I played my first friend match by using Arsenal the second time. (the 1st time I lost 5-0). The second time 2-0.
Arsenal players got no energy to run, gave away possession easily, passed the ball to no where (to the sidelines...) and created nearly no chance...against a MLS team。

I had already set every players `position accordingly and adjusted instructions properly. The moves of Arsenal Players looked like a bunch of idiots with no juice when compare to their opponent... The only thing I can think of is I did not undergo any training before this match (only this friendly match is set before the Community Shield & league match begin)...I just wonder what is going wrong with the game?? Their performance was too horrible..What should I do??? PLEASE kindly give me some advice

Seriously? your complaining about losing a friendly? you do realise big teams do lose friendlies in real life and it'll just take time to get use to your management style and tactics? you can't just immediately implement a tactic that;ll automatically win every game every time otherwise what would be the point? I think this is just irrelevant

So you've played 2 friendlies and lost them, its no big deal like Dan says. I'm sure everybody that plays FM has lost friendlies to much worse teams, it happens in real life football too remember.

I couldn't help noticing what you said here:
"gave away possession easily, passed the ball to no where (to the sidelines...) and created nearly no chance"

Those problems could be because you've set your width to 'Narrow' and are then asking your players to 'Look for the overlap' and to 'Pass into space'. I'm no tactical expert, but to me those instructions are probably the reason your players are playing crap. You've basically told your players to stay narrow and together which means the only spaces to pass into are spaces your players aren't going to be getting into. Try making your team width a bit wider and go from there.

One pre season I lost friendly games away to amateur sides Nortel and Holywood - that season we were (and still are) a Premiership team but I didn't hit the 'panic button', I sucked it up, played on and realised, believe it or not, top flight teams actually lose to 'weaker' opposition. Oh and since when did results actually matter a jot in pre season, I thought it was all about preparation and fitness?

You've got an awful lot of contradictory tactical instructions there.

High tempo and retain possession don't really fit together all that well, I always think high tempo and going more direct is a stronger option. Retain possession and run at defence is going to cause people confusion as well, looking for overlap and playing narrow, playing into space and retain possession - you need a more coherent game plan.

And also, as mentioned, don't get too upset about pre-season friendlies.

Yes your tactics are drosh mate.

Stick to the basic

if u want possession use things such as low tempo, play out of defence, work ball into box and shorter passing.

If u want counter or direct use higher tempo, more direct, and run at defence

and u are using way to many team instructions. Use a max of 3-4 to start with and add and remove as needed.
