Only just seen the latest gossip that is David Villa joining us (or Chelsea) in the Summer, though a loan in January is also a possibility...

DANIEL STURRIDGE is set to undergo a medical tomorrow as he prepares to make a £12million move to Liverpool FC.

The Reds are ready to complete the deal with Chelsea after a dispute with the striker's representatives was resolved.

It emerged earlier this week that a fee had been agreed with the Londoners for the 23-year-old frontman but there was a problem over the cash demands of his agent.

Amazing they're willing to pay that much for a player who hasn't proven himself all that much really.

Really don't understand why a manager like Rodgers who likes his teams to pass is signing the most selfish player in the whole league. Suarez will absolutely hate playing with him, like most other strikers.

And is out of contract in the summer. I'll take it though

Hardly surprising when Chelsea know we're desperate for another striker, can pretty much ask for what they want within reason.

And as Flash said they'd be due money in compensation even if you did sign him for 'free' in the summer anyway.

Still, I thought Liverpool had learnt their lesson with signing over hyped English players for too much money.

It's baffling how Chelsea can still get $12 million under these circumstances, Arsenal need to learn a thing or two.

£12m is about right, considering his age, potential and nationality.

I think he's got the ability, and if Rodgers can man-manage him well and give him sufficient playing time I think he'll be a good signing. He scored plenty for Bolton and then was good at Chelsea under AVB when he actually played.

Can't stand him, glad he's going to Liverpool and not someone I like.

And I'm skeptical as to whether it will work out, the guy just does not pass and we all know Rodgers is the pass master revolutionary.

Trouble is, he's always moaning about playing from the left and thinks he should be a striker, but isn't that where he'll play for Liverpool?

That Carling Cup game against us this season summed him up for me. Utter turd all game against two kids and then he scores and thinks he's the man, celebrating like he's scored the greatest goal ever.

He's not good enough for a club like Liverpool if they actually want to challenge at the top.

But for a player you probably can sign for free in the summer? (Tribunal and all, but likely for less than 12 mil)

Rodgers' probably thinking 'We're probably gonna get him in the summer, and we need a striker anyway, why not now?' and forgot about the '12 million' part.

The point is we need another striker now so Chelsea can get away with asking for abit more than normal because of that.

Is his contract definitely up at the end of this season? Because the only place I've seen that is on here. Most places I've seen have said it's the end of next season

I can't remember where exactly but I have definitely seen a lot of places that mentioned it ending this year.

aren't Chelsea drastically short on strikers too though? Im assuming they'll recall Lukaku in Jan then? or maybe try get Falcao in, or Hulk seens as the troubles he is in at Zenit?

Torres doesnt exactly have the best injury record, so if i were a Chelsea fan I wouldnt wanna just have him for the rest of the season, regardless of the 800 attacking mids you have behind him

They are definitely buying someone.

Recalling Lukaku is an option but he wants to stay at West Brom and Benitez has said before that it was unlikely.

Now if they could just give a ,new fucking contract to Lampard and Cole, that would be better than a signing

Even if we don't sell Sturridge, I think we will bring a new striker in. Sturridge isn't used much as a ST, I just don't think he will work there with our new playing style. Lukaku will probably stay at West Brom because if he does come back he won't play as much. Falcao seems like the ideal move, especially with Atletico needing the money. But who knows, January will be a long month for us Chelsea fans, I am calling a last minute transfer, whoever it may be.

Atletico will be mad to sell Falcao in January, their challenge for a CL spot will crumble.

Then again, it is Atletico...

Pretty sure they HAVE to sell him if a top dollar offer comes in because they are up the financial shit creek and are desperately in need of a paddle.

They'll probably agree the deal in January and he'll leave in the summer..

Can't see him going for anything less then £40 million.

I can't see Chelsea signing Falcao while Torres is still there.

All it means is you'll have a 50m purchase earning 200k a week on the bench every week.

If they do sign another striker I can see it being someone cheaper, then replace Torres in the summer when they have their new manager in.
