I've just installed the update for the first time in FM17 and the changes look great.
Just a quick question; historically i've made my own stat edits by duplicating data from the most up to date version of FM (so having both editors open at the same time and replicating stats across by hand).
My question is are the player stats, CAs, PAs etc updated in the sortitout update? If not can I still do this myself by opening the fmf files in the editor?
When I had a look just now none of the visible files seemed to bring in the player changesinto the editor, so am guessing these are in the live update xml file?
I guess i'd just like to make sure players like Salah, and wonderkids like Sancho are accurate up to the most recent update.

much better to create different files to run alongside them
one with finance changes to clubs/player stats etc keep them seperate as using one file with all changes is not a good idea
and for those saying they cant see the file/s in FM editor you have to use the import option as these files are .xml

we have all been there its usually something really simple
it may interest you I do the same wait until window closes then tweak a few things I will start game in May 2018 so squads as per now (transfer ban on first window so clubs have to go as is) but my bug bear is this great update puts changes as if game starts 2017, so I will mass edit all loans to finish 2019 rather than 2018 so players will be on loan at the right clubs in 18/19
