@Fidney, when you have multiple images to upload, make it easier for the both of us and upload them as a pack in the future. And if the source is large enough and of enough quality, they should be cut in 250x250 👍

 

I do cut at 250x250 when source images are large enough to produce at that size whilst cutting tight to the face, but alas images for U23s/U18s and staff are often not large enough for that - some have to be upscaled even to get 180x180!

Good cuts @Fidney, but keep in mind that we aim to have the image cropped no more than 2-3 pixels from the chin while having a collar.

 

Since in some sources, the person in the image has a longer neck than usual or the collar is lower down, the above would be quite difficult to achieve naturally. 

 

Here's a technique of how the above can be accomplished quite easily by lassoing the collar and nudging it upwards:

 

 

Also, if the source is large enough, we prefer to have the cut in 250x250, though 180x180 is acceptable if it's a small or low-quality source 👍

 

Thanks for the advice @mons, will certainly try and do better with any others I make.

 

I only made the ones I did because I'm a bit of a completist and it bugs the heck out of me when I get silhouette faces in my squad or staff. When I bag the manager's job at a club the first thing I do is find real faces where I can - and in most cases the source images are far from the best (which I guess is why they were “gaps” in the first place). If I can't find real faces I even go so far as going into the editor to check skin tone and hair colour before selecting an appropriate image from my face-bank (genuine photos but not the real face for the person)!!

 

The ones I uploaded were for my current save and a few from previous saves that I still had lying about, and I decided to upload them in case anyone else found them useful (all uploaded ones are real genuine faces, none of them from my face-bank)

 

I've always made 180x180 because that always used to be the standard size, and hadn't twigged that it had changed to the larger size until you mentioned it. Annoyed with myself for that because the last bunch I did were nice big images even larger than 250x250 which I shrunk down to 180x180 just before saving!

@Carsie  I'm not sure why that is, but there are a number of potential reasons (see below). This is what I see in my game:

(I also use a lnc file to change the competition name)

 

And this is what I see using my test graphic which I use to make sure I've got the ID correct: 

I can think of a few reasons why the image may not show in your game:

  1. You have skin caching enabled in your preferences. If you have, disable this.
  2. You have not reloaded the skin after adding the logos to your game. If you have not done this, do this AFTER disabling the caching.
  3. The png file is not named 2000094524.png
  4. The line in the config is not correct. It should read <record from="2000094524" to="graphics/pictures/comp/2000094524/logo"/>
  5. You have the same ID in a config in a different logo pack, causing a conflict.
  6. The competition has a different ID in your game for some reason.

@FM Reporter  well you shot that idea down in flames!! 😄. Guess I wasn't thinking it through properly, the only way it might work was if you had exactly the same Db set up as I did but if you have more (or less) active leagues that the game is going to need to generate more (or less) support staff meaning there's a bigger “wedge” of generated IDs between the last database ID and the manager ID.

 

Still, it was a nice idea whilst it lasted.

 

@Vasamm it's the first 999,999 lines that are the worst, it gets easier after that 😁.

 

In all seriousness, I actually use a combination of Excel and Notepad++ to change the IDs in the config so it's actually quite simple to do (as long as you are confident messing about in Excel and Notepad++ of course).

 

Attached config.xml contains the ID range 2002042238 - 2003090237 which should work for FM22 if used in place of the one in Rowan's pack.

 

I recommend you only use it to detect the actual ID and then create a new config with just a few lines in for the found IDs to use in the game, otherwise it may interfere with faces if you use a custom database with additional people added, or if SI increase the number of people in the Db in a future patch.

Folks, the UID finder does work but the IDs are significantly higher so you need to adjust the ID range in the XML file in order to get it to work. 

 

The last ID of a person in the database is currently 2002042237 and my manager ID is 2002105914. I never twigged before that my personal assistant's ID is mine+1 but it is indeed. You live and learn! Shame that the other IDs - press officer and player liaison officer aren't as easy to deduce.

