Probably the same ones as FM11 + Gibraltar.

You can download fan made leagues now with ease but for the most part you will have to edit these leagues yourself. People have a tendency to bulk create leagues and never test them, so you see a lot of stupid mistakes (2 yellow cards leading to a ban rather than 5, fixture pile ups, the leagues not working after a season, etc)

On FM11 I downloaded a NZ leagues patch where the NZ teams for the Oceania Champions League were the winners of the second tier. Mucked up a Hexagon game when I found that out.

I'm going to buy FM16, but the last FM I bought was FM11 (it's a nice way to keep my costs down and actually see a decent level of difference between editions) - does anyone know what leagues are going to be included, or can at least tell me what leagues were in FM15?

Apparently Joel Matip could be on his way. Probably a good signing, definitely an improvement on Williamson.

Because he's young and English? Wasting money on every half-decent young English player has been Spurs MO for years.

Brendan is doing the nationalism challenge.

This was Newcastle's best away kit (also when we had the best players):

Hopefully things have changed anyway, the Mirror reporting that Austin is a done deal and Berahino is next.

Austin and Berahino is the sort of front two I dream of Newcastle having.

I can't see it tbh, I think the majority of Newcastle fans are fully aware the problem lies with the owner.

Dunno, there was plenty of anti-Pardew sentiment, before it turned out that he was making a shite team look slightly bad and Carver demonstrated how bad the team could play. Hopefully the knowledge that Shteve has a shite team that needs rebuilding will buy him a bit of time.

I wouldn't have minded Newcastle making a move for him, wishful thinking though.

He would have always chosen Liverpool over Newcastle. Maybe they'll convince Charlie Austin to sign though.

Germany, Portugal and Serbia are all in the Under-20 World Cup which has already begun, so there's a possibility these teams will be a little weaker as a result.

WRT the England team, they look better than normal up front with Berahino (who will match Shearer and Jeffers' U21 goalscoring records if he gets 3 goals), Kane and Ings in the squad; a little thin in midfield with only Redmond, Ward-Prowse, Hughes and maybe Pritchard impressing me much; and poor defensively, with Jenkinson, Stones and Chambers being the best of a bad bunch. I reckon the Italians will win it.

Think it's confirmed now, Quique Sanchez Flores on a 2 year deal. Should be interesting.

Doubt that deal's worth the paper it's written on.

Seems that Shteve McLaren is due to be named Newcastle manager. I don't have too much problem with him, even with his Smoggy past, I think he's a decent coach. But I don't think he's the man to turn the club around. If he could bring players through from youth like he did at Middlesbrough with Downing, Cattermole et al that would be a step in the right direction, though he had the structure to do that at Boro.

On another note how do you still have Obertan

The worrying conclusion is that the team is going to be restructured around him.

I know the main thing that needs to get sorted at the moment is the manager/head coach (of the rumoured ones I prefer Remi Garde and Michael Laudrup), but have there been any rumoured transfers?

Surely Madrid would like to employ the Premier League's best coach?

I know it lacks ambition somewhat, but I'd like Newcastle to become a team that developed young players, had a solid English/British core to the team that had been developed at the club, challenged for Europa League spots/cup wins, sold players they'd developed principally to top-4/top foreign teams, and gave the 50,000 fans that turn up every week something to cheer about.

I'm not sure how Newcastle are going to keep the best coach in the Premier League. He could presumably walk into any job in the world: replacing Pellegrini at Man City? Taking over at Borussia Dortmund to replace Klopp? Maybe Barcelona will realise Luis Enrique cannot compare to the best coach in the world, and sack him so they can approach Carver?

I did a little research:

Taking only managers who won the European Cup and its successor, the UEFA Champions League:

Goalkeepers have won 1 trophy as managers (Raymond Goethals in 1992-93)
Defenders have won 10, most recently Rafael Benítez in 2004-05.
Midfielders have won 30, most recently Carlo Ancelotti in 2013-14
Forwards have won 14, most recently Jupp Heynckes in 2012-13
Non-players have won 4 (Dettmar Cramer, who was a journalist, in 1974-75 and 1975-76 and Pep Villalonga in 1955-56 and 1956-57

Obviously there's some dodgy methodology: Cramer and Villalonga played football informally, but I can't find what position they preferred. Some players like Cruyff defy definition - forward or midfielder? But the overall impression is that midfielders make the best managers, with little to separate defenders and forwards.

BBC are saying that Ashley is backing Pardew - though not publicly it seems. Best hope seems to be that they're getting a replacement lined up for when the axe falls. If Pardew isn't getting sacked on the basis of the Southamton result (and everything leading up to it), then what will be the straw? The game at Hull? Aside from the first game, Newcastle have had a favourable fixture list at the start of the season, and should have been making hay and picking up as many points as possible before the Tottenham - Liverpool double header at the end of October/beginning of November and the Chelsea - Arsenal - Sunderland run over mid-December. At the current rate, the team won't have enough points to be able to afford to lose and draw those matches without being in the drop zone at Christmas.

I'd be happy for Tim Sherwood to get the job, if he brought Sir Les along with him. I don't want the club to be the sort of place that managers come to resurrect their careers, so no thanks to Moyes. Tony Pulis would be solid and dependable in theory, but I wonder how his management style would get on with some of the big egos at St. James' Park.

I know that and after posting that I recalled that, but I thought the move to take TC to Villa had died on deadline day so I was surprised it was resurrected.

Apparently Cleverley called Paul Lambert to beg him to resurrect the deal for him - when you thought you couldn't get any lower...

Typical defensive woes for Newcastle there. Tim Krul looked more average than usual. Chamakh shouldn't have even been allowed to get on the end of the ball for the first goal. Janmaat was lucky to get Newcastle's first after the pinball in the box. The real bright note was Ronaldo Aarons, hope to see more of him in the future. And I wish we'd got Zaha on loan (not that he'd have wanted to move even further away from his mum)!

I only saw highlights on MOTD, does anyone who saw the entire game have nice things to say about Rivière that weren't apparent?

I'm hoping that a deal will be worked out for Micah Richards, I think he would add a lot to the Newcastle defence, and could be used at centre-back if necessary.

I think Newcastle looked okay today, and if they'd gotten a draw it wouldn't have been too unfair on City. Sissoko looked good, Colback was better than I thought he would be. The downsides were Janmaat not picking up his man and letting Silva score, and Riviere being anonymous and looking more like Guivarc'h than Rémy. Hopefully they'll do better next match, and with de Jong yet to come in, Newcastle should go to Villa expecting to win.

EDIT: Also, the black panel at the top of the chest on the new shirts looks wrong, and the shirts are too tight - it makes some of the players look like they have boobs.

I don't understand why Newcastle are determined to blow money on players who have one good season in Ligue 1. But that's why I'm not a scout.
