Thanks for the response and your hard work. It's odd because someone else got this to work, and prior to this patch it worked flawless. Unfortunately with this and the adboard patch being gone I think FM is dying for me.

I wrote about solution, excluding MS store auto updates. From the moment I did it, the game doesn't download anything and it works perfectly with this license fix, Zealand skin and a few others addons. Probably i will buy FM from MS Store.

Yep i think you're right. It happened again this morning, even though i enabled mods before starting. I guess i need to get used to deleting, copy, pasting before i get going! The brazil names don't bother me too much…. but i have a few young germans in my team right now, so having them miss international opportunities wrecks the immersion for me!

 

I think I found other solution, but still to be checked. I turned off automatic updates and turned on off-line permissions in the MS Store settings.

 

Edit: Ok, it works.

Hi there, thanks for the offer of assistance. I've managed to work out the solution in the end… related to Gamepass. I realised I have only had issues with this after FM has had an update: even though I re-install the files, it wasn't working properly.

 

Having looked through the history of comments on this post and elsewhere on the interweb, I worked out the sequence i need to follow to avoid this happening:

  • Re-install all the files as per instructions
  • Open Xbox Beta app
  • Enable mods
  • Run game, enjoy.
  • When time to close game, disable mods in the Xbox app
  • When it's time to play again, enable mods in Xbox app

 

The last 2 steps are important I think, particularly after a update of FM, as the app seems to forget the mods setting perhaps?

 

I'm sure others have worked this out before me (and chances are it is already written somewhere in the 30+ pages of comments, and there's someone reading this now thinking how stupid and ignorant i am for not spotting it earlier) but I couldn't find a clear set of steps for GamePass/Xbox app users.

For me, the game is updated automatically every few or a dozen launches. I can see it by running FM from the start bar - then such a white bar appears. I just flip the folders over and that's it.
