I tried to give the image a more natural looking color.

I'll let you cut that one.

Personally , i think the best sources are video 1080p screenshots. It is generally very recent.

I go to youtube and i type the name of the player. So facebook or RMC sport is well for the good video.

@77david54 Are you sure this image is the correct person? If it's just from a random twitter account or facebook profile it might just be someone unrelated with the same name.

He comes from Abidjan.

Here's a video showing how to remove snow. As far as I'm concerned the method I'm using is the exact same as the one in the video from 2010, which I think actually explains the method better than I do.

Now , i know to remove snow and i will recut this player.

@mons Hello The quality isn't good ?

I don't see how the quality isn't good , the source is a PNG image. He has a blister on his cheek , probably a burn. Compared to that in the megapack , the two pixelate at the forehead , and the one waiting too. A clone stamp and it's solved.

You and Hasjasja , you both know how to cut.

I invite you to produce a cut out face each , better quality for this player , in order to benefit the whole community.

Ah, I see. What @77david54 can do in these cases is use the edit/restore function in remove.bg to make the unnecessarily cut off part of the collar disappear. That said, it looks perfectly fine as is right now imo tbh.

Very practical but a bit long the restore function and so erase. I spent time there so i hope you keep this one.

I suggest changing the source for him unless you know how to do it.

I tried to erase the blue area on the right , the result is the same in “ remove.bg ”.

I'm afraid it's not an improvement on Parker26's cutout, which didn't have anything wrong with it in my opinion. A side effect of you brightening the image means that the shadows of the image are washed out. I'd recommend using either the Levels or Curves adjustments instead of Exposure, as that way it's easier to brighten the highlights and midtones while keeping the shadows dark.

Ok thanks for this information.

Nice cut out face ! I tried on photopea.com , image then adjustments then exposure then shift from 0 to 0,5 to lighten the left side a little. I don ‘ t know if it ’ s also beautiful but it ' s more visible.

Please , out of respect for the cutters , try to find the best possible source. For that one , i found this source in 20 seconds on google images. Afterwards i looked for better but without success.
Go on facebook and type " Olympique de Marseille " , there are lots of images of young OM , instagram or twitter too.
The source you offer is of the lowest possible quality. Zoom in on it and you ' ll see how it pixelates all over the place.

All that did here was to upsize the image, which does not actually increase image quality. All it does is just decrease the sharpness of the image and there's no real benefit by doing that.

So the result will be the same whether we cut one or the other , we might as well keep the original size if i understood correctly.
I wanted to be sure before cutting others.
Otherwise is there a way to improve the quality of an image ?
I won ' t bother you too much with my questions , you have already helped me enough.
Thank you so much.

A PNG image is not necessarily of better quality to a JPG image. In this case, the reason I believe it might be better has got nothing to do with image quality (or provenance) but to the fact that the face in the second source takes up more space, and will therefore result in a sharper cut, than the one in the first image.

As an aside, in the future please do not use the upload response button when uploading an alternativee source because this automatically marks the first image as completed - which it would be better to leave to the cutter's discretion to decide which to use 😉 Just use the upload image button so there are 2 pending sources 🙂 Then either a staff member decides to reject either of them or a cutter decides to cut one instead of the other

Ok it ' s noted.
The cutter usually chooses the easiest source to cut and not necessarily the best or the most recent source. Afterwards , it is already very nice to cut it.
Something else , do we get a better result if we change the image size by replacing " 96 dpi " by " 300 dpi " for example in " photopea.com ".
The image size automatically adapts to the new resolution , here 300 dpi.
This enlarges the image to about 300%. Does this give a sharper cut ? Personally , i see no difference because we can zoom in if we want.
I do it only when the source is too small so very rarely. I show you an example just below.

@Hasjasja
The first image comes from the site " ligue1.fr " , the second image comes from the official website of RC Lens. Logically , the second image should be better because an PNG image is of better quality than an JPG image of 96 dpi.
Mons , you know better , what do you think ?

I don't know what you're doing to 'burn' the hair like you did in the second cut, but please avoid doing it in the future 👍

We have the right to have a little fun , i tried to clear the snow a little but it doesn ' t feel natural.
I did not take the right sample but it is difficult when the player does not have black hair.

There are two players who have these names , i put the right player , the other three cut out faces are of mamadi camara who play in Canada.
An other question ? How much do you put in opacity to remove the snow. I have already seen the video , thank you.

@77david54 Omg dude, this site is marvelous, thanks for that man!

And to erase the snow in the hair , you use "photopea.com" , it ' s free , it ' s a navigator , nothing to download.
You go to the right of the screen and lock transparent pixels. Then you go to the left on the sixth icon " brush tool " , right click , then on the fourth icon "duplication tool or clone stamp button ". Then dark mode , opacity at 65% , and on " alt " on the right to take a sample that you will use on the snow , try.
@mons , can you confirm if my method is good for clearing snow ?
And to have a black background in " photopea.com " , it ' s easier to remove the snow , i think.
At the top , go to layer , then layer style , then " contour " , then black color.
Do not forget to uncheck " contour " when the job is finished to have a transparent background.

@weeniehutjr I'll be training that collar thing this week
As on the jagged edges, do you have any tip to help with them?

Too bad , yours cut out faces are well but cutting spoils everything. Try to download the face of an image in " remove.bg ". You will be surprised !
The cut will be clean , fine and the background will be erase.

Yes you can, using the exact same method as that outlined in the video on how to remove snow in the tutorial to cutters thread.

The video is from 2010. When i open photopea.com , it doesn ' t look like the video menu.
The eighth icon which is used on the video , is not visible on today ' s photopea.com. Can someone remake an updated video of 2021. Or explain in writing on which icon to click.
For example , " brush tool " then " color replacement ".
Thank you.

@77david54, there's a line right around his head - no idea how you managed to get it. If you used remove.bg on the source and just cropped the ensuing cut, you'd get better results than whatever it is you're using.

I know where the line comes from , it won ' t happen anymore. Otherwise , now i know to crop , to resize and to remove an object with photopea.com but i can ' t find to clear the snow. Can we do it with photopea.com free ?

Please avoid using Paint 3D, I can't stress this enough. I would say that I almost prefer you not to be cutting if it's Paint 3D that you're using. Photopea is very easy to use and is more versatile. After using remove.bg, you usually only need to crop and resize the image. If you can't figure out how to use it, look on YouTube for videos of Photoshop and it's practically identical.

It is true , i just need to crop , resize the image and clear the snow too. I ' m going to watch one day , i haven ' t found the time , that ' s all.
