Doesn't say much though.

Flash.
Rangers fan would be happy selling the naming rights as we know we're fucked financially. The issue is it's just been announced that Green sold them to Ashley 2 years ago for 1 pound.
Murrayfield sold the rights for 20 million over 4 years, we could have expected to get 2-3 times that.
Shola
Bizarre, did Green/Rangers not realised they sold the naming rights or something?
Poe
Aye, tbf Rangers is the perfect club for Ashley.
If he can sell us and buy Rangers he can get global coverage through the Champions League for Sports Direct with very minimal investment.
It's surprising he didn't try and sell up when Rangers were at their lowest ebb.
And aye I can see where your coming from with the naming rights issue - 1 pound is ridiculous, what is even the point?

Most of the statement is about criticising journalism but we have been given as good as any statement on Ashley's position at the club, which is this:
So, between the lines, could the club be up for sale in 2016?
Also, interesting they haven't felt moved to comment on the papers circulating articles Pardew has 2 games to save his job.
Number 1
Fuck's sake.
Shola
The Sun said Pardew only wants players who love the club.
Graeme Bailey tweeted earlier, that Pardew was one heavy defeat away from the sack.

He's also confirmed he's not involved in the share issue at Rangers, which saw £7million raised by club directors. Even despite the dumbass sale of naming rights to him for £1.
Goal is a tricky source to trust but given quite a few sources are reporting Pardew is in serious trouble, maybe there's an element of truth. Certainly, another heavy howking by Southampton to go with the one we got in March wouldn't help his job prospects.

Given we've lost 39 league games in the last 2 and a bit seasons, he's hardly in a strong position as it is. Plus given our poor record at Southampton, this is not the game he would've wanted to show he's still right for the job. Though I think that one should've been Palace and he blew that one.
Poe
We'll never finish above 10th again unless one of these two things happen.
Preferably both.
Number 1
Yes Ashley is a problem but right now Pardew is the bigger waste of space and time.
EDIT: I have also seen photos and Tweets saying John Carver tried to start a fight with some of the away fans. Surely that is justification for his removal as well.
Number 1
That would never happen - would mean paying compensation.
BR.
Seen Bruce linked. Moyes too and he'd definitely join you and try, he'd be so determined to rebuild his reputation. Pulis as well, and you can guarantee he'd do at least steady the ship and do a decent job.
Shola
Pardew is the only man since Robson to last a full season in the past decade.

I was averse to Pulis but now he definitely would help. But he wouldn't come to us because of the control over transfers issue, given that's part of the reason he left Crystal Palace in the first place.
Chris Hughton lasted the whole of the 2009/10 season. Top flight though, yes. He's also only the third Premier League-era manager after Keegan and Robson to manage three full seasons in a row.
For full-season I think you technically could count Glenn Roeder as well given he presided over the messy 2006/07 season apart from an utterly pointless final day draw with Watford, but I suppose you can't.
Shola
I think Pulis would come, because it's a massive club compared to where he's managed, and I think he would sort Newcastle out, but I'm not so sure what would come after that.
Number 1
Perhaps but he still managed the entire league season, so he does count.
Shola
An absolute embarrassment.
Poe
Pardew chops and changes far too much. Someone from the continent with a new backroom team too - I think it'll suit our style of play more than the kick and rush style of English managers.
John Carver is an embarrassment too.

Meanwhile the Telegraph is reporting Pardew maybe given until Christmas. Oh wonderful.
EDIT: Guardian reporting a defeat against Hull and he's stuffed. Which is probably to be expected tbh.
Shola
Had a brief look, but it seemed to be mostly bollocks, how everything good at Newcastle was luck/or the players/in spite of Pardew/The ghost of Chris Hughton. Everything bad was Pure Pardew.
Number 1
Plus I said it looked well done. That didn't meant to say I agreed with all of the content, and I have read it. Its too easy to portray Pardew as a villain because he is the public face of the Ashley regime, which was last popular a fucking century ago. But while I agree he isn't the be all and end all problem, he still is a major one. 5 wins in 23 is the kind of form that would get you sacked at every other club in the top four tiers, yet here we still are for what, exactly?
Flash.
I'm not sure what they did. They tried to back out of the contract but it was watertight.
We had a 60 million pound tax case looming over us, so no one would go near us, understandably.
That's where the most anger from Rangers fans come from. We were found innocent in the tax case, but due to the case, we weren't able to find a buyer and went into administration. If the case had been thrown out earlier we would have got a buyer and never went bust in the first place.
Shola
I'm not opposed to Pardew's sacking.
It's more I'm just bored of the fans moral high ground, and crisis circus that surrounds the club. Gut feeling is that we'll be in the exact same situation as right now in 12/18/24 months time. The club seems to have two modes, very successful (lasts about 12 months) followed by crisis mode which lasts about five years.
geordie1981
It's born out of frustration isn't it, we hear the other side of the story all of the time whenever we turn on the radio, read the paper, watch "expert" panels on TV and catch a stream of any one of our games.
Even on saturday Tony Gale was banging on about Pardew being a fantastic manager, his hands are tied, they sold Cabaye if he wasn't from Laandan Taahn they'd love him up there.
Yesterday Jonathon Pearce (and tonight on MNF Gary Neville) saying Pardew can't be blamed for his defence performing like that, which would be fair enough if it was a one off not when it's happened for the 20th time.
Poe
Riviere our centre forward hasn't had a chance in between the two goal posts in 4 games. That's crazy.
Pardew also must take his share of the blame for forcing a defender out, and saying we're 'defensively sound' - when it's clear to anybody we're far from it. We've needed a reshuffle at the back for about 2 seasons now - Coloccini seems to be just phoning it in and Williamson is poor. Taylor is worse so he's not the solution and after that we're looking at youngsters? It's ridiculous.
