So, looking at the squad as is, who to cash in, and who could we bring in?

Personally I think Sissoko, Janmaat, Wijnaldum, Thauvin, Coloccini and possibly Perez should be carted off. I think de Jong and Saivet could do a job in the Championship but can't see either staying. As for ins, I saw a few mentioned around - Nahki Wells was one and I think he would be good - but I'm not entirely sure. For all we know Carr's probably got someone in the French third tier lined up.

Cringing so much at Newcastle twitter.

The Newcastle fans constantly complaining about the 'Southern Media' for suggesting Newcastle fans are having a messiah complex should have a word with themselves.

Newcastle are trying to buy Grant Hanley and Isaac Hayden.

According to the Chronicle were trying to buy Grant Henley and Isaac Hanley.

Cisse's moved to China.

Probably will still be called offside every 8 minutes.

I find that Celtic lad really weird. He's had a full season at Kilmarnock - where from what I could gather did alright - but then gets released by Celtic? But is good enough to be signed at 21 for Newcastle?

Unless we're litereally signing players to improve the u21's but have little hope of him actually breaking through?

SSN reporting Newcastle won't sell Sissoko for less than £35mill...good luck!

Tbf after his 3 decent games at the Euros, someone might just be dumb enough to pay that. And then look on in horror when he reverts to type.

Meanwhile, what actually is Isaac Hayden's best position? I'm not entirely sure.

Played the majority of last season as a defensive midfielder for Hull - and thats where Rafa says he's brought him in to play.

A new centre back and left back and replace any outgoings and we're good to go I think!

Former Newcastle United player David Edgar has been injured in a hit-and-run incident. The defender, whose father Eddie is from Jarrow, had been on a golf trip in Scottsdale, Arizona, earlier this month when the incident took place. Mr Edgar, 29, now plays for MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps, who have confirmed that he has suffered a knee injury. A statement on the club's official website said: "Whitecaps FC centre back David Edgar sustained a right knee injury while on a golf trip in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“I have done my research on the teams relegated in the last few years.
“In 2011/12 nobody that got relegated came straight back up. In 2012/13 nobody came straight back up automatically out of the three relegated.
“One (QPR) came up in the play-off and the next season (2014/15) one in the play-off (Norwich).
“After that one came up automatically (Burnley) and one (Hull) in the play-off, so it’s not easy.

Good that he's done his research. Can't half arse the excuse preparation.

Gayle, Anita and Hayden all taken off injured.

With a squad getting thinner as the week's gone on, that's hardly ideal. And on a day when Brighton are losing for once.

Love Big Daz - really enjoyed his performance - as a focal point I think those around him really benefit from him. Perez was actually good today - I think he might just have no idea what to do when he's with Gayle. Hayden was much improved - didn't try and overplay. Shelvey was very good in the second half after a poor first half.

Just wish we would play with more attacking intent from the start - Yedlin was superb for the third, but doesn't really attack like that at 0-0.

So a Chinese bookies that used to sponsor Burnley are the new shirt sponsors... not sure that's a big improvement on Wonga tbh. But then over half the league has a bookmaker as a shirt sponsor by now, even moreso with Everton gaining one too.

As I've just posted here, I'm loving the kit, to be honest.
Think the red numbers are a good touch too. The sponsor doesn't really phase me, as @Number 1 mentioned, it's not like we're along having a bookie

Most of the media are reporting takeover talk, with Chinese groups among the front-runners.

A year ago I would've welcomed it but we seem in a happier place at the moment than for most of Ashley's decade in charge. Plus I dunno - a part of me is inherently suspicious of how much cash Chinese investors in football actually have, and there's been plenty of alleged rumours that haven't come to fruition in the last few seasons. Although if they have the cash, partial investment wouldn't be unwelcome.

Did people care that we had Wonga as our sponsor?

Majority of people I know were just pleased we'd negotiated a good deal and not went with Sports Direct.
