Will be interesting to see how the Chelsea fans deal with singing something other than "Chelsea!". This could be a step too far for them.

Mirror reporting West Ham have had a bid for Lukaku rejected. - and seem to say that Lukaku wants to leave.

No chance in hell we'd stump up the money for Lukaku.

Fucks sake man, I'm gutted. We have 100m to spend and Arsene is an absolute cunt if we don't spend more than 74mill of it.

Great, it gets better.

I don't want this Madrid shitehouse, I want a ballsy bid and a tapping up of fucking Edinson Cavani.

I reckon Newcastle would for the right player. (Upto £25m?)

Stars would have to align perfectly, that he is relatively affordable, and no one better comes in for him, and that he is willing to come to Newcastle.

I really don't think we'd go for someone for over 10-12m ish.

No resale value for anyone higher really.

There would be loads of resale value. If he was available for £20-£25m Newcastle could easily sell for £40m+ in 2 seasons if he does well.

We couldn't though.

If we buy for 20m and he does well we'll sell for around 25m.

When was the last time a small club sold a player for more than 40m in the Premier League?

Lukaku is much better than Carroll, and Newcastle got £35m for him. And Spurs got £30m for Berbatov, £40m for Modric and £80m for Bale depending on if you class them as a big club.

I reckon if Newcastle signed Lukaku and he had a good couple of seasons, at least one massive club would pay through the nose for him.

Ah, bitter Arsenal fans. Always good for a laugh. I'm looking forward to the fall-out when we sign Sagna.

It's all fucking happening, just seen someone post a Fabregas shirt burnt, people calling him a traitor, and Piers fucking Morgan.

And Sagna's said goodbye on Instagram, great day.

But why is Fabregas the cunt? Arsenal had first option on him didn't they? Maybe Wenger didn't want him? Maybe that stung Fabregas?

He's the one who forced his way out of Arsenal the first time by going on strike and making us settle for 27mill, when in reality he's a 40-50m player at the time.

Carroll is English - the pricing system on English players doesn't apply to foreign players.

I'd be willing to bet a lot of money Mike Ashley will never pay over 20m for a player while he's in charge of Newcastle.

I'll always love Sagna. He stayed when everyone left, gave 110% every time and at least it's City he's going to. Of all times to leave Arsenal to be fair, this isn't the greatest. We're actually on the up for once.

And you're almost certainly right. As it's unlikely a £20m+ player will ever be willing to come to Newcastle.

But I think Newcastle would be prepared to pay for the right player. It is unlikely that a 'right player' will be available. So I guess one way or the other it will be impossible to prove.

Apparently Yann M’Vila is headed to Inter. Remember he was a proper talent at one point. Would be interesting to see if he could re-ignite his career in Italy.

I think Cabella is worth a lot closer to the €16m they quoted than the €8m we bid, and we certainly won't go over €10m.

I think with getting Cabaye for around £4m Mike Ashley expects to find quality players for under 5m which is very rarely the case now.
