Had a little mess about and it doesn't work for me either you don't put a club at the end. Ah well, something learned I guess, so not a total waste of time! 😂

I even tried putting a birth dates that would make them in their 40s, 50s or 60s to see if they would appear as staff and that doesn't work either - if you try to make a newgen too old they simply do not appear.

I guess so. Not tried it myself, but the last number is the club so if you just leave it blank, by that I mean put “”, then I would expect (but I don't know for certain) the newgen to either appear at a random club or as unemployed. Try it in a test save and see what happens.

Here you go.  Each of the 3 lines beginning "DETAILED_FUTURE_REGEN" are my actual newgens - all the other lines prefixed with # are ignored by the game and are there just for info.

@Rob Henry  DETAILED FUTURE REGEN should be DETAILED_FUTURE_REGEN (with underscores between each word) and in my file I use a period as the date seperator rather than a slash, but I'm not sure if that matters. I also have the country name for nationalily rather than the ID, but I think you can use either.

This is the line I have in my file:

I do have it in the 2430 database - see the screengrab below with my .edt file highlighted.

I  place a copy of my .edt file (it's not .lnc as I mentioned a few posts back) in the same place in each and every database just to be on the safe side, but I think that technically you only need it in the latest (or the one you have selected for your game).

The whole of the dbc, edt and lnc folders are replaced when you use the real name fix, which I do, so the contents of my permanent might be slightly different to yours but that doesn't matter at all - as long as you have your newgen edt file in that place it should work fine.

@Rob Henry, sorry mate I'm telling porkies! The custom newgen file DOES work after the latest update, must have been a case of fat fingers (either that or I had forgotten how to spell my own name!! 😂) when I was looking earlier.

Which is good news for me but makes it a mystery why it hasn't worked for you.

Bad news. Just gone through my first close season in a new game started after the 24.4 update and my newgen's have not appeared, which is disappointing.

The file definitely worked before the update.

I use the real name fix and the only .edt file I have with additional staff is support_staff.edt which has the names of player liaison officers for a dozen clubs. You can only see the player liaison officer for the club you actually manage. Added an additional manager and took over one of those (Leeds) and that file is not working either - the player liaison officer should be Peter Lockwood (per that file) but I get some random bloke in game.

So does seem like they have either accidently or deliberately nerfed the ability to add custom newgens, and the suppot staff file in the update. Way to go SI!!!

It should work as it did before unless SI have nerfed it in the update. If not, the only things that immediately springs to mind is if you applied the latest version of mons's real name fix after the update could you have forgotten to copy your lnc file across into it?

I started a new save myself after the update but I've not quite got to the point where the regens appear yet. I should be able to let you know in a few days whether it is working for me or not.

I use Notepad++ (never heard of Notepad+++) but you can do this in any text editor. Standard Notepad will work just as well.

@tilo.overbeck , @wolf_gt I don't know any specific way to add custom staff, sorry. You could try putting a DoB that makes the newgen in their 40s and see what happens, or maybe try adding COACH, MANAGER etc as the preferred position. I don't hold out a lot of hope though.

Hi mate, this defintely works in FM24. I've added myself and a 2 others and all three spawned at the start of season 2.

I use ID for the teams and birth city but the name for the nation. I'm sure ID would work just as well for that. This is the line I have to add myself. Favourite team Leeds United, born in Keighley and spawn in Leeds United (my playing abilities are greatly exaggerated 😁).

This worked in FM23 (and earleir) and definitely still works in FM24 as I have spawned in my own game at the start of season 2.

Some time ago it was possible to change kit colours using COLOUR_CHANGE in a lnc file, in the following format:

"COLOUR_CHANGE" <ID> <Kit 0|1|2> <R 0-255> <G 0-255> <B 0-255> <R 0-255> <G 0-255> <B 0-255>
 

Example line, which should change Leicester City's away colours to purple and green (I chose those colours just to test it):
 

"COLOUR_CHANGE" 673 1 223 12 242 131 242 12

I just cannot get that to work in FM24. Does anyone know if this is still possible, and if so, what is wrong with the line I've used?

Logos will show on these default kits, if that's what you mean, but only for teams that do not have a real logo in the game or in any logo packs you might have.

I do not speak Spanish at all and have translated my reply using Google translate. Apologies if it makes no sense - but that's Google's fault not mine!

I do not know if all future regens appear in the game at the same time (though mine always have), so maybe Zidane will appear in the regens for your next game year. Or maybe not! The line for Zinedine Zidane looks correct as far as I can tell. The name of his favourite club is quite long - try using the ID 825 there instead and see if that makes any difference (I use IDs there myself).

I do not know if it would work if you put the name of the country in Spanish - I have only ever used English. Just try it and see what happens. However I don't think it would change anything in your game - if you are playing the game in Spanish language it should show the country in Spanish language even if you use English in the .edt file.

