It's definitely not related to this download because (a) they work fine for me and many others and (b) they don't edit the licensed European competitions at all (except for some non-English languages). I'm struggling to see what the issue might be, however 😢

It must be this download, I've tested so many things and the only explanation are the .lnc files from this download - and I think I've just found the issue.

In “euro and vanarama names.lnc” at the top of the file you have:

# UEFA Europa Conference League
"COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE"  1301394 "UEFA Europa Conference League" ""
"COMP_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 1301394 "UEFA Europa Conf. League" ""
"COMP_3LETTER_NAME_CHANGE" 1301394 "UECL" ""
"COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE"  1301394 "欧足联欧洲协会联赛" 1000002
"COMP_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 1301394 "欧洲协会联赛" 1000002
"COMP_3LETTER_NAME_CHANGE" 1301394 "欧协联" 1000002

This ID is actually for the Champions League. I've confirmed this because I appended “TEST” on to the end of this string, closed and reopened the game, and sure enough the competition now reads “UEFA Europa Conference League TEST” - even though it is the champions league.

I'm bewildered as to how this isn't an issue for anyone else though…

Seems to be a bug with the naming of the Conference League/Champions League when using this file. I can't post example screenshots because I'm using the alpha testing version of the game and am not allowed to share screenshots, but I installed all of this correctly, and it was working fine. However, after some real life days passed, I wanted to check up on the European competitions to see how certain teams did, and I noticed there were two Conference Leagues. I thought at first it was a bug in the game itself, but I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it so that the data folder could be redownloaded and the game completely installed fresh. I loaded up a new save with no editor data files and the Champs League and Conf League were named correctly. I then loaded up the save again (again without installing these files), and yet again the competitions were named correctly. So the only explanation for the names being wrong initially was because of the folders downloaded from here.
