This file will need to be re-applied if/when patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 15 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for German, Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, with 26 media files added to encompass all major footballing nations and continents. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all these files to work, however, you will need to start a new game.
Magrippinho very helpfully created a YouTube video on how this file should be installed. Some of the contents are different - but the procedure is identical, although of course you use the equivalent folder for FM15.
Or, you can follow the below instructions to install v2.0 of this file (if you are installing a previous version please use the 1500 folder instead of the 1530 folder:
Step 1: Go to
PC
Slightly more detail in this post
Linux
Step 2: Delete the edt and lnc folders from the folder above
Step 3: Copy the edt and lnc folder from this download into the folder mentioned in step 1.
Step 4: Go to:
Step 6: Keeping the folder in step 5 open, go back to the file you downloaded and select the folder named "FM15 Real Names Fix Files from sortitoutsi.net v2.0".
Step 7: Paste the circled folder directly into the folder mentioned in step 5.
Step 8: This should be what your editor data folder looks like. There may also be a config.xml file in this folder and can be safely retained; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly. Club names (including the German ones) are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.
Some of these changes may not apply in FMC...

Than you.

Watch the video and make sure that you replace the EDT and LNC folders in both the 1500 and 1530 folders.

Asking because I'm about to start a new save and was advised by hammer9 that this file does what his popular SSKCC file does - change kit/club colors add/remove third kits.
So yeah, just wondering what happens if I remove it.
mons
It can safely be loaded alongside hammer9's SSKCC, in fact I do so myself in my save game...
KambukaSHOTS
which one should i update?
mons
To be safe, both.
KambukaSHOTS
cool, will do both thanks

it was working perfectly...but couple of days ago i've downloaded INC file from some germany website which renames current german club names
so u get full names in standings...like on this picture
http://s28.postimg.org/q1whvv6al/image.jpg
and after a while club names revert to this
http://s1.postimg.org/ay25qcg0f/1_Bundesliga_Overview_Stages.png
and whatever i do in INC file i just can't rename clubs but ONLY from 1.bundesliga and 2.bundesliga..fot 3rd liga and below i can do it without problems..
is it maybe because when i've created new game i also used file called Susie Real Name Fixes - Club Name Changes FM15.dbc in editor files folder?
is there a conflicts between this file and my new INC file?
cuz one other friend doesnt use susie file..only that new german INC file...
please help

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
If you started the save game with all the files from this download in place (as you seem to have done), then it would not be possible to rename German club names using lnc files. This is because the club name changes are done using the editor data files (the dbc file you mentioned), and entries amended using the editor cannot be changed afterwards mid-save game through lnc files. The reason why only 1. Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga club names cannot be changed is that they are the only ones which needed to be amended in the editor data file due to the licensing restrictions surrounding them in FM, lower division German team names are not affected by the licensing restrictons.
As a general rule, unless you really know what you're doing, I would not recommend running alternate lnc files alongside the ones in this download due to the possibility of duplicate entries and other possible conflicts.
I'm a bit confused with the screenshots though. Are they from the same save game? Because the date in the first screenshot is after the one in the second, which doesn't make any sense if you say that club names revert after a while.
Hope that's clear and that I've explained matters...
Done (for FM16)

That's a bit strange. You must have changed something in the lnc file or download a separate similar file - things don't just decide to change just like that.
Can I have a screenshot of your 1500>lnc and 1530>lnc folders please? I may be able to spot something not in place...

Thanks again.

first picture is from my friends game..second is from my game...
at my game it was also looking like that, and then after 2 months played it rolled back to old (short)names like,Bayern,Dortmund,Stuttgart etc...
thats why i was confused because at first it was working and then after 2 months (game time) rolled back...
but now i've created new game without that .dbc file and everything is working...i finished half season
thanks

Club name changes mostly are for German, French, Portuguese and Italian clubs. Man Utd's full name is already in the default db as you are requesting it.
Remember, there's the short name as displayed in the squad screen and the long name as displayed in the club info screen...
Si Ford
Well it was until version FM2015 and SI changed it BTW Hope they put it back to the old way in FM2016
quick question Mons.... Can I transfer / use my own club name change file from this years FM2015 into FM2016 or will I need to input the data all over again? When its out... In theory could I open the editor for 2016 and merge or just save as new file the DBC editor data file from FM15 into FM2016 or would that not work?
mons
In response to your last question, I see no reason why you shouldn't. I've carried over the same file (with changes obviously) from FM13 to FM14 and FM14 to FM15, so I'm certainly hopeful I'll be able to do so again for FM16. You could even be able to run it alongside the club name changes file in this download; the only issue would be with edits of the same entry in both files.
Si Ford
I take it media files can also be merged together?
As I use Hammer's SSKC and transfer updates etc with running quite a few leagues these editor files take up space.... and I read somewhere that it's not
recommend to have more than 69 editor files....
I am just preparing my files and having a play around with the editor learning to unlock different league databases for FM2016

On my mac, in the application support folder I can't find a steam folder? Anyone know what i can do from here?
Thankyou.
Darvey
It's quite simple. Whilst in Finder, access the "Go" top menu and whilst that is highlighted, press the "alt" key and select "Library", from here you can open application support where you should find your steam folder.
