Olympiakos FC announces the start of its co-operation with 44-year-old coach, Mr. Oscar Garcia.

Oscar Garcia was born on April 26, 1973 in Sabadell, Barcelona.

He started his football career at the Barcelona Academy and after two years he joined the first team of "blaugrana", where he played for six years with great success! Also in his rich football career he fought in Valencia, Espanyol Albacete and Lleida.

As a coach he has won two Australian doubles with Red Bull Salzburg (2015/2016, 2016/2017) and an Israeli championship with Maccabi Tel Aviv (2012/2013). He was also a successful Brighton and Watford technician in England, Saint-Étienne in France and Barcelona's New Team

Oscar Garcia is one step away from taking over Olympiacos. The representative of the Catalan coach, Josep Maria Orobitg, reached today an agreement with leaders of the Greek club at a meeting held at the Rey Juan Carlos I Hotel in Barcelona to which Òscar has also attended. The agreement is expected to close in the coming days finishing filing the small differences between both parties. The sabadellense is very excited about a new experience in Hellenic football. It will surely be his second team so far this season after leaving in mid-November the Saint Etienne for disagreements with the top management of the French club.

This afternoon Olympiacos has dismissed Takis Lemonis, who took over the team for the fourth time in September after the dismissal of the Albanian Besnik Hasi. Although the Greek champion has managed to finish the first round of the Greek Superleague in the lead after a bad start to the season, he did not avoid finishing the same team in the Champions League as Barça and was eliminated from European competitions.

Òscar will continue in this way with his coaching career after being Catalan coach U-18 and Juvenil A of Barça from 2010 to 2012, Maccabi Tel Aviv (2012-13), Brighton English (2013-14), again Maccabi a few months (2014), of Watford a few months more (2014), of Red Bull Salzburg one season (2016-17) and of Saint Etienne from July to November of 2017.
