Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place.

 

I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I'm trying to change the Match Rules for the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup, more specifically i'm trying to increase the number of foreigners allowed in the match squad, but I can't seem to load the existing Asian continental competitions in the editor to make any changes. Apologies if this is something simple but I can't seem to figure it out!

I hope you all had a great Christmas / New year!

I have started this work with the Portuguese community, where we are trying to set up the Portuguese league with (At least!) 12 teams, and all of them would have their best 20/25 players that ever played for their team. Like this, everyone would be able to play with the likes of Gento, Eusebio, Di Stefano, Figo, George Best, Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore etc, basically all their idols. We were hoping that other editors and fans would join us and do the same thing for their own Country's league. It would be great if we could get as many leagues as possible and we could then have a real Legendary "mode", with a "real" Champions league where Eusebio could face George Best, etc, plus a great Worldcup / European Cup with the best players ever for each country would face each other (Pele, Yashin, Eusebio, Maradona, and the list goes on and on and on). Besides us, we already have a couple of communities working on this as well.

The idea would be that each team would have at least 2 players for each position, the attributes given would follow the logic of the ones already created (considering the likes of Pele, Maradona, Yashin, etc, you wouldn?t give let?s say Shay Given 20 on Reflexes... same thing for dribbling, very few players would have 20 on Dribbling (Messi, Maradona...). The database League of Legendary Gentleman would be the base for this logic (with a good few reviews) and there wouldn?t be any repeated player, so basically if you are not sure if player X should be joining Arsenal or Everton, the decisive fact should be the players favorite club and which club he had more success in. That database already has 2 clubs from the La Liga (Real Madrid and Barcelona), I believe the details are quite accurate, but you can review it! You can find the database on the link below. Regarding the age of the players, the players should be as old as when they first joined the team (I.E. Gazza joined Tottenham when he was 21, so his age on the DB would start as 21 YO if he is part of the Tottenham All-time best squad).

In order to get a really accurate DB, we actually went to the Team's Forums to get their opinion, as the fans will definitely know best who were the best players ever for their own team!

At the end, when everyone would have their own country rules created, and all the teams put together, we could put all the db files together and join it in a megapack (although the whole thing will be divided in the respective files, so the Portuguese league would have their own file, the English league would have their own file, etc, but you can load all of them at the same time).

I really hope you can join us on this project, please let me know if you are interested! Any help is welcome, even if it's not with the DB itself but created kits/facepacks for this.

Just imagine playing with your team's best squad, agaisnt/with teams like R. Madrid (Di Stefano, Gento, Amancio, Casillas, Hierro, Puskas) or Barcelona (Messi, Ronaldinho, Guardiola, Zubizarreta, Kubala..) and you will be able to face teams on Champions League like Man Utd (Beckham, George Best, Schmeichel, Bobby Charlton), Benfica (Eusebio, Rui Costa, Coluna), Bayern Munich (Beckenbauer, Kahn), Juventus (Platini, John Charles, Roberto Baggio, Del Piero), and the list goes on and on and on... Plus, you can play with your own National team agaisnt the likes of Argentina (Messi, Maradona, Redondo etc), Portugal (Eusebio, C. Ronaldo, Figo, Paulo Sousa, Vitor Baia), England (Bobby Moore, Beckham, Stanley Matthews, Gordon Banks/Peter Shilton), Brazil (Pele, Jairzinho, Garrincha, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho) etc etc.

I really appreciate all your time and I am really hoping this community can join us and put your own country's league in this megapack, as this has great potential! Please reply to this post so we don't end up by having people doing the same work.

PS 1: The "Base DB" needs to be reviewed, some of the players attributes will be dropped. Please make sure that the teams that you create are fair, even if that team's best squad doesnt have a chance to compete for the Premier League Tittle (You will still be able to play on the transfer market!) please keep them real and please keep the current rules and no team gets relegated - there will only be the first division, even if it has 20 teams.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - Beta 1

I decided to make this project, and finally, after a few months of hard work, I am able to release a Beta version!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Introduction

For the very first time, since the old Championship Manager days, I got bored of always starting with the same teams and same challenges, and eventually stopped playing completely. While I was on holidays, there was a game from 1966 giving on the TV (Portugal – Brazil, with the likes of Eusebio and Pele facing each other) which was delightful to watch, and after this, this movie named League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, starring Sean Connery, started, and here is where everything began. I loved the idea of gathering the best players of each team and stick them all on the same league to face each others and win the ultimate medal and honour. I.E. you can find the best Man Utd squad ever, where you will find Duncan Edwards, Beckham, Cantona, Schmeichel, Bobby Charlton, etc, and you can always buy your favourite player as well, as long as you win competitions and get the money for it!
There was a huge effort on watching videos and reading articles about those players, which has been quite exciting as well, although my wife does not agree with me!

To keep it short and sweet, there are two leagues (1[SUP]st[/SUP] division called League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (12 teams), 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] division called League of Gentlemen (10 teams)), a Cup and a Supercup. Besides that, you also have other cups, like the English Cup, the Manchester Derby, Greater London Derby etc, to keep it interesting, plus you also need to win those cups in order to qualify to other cups, until you reach the Ultimate Cup. You also win a prize every time you win a Cup, so you can buy more players as well.

Every player starts with 18/19 years old, close to their full potential, although they can always get better or worst if you don’t manage them properly. All the teams start with the same money on their bank account. You also have a few extra players, like the old FM prodigies that are starting with 14 years old and will only become world class if you give them chances (a few of them actually start as free agents) and you also have some free agent legends as well, like Billy Wright and Gary Lineker!

As this is insanely balanced, every single tactical twik will count, are you up for the challenge?

With this “update”, I really do not wish to start any kind of fight like who is actually the best player between x and y etc, so please try not to go that way. Regarding criterions, I took some players as the top, like Maradona, Pele, Yashin, Beckenbauer, which means that not many players should have 20 on dribble, as Maradona was without a doubt one of the bests ever. Besides that, just because a player has the same technical attributes, it doesn’t mean he is just as good, there are the mental attributes that count a lot, and one of them is the consistency!

About the distribution of the players, there were different criterions like which team they started and which team they are passionate about, which explains why Figo and Ronaldo are on Sporting Lisbon i.e., but they can easily be bought by Real or Man Utd respectively.

Along with the data file, you will also find a small Facepack with some of the players (around 200 players) that were added on this change. The config file used also includes most of the Panini pack, so you don’t lose what you already have!

Please note this is just a Beta version, with some work needed. Feel free to download and I hope you enjoy it.
Please copy the content of graphics/faces/ to C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2013\graphics\faces and then copy the content of DB folder to C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2013\editor data

When starting a new game, please choose France and Large database, so you can have all the free agents available.

As I am not an editor guru, there are a few bugs or things that can actually be improved, like having to wait 3 years to reach the ultimate cup etc etc, so if someone can actually help with this point, that would be really great.
Also, the reserves league – yes, there is also a reserves league so you can keep your players fresh! – does not include the Italian teams, which I would love to know why!