 

However, I have found that the ID numbers for the press officers etc, in FM22 fall somewhere within the range 2002042237 - 2003090236 (yes, I have 1,048,000 lines in the config I use in the UID finder!!)  The range in my XML is way bigger than it needs to be, and if I was a betting man I'd say the actual range is within 2002042238 (last person ID+1) - 2002105913 (my manager ID-1)

 

ADDENDUM

Press Officer ID in my save is 2002071583 which is my manager ID-34331
Player Liasion Officer ID in my save is 2002071584 which is my manager ID-34330

 

Anyone care to test whether this is a constant and see if they can find the ID for those in their save by using the above sums?

Just a quick question. I've used your default kits for god knows how long now, but I always have a shadow behind the kit. It is more noticeable around the collar and sleeves. Is there something I've done wrong? 

 

I have tweaked the overlay layer a little this year so it is a better fit as the previous one had a very thin brighter outline that was mostly noticeable on a dark background, but I wouldn't call that a shadow and I don't think that's what you mean here.

 

My initial suspicion based on your description is that the file path to the default kit folder is not 100% exactly as it should be, and if not, then although the SS style default kits will work they will have the SI overlay layer instead of the one in my pack and that overlay is (obviously!) a slightly different shape and size. It is almost transparent and where it overlaps the SS style shape it would be visible as a shadow.

 

Of course that's only a suspicion based on your described symptoms - can you post a screenshot of what you see please?

@wfm18, thanks for the offer but I don't have anything that I was really attempting to do convert, I was just trying it out, and I'm just a dabbler when it comes with working with images so can't really justify the expense of upgrading to CC.

 

This is a really impressive project and has the potential to revolutionise kit-making in the FM community. I look forward to seeing how this progresses and really hope that people do buy into it.

This is simply amazing work @wfm18 & @DokteurHaisse, my jaw is on the floor!

 

I would never have thought something like this was even possible, but not only is it possible, the results are outstanding. I really hope that this does take off in a big way and it can only benefit the community as a whole if all the very talented kit makers out there were to concentrate on just one style instead of dividing their efforts over 3 different styles.

 

My Photoshop skills are pretty basic, but luckily for me, using your scripts doesn't seem to require any Photoshop knowledge at all. I have downloaded and had a play with the scripts and I am really, really impressed with the results, although they haven't turned out as well as your examples.

 

These are converted from bolid74's 3D kits for FM 21

 

 

 

 

 

For me, the sleeves on both seem a bit off. On the SS kit the left sleeve needs rotating slightly forwards, the right sleeve slightly backwards, whilst on the Standard kit both sleeves need rotating a backwards. On both, the badge and the manufacturers logo are a little high and on the standard kit, the badge has not warped in the way that it does on SI's kits and in in your examples.

 

I get pretty much the the same when using SI's 3D kits lifted from FM22, although the placement of the badge and manufacturer's log is better:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Could this be something to do with my version Photoshop (CS6 version 13.0 x64) or am I using the scripts incorrectly? All I have done is open Photoshop, drag and drop the .jsx file into the open window, then follow the prompts to pick the appropriate config and set where I want to save the output.

Hello mate.

The logo don´t show up on the kit.

 

Unfortunately badges will no longer show on the default kits if you have a logo/badge for that team. Something happened in one of the FM21 patches which stopped them showing, and whatever it was it seems to have been carried into FM22.

 

The badge will only show on the default kits if the you also have the default (fake) badge for that team.

on a separate note, i know it's more complicated but could i use the resource extractor and replace the default kits with your ones then repackage the file.

 

If your editor won't load then I'd recommend undoing the changes you've made. To be honest, it really is not worth the effort just to see the SS style kits in the editor. Seemed cool at the time, but now it's pretty much “meh”. The editor is not the game itself, and (unless you are addicted to tinkering) you will only use it once in a blue moon so it really isn't worth the effort.

