Even though a lot can change between now and February - My predictions: Juve, City, Liverpool, Utd, Madrid, Roma (hopefully, but will be tough), Barca and Bayern to go through.

Pretty much all the favourites then, though there's bound to be one or two upsets. Madrid v PSG was an extremely tough one but if Madrid put all their eggs in the CL basket....maybe they'll nick it.

It might have been a soft penalty but it was stupid of Lovren to raise his hands and give the ref a decision to make. There was very little danger, DCL was completely on his own.

2-1 win for City and just like most seasons recently, the title 'race' is a non-event.

Benteke taking the penalty off Milivojević in the last minute. Crazy.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate how fucking good Salah is.

Aye, he's been absolutely quality. Knew he'd do well but didn't expect him to do this well especially in terms of goalscoring.

Elsewhere, West Ham look an absolute mess and looking forward to seeing how Big Sam gets on at Everton.

Fleetwood 0-0 Blackpool

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Not inspiring any buyers there.

Oyston's won't even spend on reprinting tickets now as their first court payment deadline approaches Don't know if you're going @BR. but if you do be sure to give the family lots of abuse for us!

If it was at the weekend I might have been tempted, but not a Tuesday night in November!

Beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 yesterday but we weren't great. 3 wins from 3 though and will hopefully make it 4 in a row on Tuesday.

Southampton 1-0 up v Everton.

Southampton are pretty dire, so Everton must be really bad.

Thoughts on the Niasse decision? For me, slightly hard done to. Definitely exaggerated the contact, but Dann did step across him and there was contact blocking Niasse off. Not sure it's a penalty either, to be fair, and I can see why the FA concluded he did dive.

I agree it's harsh. Not a penalty but not a proper dive.

Will be interesting to see who else they punish soon...

Pulis had to go, 2 wins in 20+ games was it....terrible. He might never have been relegated from the Premier League yet but that's where West Brom were heading under him.

Went to Bury yesterday, 3-0 win. Don't think we actually played that well but nice to win convincingly.

Bury were pretty poor if I'm honest.....hope you can turn it round, gfnx25!

It's frightening how Ventura was ever appointed, and this was always on the cards when it became clear just how out of his depth he was.

As you say, Insigne - the most creative player, the most likely one to maybe produce a moment of magic to get through the defence - getting about 20 minutes over the two legs, absolutely mental.

Get Ancelotti in and go from there.

Thought Evans' header was going in too.

Even though Switzerland missed a fair few chances tonight which would have made it more comfortable, it's a shame the only goal of the two legs was as a result of the awful penalty decision.

Benitez is taking us down. (again!)

You won't go down I don't think (despite the two very poor results this week), but your squad seems to be seriously short on quality. For example I don't think anyone is going to get 10+ league goals for you.

Being the reigning European and Spanish champions and then getting dicked by Spurs is an interesting was of proving it mate.

Odd for him to say that in the first place, Spanish clubs winning basically every European trophy for the last few years is more than enough proof of how strong their top teams are.

Madrid seem awful at the moment though.

Phil Neville has said to be considering the job, Allardyce name has been thrown around it.

An appointment such as Phil Neville or Giggs would almost certainly be a disaster, in fact it's embarrassing they've even thrown their hats into the ring.

Big Sam would get them sorted out but is probably quite happy in his supposed retirement.

Burnley are in a much better place than Everton at this moment. Would be a step down for him.

Burnley might be higher in the table now, but there's much more potential at Everton than Burnley. He'd have to be tempted if Everton or Leicester approached him.

They really should just make it a fair draw. Scrap the seedings.

Agreed, they've all finished 2nd in their group, just leave it open and see what happens.

Not really a surprise given the more sustained recent takeover talk. But as happened in 2009, we might need to wait and see if it actually happen. And indeed if they're an improvement.

That's the thing. Ashley is rightly hated, but some god awful owners have somehow found their way into English football in recent years and completely ruined clubs.

If you get good, sensible new owners with a bit of money, and keep Rafa, you'll be on the up.

Elsewhere, WBA 1-0 up at Leicester. Why did they give Shakespeare the job permanently.....

So is an all Ireland play off possible?

EDIT: Turns out it is. The teams are seeded from their fifa rankings into two pots, top four in one then the rest in the other. Assuming nothing changes between now and then this means the pots would look like this:

Switzerland 7th
Italy 17th
Croatia 18th
Northern Ireland 20th

Sweden 23rd
Denmark 26th
Republic of Ireland 34th
Greece 47th

Right?!

I thought they were both unseeded? With Denmark seeded. Not sure how they split them all though.

Anyone else finding it quite amusing how bad Everton are doing considering every single pundit for some reason predicted them to be brilliant this season based on them spending a lot of money.

They're poor yep and playing pretty dour football, which is unacceptable after spending £140m (regardless of the money they got for Lukaku).

Spurs could win this game by whatever score they want.

We seem to be playing well and scoring a lot of belting goals, fair play to Bowyer.

I just can't enjoy it as much until something happens at the top of this club. Roll on October and hopefully judgement day.

Bowyer could never get us above 8th/9th place in the Championship despite having a very good squad for the division, I was surprised he took you up and even more surprised at how well you've started, fair play to him indeed.
