If we don't beat Wigan we could well end the Christmas period in the bottom three. This is getting absurd.

Did you watch the game? We probably deserved to win. Much improved from Southampton.

Pardew actually got his tactics sorted for once, sat much deeper.

Just me who is a bit bored of Johnson?

And did anyone find Mark to come across as a sociopath in the curry scene? Not just neurotic and awkward, but actually disturbed? Really liked the Jeremy therapy scenes though.

From the third tier to midtable Premier League in 12 years, appearing in an FA Cup Final, qualifying for Europe and nearly trebling attendances. Maybe thats no where by Manchester United standards. And it should be noted that Pulis is generally aiming for a higher class of player. Charlie Adam, Steven N'Zonzi and Peter Crouch are certainly better than general big cloggers. As well as Palacios, Owen, and attempts to sign Ba and Huddlestone etc.

Of course Stoke's style of play is going put of a lot of players and being a limiting factor, but that argument doesn't make sense, as those players wouldn't be willing to play for a mid-table Championship side playing a more attractive style of football.

Oh are we having a go at Stoke?

I'll have a go at Stoke.

There's something to be said for the fact that it works, but I hate how people think that because it's effective it's therefore admirable. They're a horrible little club, from a horrible little city managed by a horrible cunt. In fact, Stoke City are a fantastic advert for why you should never go to Stoke.

Their fans also seem to think that we have some kind of rivalry, which is funny, because they're so insignificant. I think their biggest PROPER rivalry is with Port Vale, that says it all.

I also can't stand how stagnant they are, they're going no where. As effective as Pulis football is, it's also going to be a hugely limiting factor that ensures the club goes no where. There going to slide slowly, slowly, towards the relegation zones and one day the specter of Stoke City will be happily removed from this division finishing the story of the most pointless team that's ever been in the Premiership.

But, just like watching them, talking about Stoke is boring. No one likes Stoke, no one will defend them and no one disagrees. The greatest compliment I'd take if I was a Liverpool fan on here is that you are at least important enough, still, to be actively hated. I'd be worried about the day no one hates United any more, because it would mean, for some reason, that we were no longer important enough to be hated.

Most arrogant post ever?

More the point of complaining how a player turned his back on the club before immediately changing your username to his replacement. Especially as his replacement left his local team for Liverpool.

I really enjoy the more obsuce elements of IBWM. And the retro section can be really interesting. When I'm bored at Uni I normally check out ESPN Soccernet, F365, 442 and WSC websites.

Does anyone know any blogs that specialise in German football?

Why did Ferguson scrap the diamond? Worked well against Newcastle.

I can't actually tolerate being inside a football stadium any more. Why is it the more moronic a person's viewpoints are, the louder they will shout them? Anyway I was rooting for Swansea today. Glad they took the 3 points. I'm not even disappointed or angry with the players, I think they tried hard, I just have so much disdain for the fairweather fans/morons. The fans gave in well before the players did.

Who should I support WBA or Norwich? They're maybe the team I hate the least.

I'll put the right answers in spoiler tags if you want.

1. Offside as the attacker has gained an advantage
2. The referee chooses end.
3. Ask the team with 11 players to nominate 2 players who will not take part.
4. The referee, assistant referees and players.
5. Dismiss the player and allow him to be replaced by a substitute in the starting line up
6. None of the above
7. Substitution
8. Dismiss the player and award a penalty kick as the incident took place in the penalty area.
9. Award a corner kick (probably the trickiest one, because it's not really common sense)
10. Offside in the centre of the pitch
11. Head the ball
12. 6 players

Wait, what? There are different offside flags? Had no idea

Given the number of wingers being called up at the moment, I'm stunned that Anthony Pilkington hasn't got the nod. Top-scoring English midfielder in the Premier League last season, supplier of top-notch crosses, Norwich's best player (look at their results with and without him), and the Englishman who's created the most Premier League chances this season, despite being in and out through injury. Only Juan Mata has created as many chances.

But Sterling plays for Liverpool, so gets the call-up despite not being anywhere near ready yet.

Depends on Hodgson's ideology is I suppose. Depends if he's happy to call up a lot of 'lesser' players and give them a few caps when they're in form and there is a meaningless friendly to be played. Or to try and integrate the likes of Sterling, Zaha, Oxlade-Chamberlain etc. early to set the foundations early and prepare for the future.

In his defence, through no fault of his own he might struggle to win a European Championship.

It may seem that way to a small minded racist like yourself, but not being from Europe is not a barrier at all to the European Championships.

I reckon it's probably in a way harder to support the big teams. Every defeat matters and is costly. No team has lost as many league titles in the PL than Manchester United. Probably.

Yeah, he has been increible this season.

How come he's allowed to be called Luis Suarez anyway? He can be Luis Suarez when he has 3 Seria A's, 2 Intercontinental Cups, Two European Cups, a European Championship and a Ballon d'Or. Pretender.

Really? A national league in Monaco? It's so small.

I don't think I took into account how small Monaco was. I assumed it was about the size of Andorra or something. According to Wiki there is several teams based there though.

I can't remember where I read the article but I think it may have been an old FourFourTwo or World Soccer, but it said Monaco would have no interest in joining the Monagesque Federation, but the French FA put the block on it anyway just in case. Although arguablly it would be a good thing for AS Monaco, if they could join the Monagesque Federation and compete in their National Cup and stay in the French Leagues, (like FC Vaduz), they would have an almost guarenteed Europa place.

Anyway in reaserching this I learned the Vatican City also have a team and their biggest defeat was against Palestine. MON.

iirc I think Monaco want an FA, but France or FIFA were worried about AS Monaco joining the new Monaco league or something, making the process more difficult.