 

I had to reformat my laptop a few months ago and haven't bothered making these changes on my current installation. Still use the SS style default kits in-game though (along with the SS kits packs, metallic logos, facepacks etc.) just don't bother with making them show in the editor.

 

On your separate note, I think that would work OK - I can't see why it wouldn't but I haven't tried anything like that myself. Just make sure you take a backup of the .fmf file before you start messing with it because if you don't and things go tits up you might well end up having to reinstall your game. I'm a great one for not following my own advice there - to my cost!

Yes I do. I have my User Data folder in a custom location (D:\Football Manager User Data) but everything inside that is structured as per the default location (C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021) so path for me is:

 

D:\Football Manager User Data\graphics\pictures\ etc.

The issue is that they should be showing the kits attached.
All other clubs have the “custom” kits showing, apart from Cheltenham. I have checked file names etc however all is how it should be - or so I believe.

Ah right, I'm with you now. I have seen similar issues historically, and these have not been connected to using the SS style default kits.

 

First thing I'd do is check that you have not inadvertently got another folder containing a config.xml that has lines in it for Cheltenham (for example in a folder where you may have had the kits previously, even if there are no actual kits in that folder).

 

If you are confident that is not the problem, then a fix that has worked historically for kits that refuse to show has been as follows:

 

Go into the folder containing those kits and open the config.xml file.

 

In there find the lines:

<record from="cheltenham_1" to="graphics/pictures/team/631/kits/home"/>
<record from="cheltenham_2" to="graphics/pictures/team/631/kits/away"/>

 

DUPLICATE them, and then edit the duplicate lines by adding the year** at the end, like so:

<record from="cheltenham_1" to="graphics/pictures/team/631/kits/home/2021"/>
<record from="cheltenham_2" to="graphics/pictures/team/631/kits/away/2021"/>

 

** The year you need to put is the year in-game that the kits are not showing for. 

 

NOTE: You may end up having to repeat this a number of times if the issue occurs over a number of in-game years.

I have done everything you told me and still the pictures don't work look at the images.

 

Paul - I'm stumped.

 

You config looks fine, and from the screenshot it's in the right folder and that folder is in the right place for it to work.

 

Can I just check that This PC > Documents > Sports Interactive > Football Manager 2021 your user data folder (if so, your save games will be in This PC > Documents > Sports Interactive > Football Manager 2021 >  Games)?

 

Are you using any kit packs and if so where are they installed? If you have a League One pack then it should contain Burton Albion kits which may cause a conflict.

I'm not sure what has happend on my save.
I changed a shirt - ensuring the file name was the same - I have done this thousands of times, yet for some reason it gave me a white outline.
 

Downloaded and put this file in place and its gone a bit odd. Now its ONLY the Cheltenham shirts that are like this, every other team is fine.

I have also deleted and redownloaded the kits files and nothing.

Hi mate - not sure I can see the issue. I might be misunderstanding, but those shirts seem fine to me and I cannot see any white outline.

 

Have you got any other pictures you can post that might show the issue more clearly?

OK, this is weird - I now have the same problem. Back in December they definitely worked fine ( I posted a screen capture HERE in this thread), but today, I don't get any logos showing on any of the default kits.

 

Been doing some digging into it and it looks like it is an issue/bug with the game and his issue is mentioned in the Metallic Logos thread HERE. Like you, I use the Metallic Logos and i have done a bit of testing:

 

Use SS style default kits and use Metallic Logos = No shirt badges

Use SS style default kits and no logo pack = I see shirt badges

Remove SS style default kits but still use Metallic logos = No shirt badges

Remove SS style default kits and no logo pack = I see shirt badges

 

Guess something in one of the updates of patches between December and now has stopped them showing if you use a logo pack.

Hi Fidney.

I can't get my shirts to show.

