A full set of SS style default kits for Football Manager 2018/19 (and Football Manager Touch 2018/19) - fronts, backs, goalkeeper backs and a resized set of shirt numbers to fit this style (the latter 3 are for the tactics screen and sundry other screens). Also includes re-positioned shirt club badges to fit this style, along with (optional) shirt manufacturers and sponsors.
NOTE - The club badges for the shirt front have NOT been made by me - these are the default badges from the game and I have just re-positioned them to sit in the right place on SS kits, and then added shirt manufacturers logo and sponsor. (There is an alternate set of just the re-positioned badges if you do not want to see the kit manufacturers or sponsors - simply swap them over).
Installation instructions for Windows PC's ONLY
***CARE - the file paths for the installed default kits must be EXACTLY as specified to avoid the SI "effect/texture" appearing over the kits. Even a change as simple as a capital letter instead of a lower case letter will cause SI "effect/texture" to be superimposed over the kit.
1. Place the "Fidney's FM18 SS Default Kits v3.7z" file into the following directory:-
C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2018
2. Right click and select "Extract Here"
If/when you see the message saying would you like to replace an existing file select "Yes to All" - this will ONLY over-write files with the same name in the destination. All other files will remain untouched.
CARE - I believe that unzipping files does not work the same way on a Mac.
For Linux and Mac operating systems please ensure that you place the extracted files in the exact same locations as the file path in the archive, but please ensure that you do not delete any other files when doing so.
If you are happy with the kits as shown in my screenshots then skip instruction 3, and go straight to no. 4.
3. If you prefer to have just the club crests showing on the shirts (without manufacturers logo and sponsor) then do the following:
a. Navigate to the folder "Crest Only - by SI"
b. COPY the files named 0 - 13.
c. Navigate back a step to the "logos" folder.
d. PASTE the files there, replacing files 0 - 13 that are in that folder.
4. In your game make sure that you do the following:-
Go into Preferences
Click on "More Interface Settings"
Remove the tick from "Use caching to decrease page loading times"
Click on "Reload Skin"
Enjoy!

I just dragged all my graphics over from my Football Manager 2018 directory to my Football Manager 2019 directory, and I am not seeing any issues.
Could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
mons
Fidney
OK, you are seeing the SI effect overlay instead of mine (which looks so much better if it was the right shape, so I feel a little experimenting might be in order! ) which in - FM18 at least - you would see if the file path to the SS default kits was not exactly:
C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\graphics\pictures\kits\2d\outfield\front\default (with everything from graphics in lower case).
If the file path differs in any way, or if you've got, for example, "Kits" instead of "kits" then you will still see the SS kit shape, but with the SI overlay.
This is what I see:

Does it make a difference if I have changed my user data folder to somewhere else? I imagine the first part of the path will have to change accordingly, right?
Fidney
In theory - I change my user data folder slightly for FM19 Touch so that it uses the same as FM19 and I have no problems in FM Touch either, but it is still on the C drive, which might be key. Having my user data folder on a different drive isn't anything I've tried so I've no idea what effect that would have.
mons
user data folder/graphics\pictures\kits\2d\outfield\front\default (with everything from graphics in lower case).
It's also working fine on a different hard drive than C, so you can be sure it works as long as it's installed properly. Thanks again
Fidney
Glad to know you've got it working, and thanks for the confirmation that the critical part of the file path is the bit after the user data folder.

Not sure I understand what you mean, this pack does include logo and sponsor for the default kits as you can see from the screenshots in the OP.

@MirkoFerrari6 I get what you mean now. It is possible.
There are 14 files (0.png to 13.png) in the attached zip. Extract them and then place those 14 files in the following location, REPLACING the 14 files with the same name that are already there:
C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\graphics\pictures\kits\2d\outfield\front\default\logos
Enjoy :-)

For those in the pack I just re-sized the SI ones because they were too wide for the SS style shirts, but that was back in FM17, however the FM2019 numbers are thinner anyway so you don't need the ones in the pack (I no longer use them).
However, if you really wanted to create a set from scratch you need something like Photoshop - but be warned, with 99 numbers to create it's a drawn out painfully boring process.
1. You basically create a transparent square approx. 90 pixels wide x 80 pixels tall.
2. Add the number 88 (because 88 is the widest number in the set) as a text layer using your preferred red font and red "ink"
3. Change the font size so that it almost fills the 90 x 80 box
4. Duplicate that layer - he original then becomes your number template - toggle it so that layer is not showing
5. In the duplicate layer, edit the text to change the number to the next one you want (don't do any more resizing).
6. Then you "rasterise" the duplicate layer you created (which basically turns the number into a shape) and add a green stroke (it's one of the Photoshop effects) 2 pixels wide.
7. Resize the canvas to 220 pixels x 220 pixels (which doesn't do anything to the number you have created, just adds more empty space around it.
8. Save that as X.png (with X being the number you have made).
9. Delete, the created layer.
10. Toggle the template layer so that it is showing again.
12. Go to step 4.
There are other ways of course, but the above is what I would do.

I extracted 3D default kits and I'd like to edit them to make them more compatible with these 2D default kits. My question is what should be the coding line in config.xml if I pack them later as a stand alone pack?
Or, if @Fidney is interested, perhaps we could join packs and put them all in a single pack, both 2D and 3D default kits?
mons
As Fidney isn't here that regularly, perhaps I can assist. There should be a config file in the folder with the 3D default kits that you've just extracted; can you not use the same one?
bolid74
Unfortunately, there's no config file in that particular folder, that's why I ask.
Fidney
Hi mate - sorry for the delay in responding, as mons said, I don't get round to visiting sortitoursi as often as I used to, or as often as I'd like.
Interesting that there is not a config in the defaults 3D kits. I've tried experimenting with creating 25 all black default kits (makes it easy to spot if they are being used!) and adding a config to it on the same lines as in the 2D kit pack, but, no SI ain't gonna make it that easy. All I've managed to do is make the kits that hang behind your 3D manager on the start screen black!
bolid74
If that's the case then my conclusion was that kits in graphics archive are leftovers from some previous version and that the game now uses some other files. And sure enough, I found them this morning in simatchviewer-pc archive, but in dds format. I'll see later what can I do with them.
bolid74
I can now confirm that there is only one set of generic 3D kits so the options for plain back, same as front and square bellow number do not work in 3D match. The back will be as made on 3D textures, no matter what option you select.
Here I edited stripes on the back to be only bellow number:
Qvordrup
I was wondering if you could help me and make me a slightly different version of kit number 16 (both front and back)? I'm looking for a more narrow stripe in the middle (same or slightly more narrow stripe than kit number 17 and 18). Just because I think the number 16 kit looks to similar to kit number 9
Fidney
No problem. How's these?
Qvordrup
THANKS a lot.... Perfect