Unfortunately not. Back when I did those, the badges for the kits were separate from the main badges, but that's no-longer the case.

The game will add a default badge to the kits, but only for teams that use the default badges. If you use any kind of badge pack, then for teams that have a badge in the pack you don't get anything on the kits at all. It's a bug that's been there for a few years now and SI don't seem inclinded to fix it.

Folks, I'm happy to say that this pack works in FM24. In fact it can be used in every version from FM20, and it also works with Touch versions too.

No, nothing is wrong here. Competitions have both a long and a short name. The long name is the full blown sponsored name - in this case Sports Direct Premiership. The short name, as it suggests, is a shorter version of the name. In this case NIFL Premiership (which makes more sense than putting it as something like SD Premiership).

The game uses the long name in some places and the short name in others which tends to reflect real-life usage where the terms Sports Direct Premiership and NIFL Premiership are used interchangeably depending on where and how they are being used.

If you open the file Competitions and other Fixes.lnc which is one of the files included in the download in Notepad (or any text editor) and scroll aaaaaalllllll the way down to Northern Ireland you will see the lines:

"COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 130023 "Sports Direct Premiership" ""
"COMP_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 130023 "NIFL Premiership" ""

If you wish, you can overtype either of those names with anything you want then save it and whatever you have decided for the new names will appear in-game, but if you do this, just remember that you'll have to do it every time you download a new version of the Real Name fix (and there are generally a number of new versions released for each iteration of the game).

I think this is a really good idea. I get myself totally lost sometimes working out which kits I've downloaded and which I haven't, and with a kits megapack that problem goes away.

@Footygamer I appreciate this is a work in progress but Just a heads-up - I have downloaded the 2023.01 megapack and the home kit in there for North Carolina Fusion U-23 (ID 2000220601) is the 3D kit, not the SS style kit.

Also, there are a lot of kits (but not all of them) between 71016304 and 71105199 which are FC'12 style.

I have one question as well - where are the colour change .fmf files that were often inlcuded in the packs? They are not included in the megapack - are they elsewhere?

I'm guessing you use a skin because I don't have that view in my game - the only place I see goalkeeper kit backs is on the tactics screen, so I'm only guessing what your problem is.

What you have there is the normal kit back, overlayed by the texture layer for the goalkeeper kits. The SS style goalkeeper kits have long sleeves, hence you can see a “ghost” of the sleeves when the layer is applied to the short sleeved kit.

If you navigate to the directory where you have the kits installed (default path is Football Manager 2023\graphics\pictures\kits\2d\goalkeeper\back) you should see the effect layer there, named “overlay”, and 3 further folders named “plain”, “same as front” and “square”.

“plain” should just contain one kit back called "1.png" and a config file, the other 2 should each contain 56 kit backs (named "1.png"-"56.png" and a config file). All the kit backs you can see in these 3 folders should have long sleeves. If they have not, then I'd suggest downloading the pack again and reinstalling and that will hopefully solve the problem.

Excellent guide @Footygamer but looking at what you say under Advanced Setup I think you may have put the last 3 the wrong way round. I believe that it is actually:

At least that's the way I have it in the .edt file which I've used for a number of years, and it works fine in my game (I have 3 regens and they all started at the correct clubs).

Also, I believe that for Birth City you need to put the city ID from the database (rather than typing the actual name) which you've not mentioned in your breakdown.

Hope you find this post constructive (which is the aim) as opposed to being unnecessarily critical (which is certainly not the intention).

You can find the IDs for board members by going into staff and selecting “view all” then customising the current view to include UID.

I have pinged you an email with a copy of my number set for FM2017. Those numbers should show on the kits when you are looking at the tactics screen.

I'm afraid I can't share the default logo files because they are not mine to share. If you want them in a different style (Metallic etc.) then you could reach out to one of the logo pack makers, but as I've mentioned a couple of times, reinstalling your game should give you those back (it doesn't matter how cheap your copy was, the game is exactly the same game).

I have just checked this link and it is working fine, file downloads OK and unzips without any problems and everything is there and working. Enjoy :-)

However, I will say again that all the graphics you say you are missing are included in the game itself. If you haven't got them then it seems like your installation has become corrupted and the simplest and easiest way to get them back is just to reinstall the game. You can do this without messing up your save.

If you do need the numbers (and the only place they show is on the back of the shirts on the tactics screen) then use the ones from that pack and put them in the same place in your FM2019 install directory and they will work just fine.

However, all the graphics you say you are missing are included in the game itself so I would recommend that you reinstall the game. Whatever has happened to them, a reinstall should sort it out.

No, sorry, it's coding in the game that puts the badge on the kit, but (due to a bug) it doesn't work if you have an actual badge for the team as opposed to a generic badge.

I don't know any way to stop the generic logo showing on the default kits.

No such luck I'm afraid. Still no shirt badges on the default kits unless you also you have no badge for that club (default badge will show on shirt).