In FM21 i have not added any downloadable kits or anything else, all i tried was the kit editor to change the colours and add the strips.

In my pictures directory C:\Users\mynane\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\graphics\pictures i only have 1 folder called ads, and I don't have any other files in there.

I made a folder called tigerskit and added your 3 png files and the xml file and that didn't do anything when i rebooted my game.

I need your input on how i can fix this.

Sorry, it's my fault, forgot to change the ID in the config.xml file from the one I checked it with to the one you have for your team!

 

Open the config.xml file in notepad and you will see 3 lines near the bottom:

 

 <record from="Richmond_1" to="graphics/pictures/team/671/kits/home"/>
 <record from="Richmond_2" to="graphics/pictures/team/671/kits/away"/>
 <record from="Richmond_3" to="graphics/pictures/team/671/kits/third"/>

 

Simply change 671 to 4001706 then save the file.

 

Also please make sure the shirts are named Richmond_1.png, Richmond_2.png and Richmond_3.png.

 

That's what I named them when I uploaded, but I've noticed that when I download them from here, the names are different.

I am Paul and i am making my own team in the EPL and i have designed my teams kit, but i would like to ask you if you can finish it so it will work in FM21 and added to the magepack, my database is Richmond and in this database my Unique ID: 4001706, but i am happy to start a whole new one if that's required to add your megapack.

 

I am happy to pay some money if you like to finish the product.

I will provide PSD and 200x200 logo in PNG format that you can use for icon, logo and small 20x20 badge with 3 kit colours.

 

Home kit: black

Away kit: Orange

Third kit: Yellow

There is no kits megapack I'm afraid, and all I normally do is a pack for the default kits in SS style. That said, your request is simple enough so I've had a crack at the kits. Hope these are OK for you? (and thanks for the offer to pay, but that absolutely is not necessary - folk on these forums do what they do for the love of FM and to help others enjoy it that bit more, and no-one should charge anyone for anything they do).

I can see from the screenshots you've provided that you are trying to make backs as well as fronts. It really is not worth making backs as you only see those on the tactics page and they are so small you can't make out any detail. However, if you are determined, it is possible to get them to work - I used to do it for my fantasy team added via the editor, but gave up after a while and I cannot now remember the correct XML to get them to show in-game!!!

 

That said, here are the backs. 

 

NOTE: The nib sponsor logo needs to be so low down else it will be obscured by the shirt number in game.

 

You're going to need a config.xml file to get these to work in-game, and attached is one I've prepared for you (fronts only).

 

To get these to show, place the shirt fronts and the attached config into a new folder, then pop that folder inside the “pictures” folder - the default path on a PC (not Mac) is C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\graphics\pictures

 

The ID you've quoted is for Burton Albion so you may need to remove the lines for that from the config.xml file if you've downloaded a League One kit-pack to avoid confusing the game.

Hi everyone,

 

Thanks for the pack.

 

I installed it, no problem whatsoever, I managed to implement the SS kit effect.

 

However, the club logos don't appear on the default kits, and I don't know why..

 

What should I do ? Do I have to delete one of the folders which appear in Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\graphics\pictures\kits\2d\outfield\front\default\logos ?

EDIT : if it can help, I did THIS (https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/524020-remove-licensed-kits/) prior to installing the pack (to delete all licensed kits). I think it's irrelevant but I say it just in case

I've not come across this issue before. You do not need to delete any graphics to use these default kits, and certainly not any logos. The logo showing in-game for a team should appear in the correct place on the default kit.

 

Please check and confirm that you have installed the default kits in the exact location specified in the instructions. And I do mean exact, no additional directories, spaces in the names etc. Even something as minor as a capital letter instead of a lower case letter and they will not work properly even if they do show on-screen.

 

If you are sure they they have been installed in the correct location with exactly the same path then please can you post a screenshot showing your installation folder and also a screenshot from the game showing the issue and I will see if I can work out what is wrong.
