamas/Hezbollah could do? Wouldn't that just turn potential sympathisers totally against Palestine? And potentially pro-Israel. Possibly to the extent of backing Israel to do wath the hell it likes and turning a blind eye.
