Game running slow?

Certain screens seem to taking an absolute age to load, specifically development centre and player training/progress reports in the inbox. Any hints to fix this?

I've seen a few fixes for slow processing speeds, wondering if they would fix it, I'm worried they would delete facepacks.

Validate game files?
deleting preferences?
rename inbox file (only saw this fix for 2018 and earlier but wonder if its worth a go)

The only way you will lose any of your packs is if you delete them yourself, the fixes you have mentioned won't affect them.
