I spent Thursday/ Friday bed-ridden with flu symptoms - headaches, coughing, aching muscles, dizziness etc - then finally managed to get over it last night. Still feel a bit odd but so much better than I did two days ago. However, last night I noticed seeing little flashes in my vision - kind of like when you look directly at a bright light, then you can see spots where the light has been. These spots hadn't faded by this morning so I called NHS Direct and they recommended I get down to A&E as soon as I could to get it checked out. Turned into a bit of a nightmare, as I went to A&E before being told to go to the eye unit, but there was no one there, so I went back to A&E where I was seen, but the nurse tried to send me back to the eye unit, where she eventually managed to get hold of someone who checked out my eyes and gave me the all clear.

Still not sure what's causing the problem but the doctor said there's no damage to my eyes so I'm guessing it's related to the cold I had/ still kind of have. Hopefully it'll fade in the next couple of days. Also, my pupils are dilated to fuck because of the drops they put in my eyes.

Ditto. It sucks sitting in a waiting room full of OAPs who have the same condition.
